I thought the day would just be your average, run of the mill days...That was my first mistake. After settling down to begin my astronomy homework (which was due the next day) the phone rang. Being busy with my studies, I couldn't answer it, but the caller was persistant. Eventually the reciever was picked up and the next thing I know, I'm hurrying out the door while hearing vauge references about a kitten found in a shed.
After having gotten to the scene, the whole thing was made clear. The mysterious caller had actually been one of my friends. While walking his dog, he hear a strang sound coming from the inside of a nearby shed. Going in to investigate, he discovered a small silver kitten trying to catch a mouse that was the same size. Since he did not know how to care for such a young creature, he figured my family would be the best.
Nothing is known about this kitten. We think she is only four weeks old, and the only survivor of a wild litter. Sadly, we have no idea what happened to the mother. My friend found some bones inside the shed that could have been the remains. We could only deduce that a fishercat had killed the poor kitten's mother.
Now she is at our home and doing well. She does not have a name yet, but the right one will come sooner or later. Her stomach is full of kitten formula and she is loved and adored by all. She seems healthy enough and she will hopefully recover from her traumatizing beginings to live a long and happy life.
