"I take it that means he's coming out"Alric questioned as he muttered the incantation to a spell a rock barrier appeared around Kilara'this hasn't been my week attacked twice in an hour and now im helping a vampire possessed person'Alric mentally complained as he gripped his hands his claws reappering
" I don't think... That's going to help," Wraith said through clenched teeth. The pain was growing stronger now, and the pounding in his head was growing stronger too. He fell to his knees and held his head in his hands.
" I think... You'd better run," he gasped.
"I think i'll stay I dont know how close anything human or close to it is so I can't risk your possesor to go after them besides I'll be fine"lric said with a rather un-serious grin
Wraith's eyes became blood-red. He couldn't hold back Echo much longer. He felt his fangs growing, and the pain became so unbearable that he had no choice but to surrender to Echo's control.
Echo stood up and looked at Alric and Kilara.
" Hello boys and girls, I'm baaaack," he said. He smiled, showing his fangs.
"Nice to meet you Echo"Alric said smiling in a disarming manner as Zair squaked angrily at him"so now that you have Wraith for the night what do you intend to do"Alric asked curiously
" Well, first, I'm going to kill you and that girl who I encountered last night, then I'm heading off towards that town that you fled a while ago. Just because I'm not active during the day doesn't mean I can't see through Wraith's eyes and read every thought in his little head," Echo said. He drew Wraith's sword and pointed it at Alric.
" I can see you want to fight me, so go ahead, I'm giving you the first move," he said. In the hand he had behind his back, he was holding Wraith's darkness crystal.
"I would make my move but I dont want to fight and I dont feel comfortable with that little gem hiding behind your back"Alric said exiting Wraith/Echo's mind"so why dont you go first"Alric suggested
" Ah, so you're a mind reader, how interesting. I must warn you that I, too, am a mind reader, as well as some other interesting abilities," Echo said. He ran at Alric with the sword pointing at him.
"I'm interested in these other abilities"Alric said standing still till the sword was almost at him'Hope Wraith isn't too attached to the sword'Alric thought as he sidestepped bringing his right hand up the claws cutting the sword into multiple pieces
Echo threw the shattered sword to the side and he took out the darkness crystal.
" You have no idea how powerful my abilities are, but I'll show you some later, when I beat you to a pulp!" he yelled. Out of the crystal shot a hot black beam and it struck one of Alric's claws.
Alric held the claw that was struck tightly"what is that crystal"Alric said as he gripped his hands making his claws return into his hands "maybe Wraith was right I shoulda ran"Alric mumbled angrily
Echo laughed.
" I don't need any sword to defeat someone as pathetic as you, my powers are feared by all who oppose me!" he laughed. He reached out a hand quickly. He gripped Alric's shoulder and began to drain his life-force.
Alric shuddered as he fell to his knees"bad idea"Alric said smiling as he waved his finger back and forth he focused on where Echo's hand was purposefully unsealing a wound some blood seeped through the cloth igniting on contact with Echo's skin
Echo screamed and pulled his hand back.
" What the!?!" he exclaimed. His hand was badly burned, but it didn't matter to him. If this mortal could summon fire from his blood, then Echo could come up with something better. He pulled out the darkness crystal again and uttered some words that Alric couldn't understand. The crystal levitated by itself. Echo spread his arms and the crystal was actually absorbed into his body. Echo stared at Alric.
" You have no idea what's coming next," he said. His body glowed with a black aura as his body took the shape of a giant cobra. When the transformation was complete Echo was ten times Alric's size.
" Pepare to die!" Echo hissed. He wrapped around Alric's body and began to squeeze.
"forgive me if I do not return lady Kagalie"Alric muttered as he struggled angrily"a snake very original"Alric joked weakly as he opened his mouth releasing a jet of flame directly down he could feel the heat 'very re-energizing'Alric thought as he smiled feeling the warmth"but can you take the heat"
Echo hissed a laugh.
" I learned my lessssson when you did that fire trick with your blood. You're going to have to come up with sssssssomething better!" he hissed, ignoring the jet of flame. He squeezed harder and continued to absorb Alric's life-force.
"well let me switch my choices then"Alric said weekly smiling he spoke a magic incantation his eyes clouded over into a dark blue as he finished the last syllable an aura of frost surrounded Alric"hopefully this hurts you more than it hurts me"Alric said glaring angrily for the first time in many years
Echo hissed with pain and he released Alric.
" You have many trickssssss I sssseee!!!!" he hissed," Time for a change of ssspieciessss!!!"
The black aura surrounded Echo again and he changed into a giant panther.
" I hope this is to your likeing!" he growled. He jumped at Alric.
Alric smiled"your a kitten what have I to fear"Alric said forgetting the curse of that spell"I hate this spell rhymes I dont want to hear"Alric complained closing his mouth he gripped his hands the claws erupting all but the one struck earlier Alric stepped to the side flexing his hand tauntingly extending it then drawing it back
Kilara sat calmly up in her tree, She'd already had to deal with Echo. And besides he looked much stronger. Well, if I have no other choice I'll get myself dragged into this, but for my I'm fine right here.
" Kitten? Well then if that's how you think of me, why don't you attack instead of screwing around with your burnt hand? I think a change is in progress..." Echo growled," I have only five hours till sunrise and I haven't eaten in two nights!"
Echo transformed into a griffon, and, forgetting Alric, flew off towards the town.
