Her blood ran down the pavement, tiny red rivers, mixing with the rain. Her body lay broken like some toy a careless child had grown tired of and discarded, under the wheels of a car. The lights and sirens seemed to echo my agony as they wailed to warn people to move. As they came to save this woman or what might be left of her.
My body ached to hold her, to keep her save from the vicious person that had done this to her. Longed to save her from this cruel world. All I wanted to do now was Hunt this person down.
“It’s Judie” I whispered to the medic.
