yay!! yesterday was the last day of the fair! even with lots of things accomplished, there is still a TON left to do...
ok so the day started with going into willmar at 6 so I could be working in the foodstand by 6:45 for an appreciation breakfast for the donators who contributed financially to 4-H this past year. It wasn't like working usual foodstand- it was actually like serving at church- I had to go around and pour coffee. it was kinda crappy because the coffee pot I had had the bottom of it was starting to fall off, so every time I went to pour, more came out the bottom of the pot than into the cup... rolleyes oh well. it was only an hour and a half long (counting our breakfast and photo ops afterwards), so it wasn't all that bad! ^^
and then after that I went and walked around the fair for a little bit until I had to help with the Art in the Park dealy in front of the Log Cabin at 10. I did tattoos (lol i got two of them myself... self-inflicted experiments, you might say...) along with a girl named Charity. I had talked to her a bit that morning at the breakfast, and she helped me with tattoos and we became friends. ^^ I got her number when she and her cousin (ironically I already knew her cousin from GEMS- she was in my class) were texting nonsense to each other... i was texting her a little bit ago, actually... ^^ she is going to state fair, too, so I'm thinking our paths will cross once again soon... btw Karen is also going to state with me because there were a few extra trips... mom thought that she and I could keep each other company. probably true. =]
so after that I went to the barns for a bit, then wandered around with mom i think (can't really remember all that well... i'm thinking I stayed in the barn most of the day reading my book so I'll probably finish it today...) for a bit then went back to the barns to relax... mom had given Karen money so she could buy herself and I tickets into the Demo Derby that night at 7, so when she texted saying that she and her new male bud Dan, I excused myself from the barns (my aunt Lori and her son, Matthew, had come in about 5 minutes before the message so i was talking to them... Lori used to show cattle when she was in high school (we actually use her showbox as our showbox...) so she was really excited to come back to it. ^^) and went with them to the derby. it was awesome!!! whee we sat in the front row, so sometimes we got spattered with flying clumps of mud from the cars... rolleyes lol karen got one in her eye... xD but it was fun. ^^ was actually kind of comical because if you ignored the noise the altered engines made, it was actually quite funny to see these cars going like 3 miles an hour across the mud and bump into each other and not have any effect... xD dad told me today that when he went the grandstand at the state fair when he was a kid, they had derbys there, but they were on tar... that would be freakin' awesome!! cool none of this muddy slow crap.... xD my dad used to go for the state fair with a program that doesn't exist anymore, and he stayed for the entire fair once, and got to usher into the grandstand every night so he got in for free... 3nodding
so yeah... and then after that we packed up and headed home... i was really tired actually when I got home (after I had a bit of a minor crying fit after reading a certain very self-destructive journal entry by jenna... ) so i went to bed without doing a journal entry... rolleyes and today was rather interesting at church... kind of... my movie had to eventually be burned to a DVD, and it really messed up the fonts and formatting that I had put into it... so i made an enemy of cory's computer and of DVD burning in general... evil then after that we went to Culver's for lunch, and now i'm here. ^^ before we headed home, we stopped at Cashwise and Karen is renting the One Piece game for Wii. she seems to be enjoying it... (not getting very far very fast though... stare ) i'll have to try it before she has to bring it back...
now i must pet my cat (who's bugging me now...) ttyl! =]
