I walked around my room getting ready for school. I freaked when I couldn't find my school bag I throw clothes all around my room looking for my bag, I ran down stairs and looked around in the places I usually put my bag down but nothing. I saw nothing I ran back up stairs and knocked on my brothers door "Jay...I can't find my bag" I said as I stood there waiting for him to open the door.
"go look" he said softly but loudly enough for me to hear him. I throw my hands up and walked back into my room and looked around again I looked in my closet and under my bed but no bag. I heard scratching at my door I turned around to one of the wolves ace standing there with my bag in his teeth I smiled and walked up to him bending down and grabbing the handle of the bag and hugged him.
"thank you how did you find it?" I asked him as I looked in side of it to see if everything was in place
"it was by the basement door. you put it there when you came down to see ruby" I laughed as I had just remembered it I nodded my head
"oh ya..." he turned and left the room going back to jay's door. I went and knocked on it again I could hear movement and mumbling I knocked again
"go wait down stairs....I'm coming" he said. I nodded and walked down stairs sitting on the couch and looked at jays collar on the table the collar that he never takes off right there I knew there was something wrong with jay but I couldn't put my finger on it. I waited for about 15 minutes and jay walked down with a blue shirt and some black faded pants his hair was all out and black. I could see his blood shot eyes through the wall of hair hiding his face. His eyes were usually light blue but now they were a light red I got up and walked outside waiting for him. Jay went to collage and had a part time job working for a guy he hardly knew but hated. Jay grabbed his keys and collar and walked out he put his collar on and locked the door to the house. Twisting the knob to make sure it was locked. He started to walk not saying a word I watched as the light flashed to his ear piece. I kept at a slow pace behind him watching his every move he had his hands in a jacket that he brought some time ago and his head down. I picked up the pace as we near our school "Jay?..." I said as I looked at him as we quietly walked he shifted his eyes to me in a cold stear and looked back ahead. "what's the matter?" I asked him as I watched him even more The light on his piece flashed faster and he pressed the button on the side
"yes?..." he asked quietly not looking around or at me. "Ya I'll be there in a sec" he said as he pressed the button again and crossed the street I followed him and caught up to him until someone grabbed me back. They hugged me from behind and it could only be one person
"Aww come on jarell I gotta keep up with jay..." he let out a sigh
"your brother is going to the collage side we have to go to high school" he said as he held my hand walking me over to the high school doors and walked in heading to the breakfast room. He sat down with his friends as I walked up to the line to get something to eat I got my food going back to the table to sit with jarell and his friends. I was always called runt so much that it became my nickname "hey runt" said jake with a wide grin across his face I rolled my eyes and waved not saying anything. I ate my breakfast and stood up as I heard the school bell ring class was about to start so I walked out and up to the second floor and went to my locker and got my books out for math class. Math early in the morning is not cool it makes me tired and everytime I get in there I just wanna put my head down and fall asleep but I gotta deal with it. The classes were not hard they were just boring I got in class and sat in the back row putting my notebook down and started to draw in it.
"Alright class...right now were just gonna take notes and rest will be math problems out of your book...I have the page numbers on the board now get started" The teacher said as he sat at his desk. I started to take my notes and Jarell walked in class late he sat beside me and opened his notebook and began to take notes as well.
"what made you late?" I asked as I kept my head down he laughed and looked at me
"I really don't care what time i get here...pluse I had to stop by the men's room." He said with a smirk he then looked back at his own book when I finished my notes I went right to the math problems knocking them out with out trying so hard. They were easy just like I said. I then looked at jarell as he looked at me "you are a geek" he snickered I shook my head and put it down.
"Mr. Windam...May i ask what's so funny?" roared the teacher Jarell looked up and stopped his childish laughing
"nothing Sir..." he said as he went back to his work he then looked back over to me "you know its true..." he said finishing his notes and going to the problems. I stood up and walked to the teachers desk
"may I have a note to use the bathroom?" I asked the teacher he nodded his head and wrote me a note. I walked out the room I felt sick to my stomach as I walked the halls I held the walls to give me suport I felt weak in the knees and I could no longer stand. I throw up on the floor and stood there my vision getting blurry and I blacked out not remembering anything that went on next.
That evening I woke up in a hospital bed with IV's in me and Machine beeping I looked around and saw jay sleeping on the little couch next to the bed he had my collar in hand and his keys. I looked on the other side of me there was a door with a small window I could see out of it and saw all the nurses passing the room and going into others. Jay then woke up as his phone rang he quickly sat up looking at the time "damn..." he answered his phone "yes?.....ya i'm gonna grab something then come" he said into his ear piece as he stood up and stretched he hung up then noticed I was awake. "what were you doing to make you have a fever of 103?" he asked as he stood by the bed
~here we go...~ I thought "I don't know....I just remember not feeling well, throwing up, and passing out" I said as I looked at him. He rubbed his hair and looked around
"yea well...I got to work a duble shift...I will be back when i can" he said as he kissed my forhead and walked out passing a nurse that was coming in.
"I see your awake..." she smiled I nodded and watched her she took the cord off my IV and put the bar down "are you feeling ok?" she asked as she took out a thermometer and stuck it in my mouth gently. I waited till it beeped and she took it out my mouth I rolled over getting that feeling again "your temp is still up..." I sat up and throw up on the bed. "oh....alright hold on" she quickly walked out the room I sat there holding my head hoping nothing more would come up about three nurses came in and got me out of bed cleaning the bed and taking the sheets putting new ones on. I wished I wasn't sick so as I sat on the couch I grabbed my book bag and got back in bed and took out my homework. One of the nurses pulled a table over for me and I started my homework. As I did my homework it was about 6 o clock when someone knocked on the door and in walked Jays friend Kc he kind of looked just like him but not so much. I smiled and waved at him looking him over he was the same Hight as jay 6 feet tall, with blue eyes, short messy brown hair, with baggy clothes, He always woar a silver chain around his neckm, and he also had some tattoos he had one of his sisters name, one of a chain, and another of lettes going down his arm. I smiled and stopped my homework "hello Kc..." he smiled and sat a gift down with flowers
"hey what's up short stuff?" he laughed as he sat down in the chair
"nothing much just finishing some homework....Can you check this?" I asked as she held up the paper. Kc got up and grabbed it and sat back down reading it
"yea...That's good but I will check homework later jay send me over to look after you until his shift is over...But I got to make a call so i'll be right back" he said as he got up giving me the paper back and walking out. I laughed a bit knowing my brother sent him to look after me I looked at the gift Kc had got me it was from the whole crew telling me to get better. I smelled the rose and smiled then took them off the teddy bear it came on and hugged it. I laid down and closed my eyes trying to rest a bit Kc then came back in and sat down grabbing my books and began to check my homework.
Later I woke up looking around and saw Kc sitting on the couch on his phone he had his head on his hand rubbing his eyes. I looked around and saw the time was about 12:54 and I knew jay was about to get off from work. Kc looked up "hey the runt is up....yea I'll call you later"he said as he hung up he stretched and sat back "Jay coming soon...He went to get himself something to eat and a change of clothes..." I nodded and sat up a bit and looked at the door as the nurse walked in and came over to me taking my temperature as it beeped she took it out and gave a little gasp
"it went back up...." she said looking at Kc, Kc stood up
"anything you can give here to bring it back down?" he asked as he looked at me
"I got regular aspirin....That may help not sure.." she said as she walked out. Kc looked at me and sat down rubbing his head the door opened again and in walked jay
"sup kc...Hey kiddo" he said as he rubbed my head and sat next to Kc "I had someone make breakfast for me..." he said with a laugh as he started to eat. Kc laughed also and sat back watching me as I sat there looking down I was still feeling dizzy.
"I'm dizzy again..." Jay looked up
"what did the nurse say?" he asked as he swollowed his food
"she said that yumi is running another fevor..." Kc told him Jay sat his food down and got up walking over to me and putting his hand to my head. "they said they was gonna give her asprin.." kc told jay
"ya...what you feel like now?" he asked as he looked at me
"like I'm gonna throw up again." I told him as I held my head and closed my eyes. Jay walked out the room to get a nurse but she was coming in anyway she closed the curtins. I throw up again my eyes burning and my mouth stayed with that foul taste. I took the asprins and ate a cookie that the nurse had brought and layed down turning over so I could fall back to sleep. I could hear jay telling kc to go home and get rest and that he had to take off from work. I siged to my self and closed my eyes seeing the lights go out I also knew that was jay trying to be as nice as he could.
The next morning like four to five nurses came in the room jay was still sleep layed spread out on the couch. I sat up in bed and looked around hearing jays phone go off I watched him as he jolted awake and looked around he qickly grabbed his cell phone and sat up on the couch.
"hello?....oh yes....no I'm gonna pay it I just don't have enough money yet to pay it off" he said quietly as he rubbed his head some after talking a bit more he hung up and sat back fixing him self up and looking at me. I sat back in bed and watched the nurses as they checked over me and talked to one another I sat there shaking my leg and looking around
"um...I need to use the bathroom..." one of them nodded and walked to the side of the bed and the others filed out. Jay got up and walked into the bathroom closing the door and locking it the nurse helped me for what I needed and left when I was done. I layed down and looked around the room then jay came out the bathroom and stopped at the bed side "can you lay with me please?" Jay sighed and nodded taking down the bar and sitting me up so he could sit he sat behind me with one leg on each side of me and he pulled the bar back up and layed back rubbing my hair. I enjoyed the feeling and we stayed like that until I fell asleep again after a while I didn't feel the same way and I knew that jay had gotten up and left to get to work on what he working on. After my little nap I woke up and looked around seeing kc back "do you not have anything better?" Kc looked up and laughed
"watch it shorite...jay needed me to come so I came no big deal"
