Since if I post this on a public forum, I may get yelled at for trying to "silence people out", so it's going here.
It seems no matter what Gaia does, they are just a complete failure and will never be good enough for these stuck-ups. Me calling them "oldbies" wouldn't be right as not all old users are this way, and some newer users have the same attitude towards Gaia. There's one specific user that I see that pretty much lives in Site Feedback, flaming Gaia for anything they do.
Let's look at some reasonable complaints and the right and wrong way to correct them:
Right:
Dear Gaia Staff,
I'm having difficulties logging into zOMG! Whenever I try to go on, I get an error message saying "Error 403: Server Timed Out". I would like you to get this sorted out as soon as possible so I can continue playing.
Thanks,
A Name.
Wrong:
FFS GAIA CAN'T YOU DO ANYTHING WITHOUT FUXING IT UP?!?!?!?! ZOMG! SUCKS AND IT'S FULL OF GLITCHES. I WAITED YEARS FOR THIS POS AND YOU FUX IT UP AGAIN. THANKS A LOT!
Now comparing the two, you will see the right way of doing it will most likely get noticed more. Why?
1. The tone of the message is calm and does not insult Gaia for a mistake in their game.
2. The right one gives detail on what exactly is wrong.
3. The user is polite and patient.
Many users whine that "Gaia never listens." I'm positive they do listen, they just don't listen to foul mouthed 15 year old girls SHOUTING and THREATENING them for an update that doesn't tickle her fancy. People who organize pentitions asking Gaia for a feature that becomes popular will get noticed way before the dozens of angry topics. This is why "Gaia never listens." Because they do something that you may enjoy, FOR YOU, and you shove it back in their face like a little 5 year old who doesn't like their broccoli for dinner. THAT'S WHY.
Remember it's THIER SITE and they do what THEY WANT TO.
I believe this is what all Site Feedback posters must think on:
1. Does this update interfere with how you visit Gaia? Things like glitches are a definate yes.
2. Why do you not like the update? Stating things like "it's so unlike Gaia" won't help Gaia out much. Suggest a better alternative to this update if you don't like it.
3. Can I still enjoy the site and not have to use this update? For example, if you don't like Pinball but you don't have any leginamate complaints on it, then there's no sense on posting about it if you simply don't like it because you don't like the game Pinball.
4. Do I have to be so drastic enough to threaten to leave Gaia forever or curse and threaten them? If it's something silly like changing the forum buttons' colors, then don't do this.
5. What will be the expected replies of this thread? If your idea is weak or if you got a weak defenses to your idea (such as "it sucks" or "I don't like it" wink , then don't be surprised if you get jumped on with negative comments to your idea. If you don't like it, tell Gaia WHY you don't like it and suggest something better so they have at least some idea of what you want.
6. Keep in mind, even though they may put a price on a lot of their items nowadays, they want to make it appeal to the majority. Many items will be a hit and miss, and Gaia can't please every single person with their latest item. If you don't like the item, don't bash Gaia for making something many users wanted to see. You don't have to get it. Instead, suggest items you WANT to see and maybe you will get an item in return that you'll enjoy.
Yeah, I'm really bored typing all this out, but I'm sick of all the ridiculous complaints, the users threatening to leave at every update, and people letting some stupid update STRESS them out. Get over it people, it's not the end of the world.
