“Ugh,” I groaned, as I was putting on my dress. I cannot believe that Jake Moud. I hate him even more now! I should be working on my history project right now, but no, I have to go on a stupid double date with Jake Moud! When Anna’s back is turned, I’ll pound him to a pulp! I walked downstairs, all sparkly and girly as usual. “Wow! You look amazing!” shouted my mom, taking pictures. I rolled my eyes. “Mom, I’m not in first grade anymore. Stop with the taking pictures! You’re making my eyes blind.” I complained, shielding my eyes.
“Ok ok, wait, one more!” said my mom, taking more pictures.
I grumbled and said, "You do know this is your fault Mom," "How is it my fault?" she asked, putting down the camera.
"How is your fault? Well, there are many reasons why is it your fault. One, you invited Jake here. Two, you bought him some roses and made him a corny poem to impress me, and three... umm, forget there was a three. And that is why it is your fault." I stated, flicking my hair. "Well, I didn't know that you hated the dear boy. He's just trying to impress you!" retorted my mom, throwing down the camera.
"Impressing me? Leaving me alone for 6 years without saying goodbye and then suddenly, he comes back, saying that he's dating my best friend??? I DO NOT THINK THAT IS GOING TO IMPRESS ME AT ALL!!" I screamed, at the top of my lungs. There was an eerie slience. My mom and I stared at each other for a moment, and I thought that I was about to cry, but I held back my tears. My mom seem she was struggling to hold back her tears too. What am I doing? We were getting along until that Jake had to butt himself in our lives. I felt sorry for my mom. Before I could apologize for my rude behavior, someone ranged the doorbell. I ran to get it. There he was, in his tuxedo, looking like he jumped out of a movie.(Meet the Smiths) "Wow, you look handsome!" I marveled, checking him out.
"Thanks, by the way, where's Jake and Anna? They're five minutes late," said Nick, looking at his watch. I didn't hear, I was too dazed at Nick's good looks. "Huh? Oh, they'll be here soon. I think," I replied, wiping my mouth. Whoops, I drooled, how embarrassing. "Oh, cool," said Nick, coming in. My mom was gone when I entered the living room. The camera was left there, broken in pieces. Just like my relationship with my mom, for now. "So, where are we going again?" asked Nick, looking around my living room. "Ehh, I have no idea. Anna's choosing," I answered, walking over to the couch. Yes, I know. I told her I would choose, but in the end, she decided that she was going to choose. I couldn't choose the right restaurant anyways, I'm not an expert at choosing fancy restaurants. By fancy, I mean "romantic".
