It was really awesome. As I told my guard coach, I live for competitions. biggrin
We had to show up at the school at 7:15 AM, and that meant I had to get up at like 5 because I was at my dad's and it takes an hour and a half to get there. Plus I had to eat breakfast before I got there. xD
Then one of my trombone friends I've made this year (probably the most friendly out of all of the trombones, even though I love all the trombones to death biggrin ) came upstairs saying, "Hey, your Young Life buddy's here," and I was like, "Huh?" And he said, "Kimmi."
And then I flipped out and ran all the way down the hill to the parking lot to hug my best friend whom I hadn't seen in...months, I think. Maybe less but it was a long time and Facebook doesn't really help. Lol
Then we rode on our longest bus ride of the season (2 hours, about) to our competition at Ohio State University, and all the way up Kimmi and I sang music on her mp3 player...which made my throat really sore but oh well. xD
Finally we got there...we ate lunch, and got dressed, and my guard coach put our hair up in this REALLY pretty style...I'll have to post a picture if I ever get my hands on a good one. biggrin Anyway, we all looked really pretty. :3
Then we warmed up, and finally we were on our way to the huge stadium! I was nervous and excited and kind of numb because I couldn't believe we were actually going to perform! And the performance turned out way better than I expected. The guard was together a lot of the time, even on the third song which has been pretty bad in recent practices. xD
then we got to go upstairs and watch a video of our performance! That was really nice...but I got kinda annoyed with the school because they didn't have a guard. Lol =P
Then we went back down to watch the other bands that came after us. I sat with Kimmi of course and talked to other people occasionally...we waited about fifteen minutes just to get food, and it was outrageously expensive, but at least it was delicious. :3 mmmm, hot dog, nachos, and hot chocolate...that's what I had. =D
Finally we watched OSU perform...and omg, they were amazing and really fun to watch! Though they did kinda creep me out a lot at first because they were all perfectly together and moved in jerky, abrupt, exaggerated movements, like robots. XD
We didn't get any awards...and we were one of only four bands that qualified for state...and we got a III rating...but oh well. I still had a blast. =P
And on the way home I talked a lot with my friend Kimmi. We caught up on everything in each other's lives and I was once again reminded why she's my best friend. like I said...facebook really does nothing. I dunno, it's jut no substitute for seeing each other in real life. So it was really nice. Then we started to sleep because it was really late...but then I started talking to other people. And we got back to school at about 10 PM and then I went back to dad's house and fell asleep immediately, very satisfied. :3
Oh! And I saw this amazingly cute Asian guy! But I'm gonna try and not be so crazy because...well, my guard coach was right...that is kinda racist. XD
But he was cute!! biggrin
