Grey skies blanket the entire city
Fog fills its hollow streets
These days it almost seems pretty
An escape is all you need
Your footsteps on the ground echo
Your heart makes its deafening beat
You want to believe, but you know
Your dreams are out of reach
Distant memories haunt you
Unclear, fuzzy, and vague
Distant memories haunt you
Of a world with sunny days
Don't fool yourself into thinking
They left you here this way
Listen to the teachings
You're the only one to blame
Your ignorance will shield you
From all those other sounds
Isolation will corrupt you
Lost and never found
Distant memories haunt you
Unclear, fuzzy, and vague
Distant memories haunt you
Of a world with sunny days
