Okay...so I'm a little late with this announcement here, but yup...we're definitely Beta. That means it's just a matter of time now until this game is being played by all you great Gaians out there.
We currently (8/11/200 cool have over 7,000 testers in the beta, and that number is ballooning up. We've achieved some great stability on the servers (still tuning it, of course) and we can handle scads of users on a single server now.
Now that we have stable servers, we can concentrate on killing bugs...and boy, there are lots of them to kill. (MMOs are very complex beasties.) But we're making great progress.
How soon will the game be launched? We said the "end of summer", and we're still on target for that...so stay tuned. You won't be much older than this when you're playing the game. smile
If you're interested, I tend to keep regular reports of the "zETA" tests on my Profile, so stop by sometime for a news tidbit or two.
