Oh yes. Yesterday, I went to the mall with my father and my little brother. I then realized something that I wanted to do ever since I read about it. Persona 3 as a mental hospital drama. Yes, it's been done, but I think I can do it much better. >.>. Of course, my version of better tends to be more description, less grammatical errors, and more inane plot. I'm very very focused on internal things rather than external things such as emotions rather than battle. Though, as I've said before and for those of you who have been to my profile and read "Varwin vs Tetsuia", I'm pretty good at writing battle scenes. I might not have any idea of actually playing around with magic rituals such as "summon fire", but I can do a decent write of a Harry Potter battle, I think, using magic since it's just like firing a gun...while saying words.
Anyways, let the free write for Persona 3 begin. I would also like to point out that it is currently 12:00 pm which I find ironic considering the subject I'm writing about. Some of you might recognize traits from the roleplay characters I usually use.
Persona 3 Fanfic Planning - Characters
Minato Arisato - Protagonist of the roleplay. I would not like to make him shy but more cautious about social situations. The story will be very Minato and Aigis-centric, though I will include the other people. I would also like to state that there will be no "powers" in this roleplay, but there will be a mysterious case of Apathy Syndrome going around which Minato gets. I will thank the fanfiction I read for it. He's abnormally intelligent and rarely says anything (Lol, Silent protagonist more). Like all stories, a good story will show changes in some characters. Minato will be one of these characters.
His father used to be an old friend of Takeharu Kirijo.
Aigis - Second protagonist. Aigis's parents were drunk on the moonlight bridge and ended up crashing into Minato's parents' car. Both sets of parents did not survive, and Aigis suffers major brain damage to her frontal lobes, lobotomizing her. However, in the crash, both children were able to see each other and that is why Aigis ends up dedicated to Minato. Misplaced guilt for her parents' actions. In the course of the roleplay, she learns to become more human. I want to introduce her early in the story rather than later. Her gifts is the ability to analyze complicated mathematical equations and many board games such as chess or "I-go" which allows her placement into Gekkoukan High School.
Junpei Iori - Junpei is not actually part of the hospital drama, but he does visit a very familiar girl: Chidori. Though he plays the part of the class clown, he only did it after his freshman year after his mother got a restraining order on his drunk no-good father...currently in jail. Junpei will remain rather static as a character, other than the fact that he learns to look to the future rather than for the moment which happens when Chidori takes a turn for the worse. I think Junpei personally is pretty mature in a way, not allowing things to actually get him down. He's accepted that he isn't too smart and that he is a definite slacker, but, if his actions make someone happy inside, he'll gladly make himself look like a fool.
Chidori - Chidori has clinical depression combined with the fact she likes to mutiliate herself. The hospital is keeping her as part of a test study since her injuries don't scar and it heals rather quickly. Not quickly in the sense of "regenerative healing", but a cut that normally takes 5 days to heal will heal 3 days for Chidori. Chidori and Junpei have met each other in the same matter. "Whatchya drawing?" "Go away, you're annoying" Chidori's parents don't want anything to do with her.
Chidori is trying to sort through her feelings for Junpei, unfamiliar with this odd feeling that keeps flowing through her when she thinks of him. In a way, she considers this feeling as painful for her as it is so foreign. It spawns why she takes a turn for the worse.
Yukari Takeba - Yukari Takeba, a girl who is looking for truth about her father. She hates her mother lol like in the other Persona series. She is another "normal" person, but she visits a girl in the hospital, Fuuka. Yukari doesn't know about Chidori yet when it comes to Junpei and just finds Junpei as an annoying class clown...even though she knows that Junpei's actions do bring humor in her heart...that and lightheartedly "beating on him" is fun too. Yukari, like Junpei, lives in the now, but she also dwells on the past like Mitsuru. She has some level of antipathy for Mitsuru who is the face of the Kirijo who took him away from her.
Don't worry folks. She still wears the same obnoxious amount of pink...which is kinda disconcerting since everyone else wears the school uniform. She becomes a love interest for Minato, who is oblivious to her likings.
Fuuka Yamagishi - Fuuka is extremely meek with no confidence whatsoever. When she is found lying naked in the gym tied by those girls, she breaks down. Her parents were not exactly helpful with the matter, and that is why Fuuka finds her in Tatyumi Medical Hospital for treatment. Fuuka is amazing at deducing things with very very little information which makes people sometimes think she's psychic in a way. As a result from her breakdown and her nervousness, she can "oracle" things in advance with a pretty decent amount of accuracy, being able to extrapolate things she's seen. She's also above average in terms of academics which is how she ended up in [Lol, I wanted to write Kishimoto. XD XD XD.] Gekkoukan.
Fuuka turns into a meek girl into a strong one with her interactions with Minato, Yukari, Mitsuru, and Shinji. I think she becomes a love interest with Shinji since it'd sort of make sense with Fuuka going with someone who can protect her and Shinji requiring a calming balancing force to his impulsive nature.
Mitsuru Kirijo - Mitsuru is a controlling cold-hearted beautiful rich perfect female to the rest of her classmates. However, to those that know her, she has the same insecurities as everyone else...perhaps more. Shinji and Akihiko are the ones who know her initially, but the rest of the group ends up seeing more of her insecure side. She has to take Triptophan which is prescribed for nervousness and needs to take sleeping pills.
She has to be the best and this ends up being self-destructive when she just collapses out of nowhere in front of the groups. She's an insomniac who ended up being too dependant on her pills.
Mitsuru is in charge of the hospital group when they are at school.
Takeharu Kirijo - His death will be foreshadowed in the story by Mitsuru making an offhanded comment of making some business mergers and needing to testify against a Nanjo group employee.
Takaya - Takaya gets a gun. Takaya is about to shoot Ken. Takaya shoots Shinji instead. Shinji ends up in coma. Takaya runs away. What moron gave Takaya a gun? [Technically that would be me.] Anyways, Takaya will be introduced VERY early in the story with him yelling "SALVATION. SALVATION. BOW YOUR HEAD DOWN TO NYXXXXXXXXX..AAAAAIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE." That would be Takaya getting hit with a stun gun. XD.
Takaya might meet his end at the hands of an enraged Fuuka.
Jin - Jin is a pyromaniac (more like grenade maniac) which is why he stays inside the hospital. However, he is allowed a computer because he would be impossible to control without one. Jin ends up being popular because his eccentricies make him the perfect programmer/hacker. He goes to Gekkoukan under heavy guard aka Shinji who is not too happy about the arrangements either.
Jin finally runs away with Takaya after the confusion in the hospital along with several more of Takaya's cult members. =D.
Shinji - Shinji has been through the school of hard knocks. Completely alone parental-unit wise after his father killed his mother and committed suicide, Shinji had been in an orphanage along with a girl named Miki Sanada and Akihiko Sanada. The only problem is that a fire broke out killing Miki, which troubled both of them for life. Shinji is an awesome cook though, able to make edible on what's out there. He ends up being close to Mitsuru in the middle school as with Akihiko because of introductoins through a special program which allows orphans to attend school. He liked Miki as well which was probably why he was so cold.
Shinji's heart, never bringing anyone closer than Akihiko or Mitsuru, thaws when he meets Fuuka in the hospital and says some pretty harsh things to her to show that he cared.
Akihiko - Akihiko Sanada wants to be a boxer when he grows up, but he also wants to have strength to save his friends. As a result, Akihiko doesn't lose even in the ring. Mitsuru constantly reprimands him for his lack of dedication in his studies, but he constantly states that he'll probably end up as a boxer anyways. With reflexes trained in an abusive orphanage and from Shinji's odd relationship with him, he's confident that he'll be able to become great.
Akihiko's stubborness becomes thawed a bit after meeting with Junpei, and he finally notices that sometimes it's better to give in...even with matters not involving Mitsuru. I am thinking of making Akihiko and Mitsuru a couple, simply because I find it the most logical to do considering their history....er...I have to make one since the Persona project isn't effective anymore.
Pharos Mochizuki - Pharos is the younger of the two Mochizuki brothers and is probably considered one of the more insane. Visited by his older brother and Ken Amada (whom he's a lot less psychotic with), his room is normally filled with lots of mathematical equations stating on what is the end. Pharos is also extremely playful and is a definite night owl. He usually has free reign among the nurses for being "so cute" and the fact that Ryoji Mochizuki, in the business world, has a lot of power and money...and will not like it if someone was bullying his brother. His mind snapped after being raped by one of his "supposed bodyguards" and is in the hospital for rehabilitation.
I want to make Pharos a character who goes from- Wow. There's going to be a lot of sidestories, heh heh. insanity -> breakdown again from realizing what he's suppressed -> on the road to recovery. Pharos's interactions with the main character will be rather humorous...if I can do it. He'll also make an appearance with some of the other people such as Chidori and Aigis.
Ryoji Mochizuki - Ryoji is heir to an extremely prosperous Mochi business called Tartarus. He also has several other major investments in several other business and is considered a major shareholder in the Kirijo business. He actually goes to Gekkoukan as a result of his accounting and business ventures. His parents have been dead for a long time as a result of their plane crashing. His only remaining family is Pharos and, after giving control to a board that he trusts, he moves to work at Gekkoukan.
Ryoji is still a playboy, heh heh. A rich one. And he's a bit spoiled. However, he does care for his little brother a lot which is why he's taken to wearing a yellow scarf everywhere after his brother had made it for him during "Arts and Crafts" at the hospital. He hits on Mitsuru before, and he is one of those males that learn the consequences. However, after Mitsuru realized who he was, Ryoji takes it all in stride. Ryoji interacts uniquely with Minato and is good friends with Ryoji...and Yukari doesn't like him...much. Aigis doesn't either, but she doesn't like Yukari either. >.>. Actually, she doesn't like anyone really getting too close to Minato in general.
Oh god, I want to make a sidestory about the end of the bodyguard. >.>
Ken Amada - Ken Amada still lives with his mother who was recently employed by the Kirijo corporation. He's still extremely driven as a result of his dead-beat father and works hard to make his mother proud. As a result of his maturity, he's ostracized by the other kids at school though he does know how to fight with his fists. He idolizes Akihiko, but his personality grates with both Junpei (whom he sees as a clown and slacker) and Shinji (with his percieved high and mighty attitude) However, as of late, he's been visiting the hospital to talk to Pharos who seems to be the only other person who can understand him...when he's not on a tirade about "the Fall" or "the End" (which sounds suspiciously like what Takaya says in a non-fanatic way).
Ken takes too many things at face value and starts to realize that the entire world is not separated into good or evil. Shinji continues to tell Ken though that if he wants to hate him, to hate him and use it as fuel for his strength even after he took a bullet for Ken. He learns to get along with people he percieves as not as mature as himself.

I think I will keep most of the social links except with some twists. =).
Wow. This freewrite tok me longer than an hour. An hour and five minutes actually. I think I was actually productive this time around. Ha ha ha. My mind feels warm and my fingers feel warm and my computer feels warm. XD. I think I'll plan the story at a later time. For those of you who are reading, please comment about my ideas that I'm implementing. This story will end up being epic-length with too many divergences and loose ends, but I WILL ENJOY WRITING IT. HA HA HA. xD
Oh yes.
This picture of Minato (left) and Pharos (right) made me happy inside. XD. Kudos to whoever drew it. ^^
