Sweet, yet vile poison lay on thy lips
Many of sought, but none have ventured far
To prize one such as you is to walk on a wire
One instant the sky is in grasp and glory and fame shine forth
The next, a single mistake falls fatally downward,
and the world becomes the audience for your play.
Only the foolish aren't cautious to wonder away from the snake.
But you, you are one that stalks closely behind.
When you have you prey in sight, your venom starts to water.
That look in your eyes...eyes that show nothing of mercy or rightousness, scares me to the point hollows.
Victims of your snare are immersed in the illusion of lustful pleasures,
As you ever so slowly reduce even the mightiest of men to nothing.
Who will be next? What poor, innocent soul has your mind set on?
Will it be the teller at the corner? Or maybe that man recovering from an affair with his wife?
Well, it matters not. They both will be tied to your finger eventually.
Now, I have my final question for you, my dearest.
What after you have no prey? What will you do then, thrive on your own kind? Most likely not.
What I am really trying to ask, my mistress, is will you go after me?
The one who's mere existence keeps you from falling on the face of the Earth?
Will you go after me? The one who feels sympathy for you as you gorge on your plentiful feast of cried men?
Maybe... If so, then I must say this. Your kiss is that of a thorn underneath a glorious rose, protecting your inner most soul. But, my love, I am the water of the land. Without me, your roots shall subside, your petals wither, and your sweet, vile lips will never smile for the rest of forever...
I liked the poem. Again, I just wrote what came to mind. It has nothing to relate to my real life. But you know what? It's and pretty awesome poem to give to a cheating girlfriend or boyfriend. Muhahaha!!! The ending was epic btw, if you don't think so, well..then burning_eyes
