Calmi Cuori Appassionati Area: HUD/ User Interface Summary: Ability to mark maps Explanation: Like during quests, you see flags upon the PDA. Right next to the " recrewt" button can be a " mark up" button (or any other name) so users can place their own flags on maps. This is a simple, yet useful addition as sometimes you might want to remember a specific farming place or a place to meet a friend. Pictures and Examples
Vakruz Area: Other (Sound/Music/UI) Summary: Option to use music from the player's hard drive. Explanation: This idea was actually inspired by another game, called Balloon Duel, on Newgrounds. What that game does is, instead of having its own soundtrack, it allows the player to use music from their hard drive to use in the game. The purpose of this was to keep the file size down as low as possible, but I figure a similar feature in zOMG might help users who experience lag. This would, of course, be optional. There wouldn't be any importing or uploading-- that would defeat the purpose-- you would only need to enter the file path to the song in question (i.e. C:My DocumentsMy MusicSong.mp3); the song would be used in place of the game's default, saving precious bandwidth that would otherwise be occupied with streaming songs from directsong. Picture:
alexabookworm Area: Features Summary: See clan members on map Explanation: I think it would be fun to be able to see clan members on the PDA map, like friends and crew members, but in another colour. I can't really see te use of being in a clan if you can't even see where they are. Maybe purple or green could work. Pictures and Examplesnone
D-Fruit Area: Other Summary: NPC in Barton Town that operates a daily chance cart. Explanation: I've been trying to think of ways to encourage players to return to Barton every once in a while and thought, why not have someone operating a daily chance cart off in a corner somewhere. The cart could only be used once per day cycle and would either be free to use or the player would have to pay a small (5-10 gold) price. The things that the player could win would range from; Common chance items: gold, and common loot, Uncommon chance items: rare loot, or 1 charge orb, and the Rare chance item: a CL 1.0 ring. If implemented you may have to work out some way to limit/stop abuse as a player could make several mule accounts and use them to get tons of items.
MercifulDeath Area: Features Summary: The ability to tell who is Clan/Friend in the RECREWT list Explanation: The idea behind this goes along with the next suggestion, but I'll explain that one in it's own section. Basically, when you open the RECREWT list, there's a white or other brightly lit "C" beside the name of any member of your Clan that's on one of the layers of your area, and an "F" for those that are on your friends list in the area/server. Pictures and ExamplesArea: Features Summary: Quick-viewing of which quests other players are on. Explanation: Again, in the RECREWT list, it'd be great if we could see some sort of cluster of which Quests the other members have active. For instance, if I'm in Zen looking for people who need to kill the doll, I open the RECREWT list and scan the list of names by either a Quest tab or tiny pictures of the various Quest icons. For the icons, something similar to your Crew Rings setup, where hovering or clicking on one brings it slightly larger and tells you what it is. For the tab, switch over to that tab and it lists Name and Quest. Pictures and Examples
"Erica Court" Area: Features Summary: Synthesis badges. Explanation: Badges awarded for completing a certain number of recipes (10, 25, 50, etc.). I enjoy collecting recipe items and wish that there was more motivation for others to do so, other than just having a pretty item to wear. Pictures and Examples [None at this time, sorry.]
"Sex Symbols on Parade" Area: Features Summary: Kill Count Explanation: A new stat showing how many Animated you've defeated. It could just be a total, or even go so far as to break it down into types of Animated. The Reasoning: I've been told you get a ring drop every 100 kills. Well, I'd like to know when that will be. Also, you get badges based on how many of a type of Animated you've killed. What if I want to know when I'll be getting that badge?
"Khristina300" Area: Other Suggestion Summary: Just Crewed, An Addition to zOMG and/or GaiaOnline Explanation: Often times I find a crew that I really liked killing/questing with, and end up never finding them again( I usually forget to add them as a friend or the game freezes and closes itself before I get a chance to write down the names), so I was thinking, why not make a new feature to either zOMG or the Gaia site, where we can view the people we have recently crewed up with? Pictures and ExamplesNone, sorry, I'm not very talented at editing, and I don't have any photo editors like Photoshop. To give you an idea of what I mean, or where you could put it, you could make a tab on the PDA, showing who you've crewed with, within the past two or three days. (Of course, the time is just a suggestion, and is really just up to the Devs. )
"Kaormi" Area: Features Summary: PLAYER STATUS Explanation: AFK:If a player is going AFK (Away From Computer), they click a button, or something to that extent, and in big bold letters, "AFK" is displayed above their head, so people who need help don't look stupid talking to someone unresponsive, or when of a friend of theirs goes "HEY! JOE! HOW YA' BEEN?!", they don't get angry and offended and remove 'Joe' from their friends list. LFC / LFCM(or LFM):When a player is looking to crew up, or LFC (Looking For Crew) they click a button, or something to that extent, and in big, bold letters "LFC" is displayed above their head. Leaders looking for more crew members will have a similar option, except they will have "LFCM" or "LFM" (Looking For Crew Members[More]/Looking For Crew Members[More](One term or the other, possibly both!) *** Side Crew IdeaWhen people are looking for a crew, they can click player info with somebody having "LFCM/LFM", and they can see who and how many are in the crew. Pictures and Examples: None.
"The last fallen demon" Area: Feature Summary: Barton Town Null Crystal, or escape to Barton town Explanation: Since Barton town has been declared neutral there should be a way to get there, since there isn't a way in the null Crystal. It could be an item like a map or something, but it should take 100% energy or some sort of cost.
"Cube B" Area: Other Suggestions Summary: The Adventure Log Explanation: In Barton Town, you'll find a little girl who cannot travel very far due to an illness. She wants to know about the outside world, and will give you a book to write about your adventures in. This is the Adventure Log. Pictures and ExamplesThe adventure log is basically a repository of storyline information. It's divided into three aspects: The Story, Locations, and NPCs. The storyline section is filled up as you complete key quests. The Location entry is filled in when you visit each part of Gaia, and the NPC section fills in as you speak with (or do quests for) NPCs. An NPC Entry might look like this: "Rina" Rina A girl I met in Barton Town. She runs a little flower shop. In fact, sometimes I think she loves flowers a bit too much. I caught her eating on earlier. She's a bit of a ditz, but her heart's in the right place. All of the guards seem to love her. And so on. You can return to the little girl's home to read to her. Reading to her with certain entries in your log may unlock quests. (I.E. She might want to know more about Blaze). These quests can be completed at any time. When you complete a chapter, the little girl will give you a recipe relating to that chapter, a good deal of charge orbs, and a badge.
"BrentLorend" Area: Features/Other (not sure) Summary: AoE Zone/pinpoint Explanation: For rings with an AoE, you really should have SOMETHING to tell you where that AoE is. I can't count how many times I've wanted to use my Hornet's Nest on an enemy and, without anything to tell me the range of the effect, miss my target(s) completely. Also, being able to pinpoint the center of an AoE on an enemy you've already selected, instead of having to select a point in space seperately with a mouse click, would be nice as well. Pictures and ExamplesNone at this point
"CharstarWishes" Area: Others Summary: Badges Tab In Game, Player Info in Game Explanation: Please add a Badges Tab in Player Info inside the game so we can see (Visually see our Badges ) I have a hard time sorting through the list looking to see if I have finished the quest. I know they are shown in the completed quest area outside the game I would love to look at them while in safe areas of the game. Might be fun to list Badges total to a players stats as well Pictures and Examples Just imagine another tab with badges shown next to the Collectibles tab
"S M E E" Area: Other suggestions Summary: A series of zOMG-related emotes Explanation: It would be nice to have a "camping" emote, for instance, to subtly inform users that you're trying to camp in a certain place. that way other users know that a) as much as it is appreciated, you really don't need any help fighting the monsters b) you're not currently looking for a crew, but thanks and c) it isn't very nice to try to camp there, too. there could be emotes for many other things as well, such as a "looking for crew" emote (and the opposite, a "soloing" one). users could even earn emotes for winning some of the badges, maybe? a "thank you" emote might be fun for thanking all the nice people willing to defib and heal their fellow users.
"Kinxed" Area: Features Summary: Have a "your best record" kind of thing where it tracks how long it takes you to do the Guantlet. Explanation: Kind of like the Hive where it keeps track of how many spawns and rounds you make it through you can have the option of timing your run through the Gauntlet and try to get the best record. There will be a list available of who has the best time on the server kind of like the Goof thing and maybe a badge or some kind of reward for having the best time. Pictures and ExamplesNo need for one....
"XxCoco BananaxX" Area: Other suggestions [Rings?] Summary: Light at night Explanation: At night, everything goes dark... WAY dark! So the idea would be either a ring that would provide light (although it's not so great, because you'd have to use a space just to have light) or, even better, the character could glow - I know, I know. Glowing is not a good word for it. But still, there could be some light around the character, to light at least the immediate area - maybe the strongest ring lighting the area?
PWNTSAUR Area: Features Summary: A list of crews displaying their mission/reason for coming together along with a button to join that crew (if spots are available). Explanation: The incessant spammage of crew-invites annoys many. The easy solution: A list of existing crews with the mission/incentive of the crew (orb farming, kokeshi doll quest, fountain game, etc...) displayed right next to the crew leader's name. Once the crew is filled, the crew is "hidden" from the list and players may not send any more requests to join said crew. This by no means renders the recrewt list obsolete: if crews wish to remain private, they'll be "hidden" from the crew list and must recrewt friends into their crew.(explained by the picture) Pictures and Examples:
Archwizard Drake Area: Miscellaneous/Other Summary: Anyone here play World of Warcraft? Think Shattrath City... or Strand of the Ancients. *is a nerd* Explanation: Basically, in a specific town that hasn't been introduced yet (say, for example, Durem), there can be two (or more) factions/gangs that you have to gain favor with to access special areas/items/quest-chains(/Ghi Abilities?), and gaining favor with one causes certain NPCs to change their reactions with you. OR In two different towns like Durem (west) and Aekea(east) [two towns on the polar opposite sides of the known world] there are two groups/gangs that openly oppose each other and base themselves in one of those two towns, and they grant you access to their secret hideout and a Siege-type minigame where you try to destroy the enemy's base with town-specific weapons (like the Water Balloon war we had over the summer on Gaia in '07). Playing this 'Siege-type minigame' may even cause changes to the environment, making Animated more/less hostile and make NPCs give you quests to fix the 'devastation'. This could be an ongoing thing too, so the battle continues and allows newer players to catch up with their friends.
Endiriana Area: Other Summary: Finding people that are not on your friendlist or in your crew Explanation: there should be a command like "/search <username>" and then on the map will appear a dot or when the user is not on the same server as you a message will appear like "the user you are searching for is on another server than you" and maybe name the server he/she/it is on. Pictures and Examples in chat: Player A: could someone help me? Player B: sure, where are you? Player A: I'm at a tree. Player B: stare wait, I'll search for you! Player B: /search Player_A
or if he/she is not in the same area as you: picture Or the alternative, suggested by Jebrone Kitty Explanation: There can be a /search [UserName] (Or /Find [UserName]) Command. It will search for the person you are looking for and tell you the area they are in. This could give you an idea of what your friends are doing and help find them much easier! Its hard finding and hanging out with friends if you dont know where they are. Pictures and Examples Input "/search jebrone+kitty" Output "Jebrone+Kitty is at Barton Town" Input "/find jebrone+kitty" Output "Jebrone+Kitty is at Sea Lab"
GamesTesterJan Area: Features Summary: Recrewt Menu Filter [Clan] Explanation: Clan member filter on the recrewt menu.
Fullacreme Area: Other: Summary: User Interface/Controls. Keyboard controls for powerup items. Explanation: Whenever I use a ring polisher or supercharger, I have to use my mouse, find and click on the item, then click back into the battle window to resume fighting. I would be much happier if I could assign keys to the powerup bar to control them just like the rings.
keito melfina Area: Other Summary: Boss Super Moves! Explanation: Any boss that has a finishing move, but doesn't kill the players in range entirely (at least leaves 1 HP)... But after the usage, the Boss has 5 seconds of resting time, giving players time to heal. I wonder if She-Wolf can have some sort of Supersonic Howl super move... AoE would just be Full Screen on all players, causes slight knockback for each hit (5x hits). The attack would be the She-Wolf howling, having the sound shockwave to everyone hearing it... *shudders*
SykoCaster Area: Other Summary: Put a stop to monsters kamikaze attacks. Explanation: Quite simply, if you're CL 10, and going through Village Greens, no Gnome in their right mind should be attacking you. If you're passing through monsters that're purple, they really shouldn't attack. It's annoying, not only from the CL10's position, but from the lower CL's as well, as higher levelers are attracting monsters they don't need to.
Java Robot Area: Other Summary: Have rings that are relevant to areas drop there. Explanation: I feel it is kind of inappropriate that a sand fluff would drop a Fire Rain ring. Why not make it more appropriate by making Tiny Terror Shaman drop it instead? Or have Bootsnakes drop Teflon spray? What about Sand Castle Golems dropping Hack or Slash rings? Sand fluffs dropping Quick Sand rings? It would be easier for players to locate rings they want as opposed to getting the same old rings they don't want, and being stuck with them.
Dragoon-Girl Area: Other Summary: Some interface things to sort out some things I think just get in the way. Explanation: Okay, so I am fed up with having to choose between a map or my party and the wing thing is always in the way, it seems unneeded, but I don't like to close it so I can keep track of my level and orb amount. I don't like to make the game window smaller for the other things as I find that just makes it harder to play. So I have a few changes that try to remedy that, I wondered does it need to be in that, can it not be a part of the top bar? So here's my mock ups in the next section, I'm sure they can be far improved on but for the general idea. Pictures and ExamplesI'll start with how the wing is now, Link As if you really needed to see what it looks like.. anyway, I find it simply covers the top corner to much and moving it just seems to cover other things and I miss it when it's closed, it also goes straight back to the top corner when opened and closed.. hassle. So my mock up is: Link
We have the gold up there already, what's wrong with having the other few things there to? For the next one is the party.. again how it is now.. Link You can see how big and chunky it is, in the way and if I was to move it, it just covers something, I like to be able to keep track of my party, including seeing where they all are, so closing the map is just bad. But sometimes I have to do that. My mock up is: Link No background, the buttons could be be moved to the bottom bar somewhere, maybe made a bit bigger, I think it would be far easier to keep track with something like this, it should also be click through and selecting party members info can be moved.
Satai Satyrica Area: Others Summary: Considering the amount of complaints about chest thieves, maybe its time to incorporate a different approach? How about using a key system instead? Explanation: Keys would drop from enemies in the area that would open the equivalent chest. Users could still take out surrounding enemies to get to the chest (maybe the chest would give a better drop because of the kills?) Pictures and ExamplesOtami keys would open otami chests, zen garden keys for zen garden chests etc
zephryl Area: Other Suggestion Summary: Trading CL10 rings in for relevant items. Explanation: Once you get a ring to CL10 you can exchange the ring for its Equippable equivalent. Pictures and ExamplesE.g Mantis Ring would trade for an equippable Silver Katana of some kind with various floating-sword poses.
Crymea Area: Other Summary: Ring/Ornaments-Special Ornament Explanation:unlock a special ring after all 8 rings were upgraded to 10.0 CL. Only one ornament can be selected. It will be a passive skill or Active skill duration 300 secondsCrown: raise Willpower x30% lower Dodge by x20% [Health not affected] good for Melee player Necklace: raise Health x40% lower Willpower by x20% [Dodge not affected] Healer/Range player Anklet: raise Dodge x50% lower Health by x 20% [Willpower not affected] Support/Range player
arieda Area: Features Summary: An automatic chest closer power-up. Explanation: On Gold Beach, I see a lot of people hanging around the chests, waiting for them to close. I came up with the idea of a power up, like the double-orb power ups or the ring polisher power ups, which will automatically close the chest so you don't have to wait. I have no idea how easy or difficult it would be to program one of those, since I'm not a programmer, but I figured I'd throw the idea out there. :3
