The Journey of a Lifetime Chapter 3
I heard it. It was a sad howl, from a creature that has had many challenges. It sound so lonely but I didn’t care. It was just probably another loner that just wants attention. People don’t call me heartless for no reason. Oh no, I have many reasons for being called heartless. One is because I don’t show my feelings and if I do the person I am showing them my feelings to usually die. I didn’t know how it felt to be lonely. When I was young I myself killed my family after they had tried to kill me. Once I got strong enough to fight and kill my family, I did. I killed them all and laid them next to each other so that they might be together in heaven. I didn’t care about them dying, it was just another day that passed away and so did some lives. That is all it was for me. A day when I became alone in the world, not caring what happened to me or the world. I never have and never will cry because of my family’s death. My family was just a burden to me. I wanted to be strong and when I wanted it most, an event changed my life. I was out in a clearing and I was still very young. I walked past a den not knowing that there were Fangthorn kits in there so I went into it. Well the mom was also in there and got up and scratched me across my side. I yelp in painful agony and ran out of the den. And so did the mother Fangthorn. I was running for my life when I noticed someone else chasing me. I screamed for the scratch on my side and eye stung and I was losing a lot of blood. I thought I was about to die. My body finally couldn’t take it and I collapsed with everything going black until everything eventually was dark. When I woke up, I found my self in a huge bedroom with a dresser, a bed, and someone in the far corner of the room. I was scared so I jumped out of the bed just to fall down on the floor. My body hadn’t healed enough for me to do any activities other than eats sleep and slowly get up to go to the bathroom. That was about the only thing my body was able to do for more than two weeks. I was mad at myself, I was so weak. Someone else had to save me but now I am happy that I did it because it gave me a way to become stronger. The one who saved me was an elf. She was an extremely nice woman. In fact after my body healed she taught me to use a sword, bow, and spear and staffs. She taught me all these things and not only these but also magic and strength. She taught me how to use my heart and even my soul in battle. This is a feat that even some people that have practiced and practiced for hundreds of years couldn’t even do but I learned the skill in three whole days. I practiced day and night but I finally got it down. I was able to release my soul in battle. It was hard work but it paid of in the end. After she taught me so many techniques, I decided something very important. It was on a cold winter night and I had finished my training. I was tired but I had made the decision this morning. I walked up to my trainer and said to her, “You have taught me so much. I don’t know how to repay you but I do know that I want to be your servant from now on. Do as you wish with me. I will serve you to the death of me.” She replied, “I have no need for you. Go off and never show yourself to us again.” “What? You yourself said a few days ago that you needed more warriors, didn’t you?” “I said that I needed more skilled warriors.” “Wait. Are you saying that I am not skilled enough for you?” “No, I am saying get out of my sight! I don’t want to see you anymore. I taught you everything I know. Now go!” I stood there in shock and repeated again, “You have taught me so much. I don’t know how to repay you but I do know that I want to be your servant.” My master said, “Forget it! You will never be strong enough to help me. Your powers are weak. You can’t even let your soul stay in battle for more than a minute. I can keep my soul in battle for days!” “I want to help you though. You have taught me so many techniques; I want to do something to pay you back for everything you have done for me. Please give me a chance.” “Alright, how about this, I will let you go for two years and when and if you return, you and I will fight to see if you have become stronger than when you left.” “It is a deal,” I said hoping that I would be stronger. I was bound to become her servant. I just knew it. I had so much will power that I just had to make it through those two years and become as strong as or stronger than my master. I then turned and said to my master, “Please stay around two years longer.” After this I ran off into the forest that surrounded my master’s house. I now didn’t want anything to do with my master for she had just refused me but I also knew that I had to go for the sake of my reputation. I was going to meet my master in two years so I set off for the only place I could think of, Midnight’s Lair. Midnight was one of my friends. She had saved me and then also raised me up when my parents had died. She was nice to me and in fact, she even let me go out on my own and that was when Kayrista, my master, found me. She had faith in my abilities although she was ready to help me if I ever needed it. I was going to her house when I heard the sound of a lonely howl rising up to the sky. I heard the same howl every night and I was on my way to Midnight’s Lair where no one dared go because there were legends that went around saying that no one goes into Midnight’s Lair and comes out again. I was about a thousand miles from here house when that howl finally got to me. I felt lonely. I had never felt loneliness before but this time I cried because I was so lonely. I decided to hurry and get to Midnight’s Lair so that I wouldn’t be lonely but before I could walk any farther, I collapsed. During the time I was passed out a miracle happened. When I woke up I was in Midnight’s Lair, on a bed that was made out of feathers. I sat up but then fell back down. More like collapsed back down because Midnight’s strength was to powerful. Everyone on this earth or planet has a certain power. That certain power is being able to tell how strong someone is. If the strength is to strong for you by like twice as strong as you your body will become unconscious and if that person or thing will show mercy to you, they won’t kill you. When you are next to someone of great power and you pass out, it is a sign of submission to that creature with higher power or strength than you. The reason why I passed out once I woke up was because Midnight was not hiding her strength, I didn’t know why but when I woke up I would find something that was very interesting. P.S. This is the 3rd chapter in my new book that I am writing. Hope you enjoy. Please comment
