Dear Diary,
Raito-kun is under suspicion of being Kira. It's positive. He moves too carefully and too on the spot, especially with the coffee shop incident. The entire time I sat there, it felt as though we were rehearsing off a script of a play.
On second thought, maybe he isn't Kira? He could just be equal to my capabilities in thought processing and evidence evaluating. After all, we both scored a perfect 100% on the exams.
Regardless, I have asked him to join the task force after his father recovers from the heart attack. I don't believe the heart attack was related to Kira, because if it were, Yagami-san would be dead.
Conclusion: I would like to keep personal surveillance on Yagami Raito.
In a lighter note, I called the Wammy house today. As usual, Near spoke very little. I could imagine him just nodding yes with that near-blank expression on his face.
Then Mello. That boy speaks to me like I am a god to be worshiped. If he would realize that he is brilliant and doesn't need to try and best Near at ever angle possible, then he would be a most fitting successor.
Lastly, I spoke with Matt. Being the only of the three that can make me smile, it's expected that he is also the most normal of them all. When I speak with him, it's as though we're equals. I would place him as my first successor if it weren't for his obvious disinterest in solving crimes. He sits around all day playing games, but I don't disapprove, because it has dramatically increased his hacking capabilities. If only he would try harder, he would definitely be able to surpass Near. Maybe some of his relaxing influence would rub off on to Mello then the boy wouldn't be absolutely obsessive over being the best. Considering that the two are always together, it wouldn't be too bad if Mello's hard-working mindset influenced Matt. It's bound to happen sometime. They're practically joined at the hip. (Well, they were last time I checked.) It's as though Matt would do anything for the boy.
