Dear Diary,
Something strange has been going on and I haven't been able to write muh lately. Yes, I am aware that those are a very boring and cliche selection of words, but it is most definitely adequate.
It began with Sakura TV receiving a series of tapes claiming to be from Kira. Public figures were killed on television for speaking badly of Kira. Long story short, we have acquired the tapes, Yagami-san is out of the hospital, and we lost Ukita. The behavior of Kira in this event was off. Kira killed innocents to prove he was Kira. It was too uncharacteristic of him. In addition, the video quality of the tapes was too amateurish to have been from the real Kira. I have come to the conclusion that this was not Kira, but in fact a mimic. A second Kira.
The mere thought of someone even wanting to copy, to idolize a psychopath like him is frightening. This someone seems to share Kira's method of killing, which makes it all the more dangerous. If there is one Kira idolizer who has gone to the public, I am sure that there are more. They are just in hiding. This does not bode well.
I have decided to use this opportunity to bring Raito-kun in to the investigation. I am sure that his insight to the current situation will mirror my own. He is, after all, my equal.
For the first time in days, I am sure that my body is in need of sleep. Will the mind ever rest? Insomnia does not treat me kindly.
