The moments fleeting,
The essence will be forever gone,
The vital key to our friendship,
Will be lost as the hours move on.
How do we continue?
It's been five years,
And we've come so far.
How do we do what's necessary?
When it means,
We have to say goodbye.
We will no longer see each other,
As often as we did,
We could close our eyes,
And open our hearts,
And find each other,
But the moments are gone,
For which we were physically near.
We have grown,
Well most of us.
We have matured,
If only in physically ways.
But, most importantly,
We have formed a bond that should never fade.
We are friends,
We were acquaintances,
There is so much we have shared,
The good times.
The bad times.
And even arguments,
We've shared.
We have learned together,
Both in class,
And settings outside.
We are now on the final stretch,
All this institute can teach us,
Has been neatly stitched into our minds.
Embedded in our heads,
Are the memories,
The do's and don'ts.
Our class and all the characters,
Even the ones,
For which we lost hope.
We are finally ready,
To graduate and leave behind,
All our mistakes,
All our errors,
And enter the future binded.
Binded to what we believe in,
Binded to what we were taught,
Binded to what we have learned,
Binded to what we've become.
We are young men and young women,
We thank all,
For what they've done,
They've helped us build character,
And help us shape what we've become.
As we leave,
We smile and wonder,
Will we ever meet again?
Will we ever be a class,
Even though we go our separate ways?
We can only trust ourselves,
To keep our standards high.
We can only trust ourselves,
To know to who and what we say goodbye.
I am sure that our friendships are strong,
And some will survive the test of time.
There is no time to be doubting,
Our losing our precious time,
For we are,
The graduating class of 2008,
Strong as we believe,
Intelligent in our unique manners,
And confident that we will succeed.
