Last night I watched an anime movie called Pat Labor - the movie. Unlike some people on here, I don't worship anime and all it's forms. I do appreciate quality (although I do enjoy bad movie now and than) and Pat Labor, like Ghost in the Shell, I feel is one of the better quality animes out there. the background is detailed, the characters have a quality that make them seem like real folks. Not made too beautifull and perfect and/or annoyingly cute. the plot line was very intelligent and made me want to pay attention to what was going on in the movie. The only draw back was the usual over-exagerated expressions of certain characters as they over-react to some situation.
However, all in all, I would recommend it. It's theme is more scifi, than fantasy.
