Hearts of the Element- Ryan’s Romance

Prologue

I stood there, in the meadow, like I always did before school. The wind blew so softly that it barley moved my hair. But when it did, the wind twisted it almost teasingly. I took off my socks and shoes so I could freely feel the grass between my toes. On top of the hill, one could all see all of town. I could see from my favorite store to the tip of the lake. To the left of the lake was a forest that occupied the back of the school. An hour until class starts, I thought.

The school bells were tolling the eighth hour, in other words: I was going to be late for class. “Aw, crap! I forgot to wear my watch again!” I hurried to put my socks and shoes back on. It would take me at least forty-five minutes to get there. Ugh, did I even do my homework?, I pondered. Great, I wonder if Kai’s day is starting out this great. It was like any other day for any other , expect for the dying wind that no one seemed to notice.
