BIO: As a young boy Derek was abused by his mother, she was always drunk or high, and no matter how hard he tried the smell of cigarettes never seemed to leave him. More than once had the principal or teachers asked him if he smoked, every time he would say no, they still didn’t believe him. He lived a life without a father because he died in the Vietnam War when Derek was only a toddler. He doesn’t act like your normal gay guy, no preppy high pitched voice, no “oh my god! Those shoes look amazing!”. He is the most underlined gay man you will ever meet. Besides dressing nicely, girls tend to hit on him all the time! He tries not to be mean or cruel to them, but sometimes haunting memories of his abusive mother gets in the way, making him snap. He moved out of the house at the age of Sixteen, bought an apartment in the town of Asheville NC, continued going to high school until graduation (making the top of his class) while juggling a nighttime job at the coffee house. Now he’s a graduated student majoring in the field of Technology Development and minoring in Nutrition. His latest relationship ended badly and after receiving a letter in the mail to Japan, he feels it could be the very break he needs.
