Min has always been a very soft-spoken person, never really saying much other than his little two cents. He doesn't find it very . . . beneficial to talk on and on for long periods of time. It discomforts him and he hates it when he can see all the people staring at him. You'd normally find this a bit ironic, given how many solo performances he's given in front of numerous people. But when you really think about it, it makes sense. On stage, the lights are on you, not your audience, so you don't see them. They only see you. As such, you won't find him giving any speeches in front of classes for more than the minimum required amount of time.
Being a soft-spoken person, he usually doesn't explain himself to others. He doesn't see the need to. People can think what they want to about him and can question anything he does at any time. He won't ever give a reason for any of it, though. One shouldn't always have to be explaining the reasons for what they do. Min's train of thought is very much a 'the past is the past and there's no going back' sort of thing. You can fix your mistakes, you can only learn from them.
Also, he doesn't like to show off. If someone wants a performance, he'll give them one, but he won't do one just for the sake of bringing attention to himself. Others may think he's cocky and full of himself, but he's really quite humble. People would see that if they just took some time to get to know him a bit more. He is considered one of the world's greatest up coming violinists. He's played in numerous concerts conducted by famous conductors all over the world. Though he's played in large scale orchestras, he prefers small group and solo pieces. His talent for creating great music is really the only thing that keeps him from blending in with everyone else.
мy past °°°
Min was born in a very small town in North Korea. It was in that small town that he first picked up a violin at the age of four. Now, he wasn't one of those children who were amazing at playing their instrument of choice right off the bat. He practiced and practiced and practiced, often times for hours without stopping. Min saw it as a way of escaping the monotonous routines that come with living in such a small town. The violin also became the voice he never really had. He could express things through music that words simply couldn't.
After years and years of practice, Min gradually became the world renown talent he is today. It took thousands of hours and many private lessons, but he got there. It was from there that he started joining small orchestras and traveling with them to do performances all over the world. No one can guess why Min stopped traveling to come to Faith Hart. Why would anyone want to give up such freedom and fame? Simply because the freedom was false and fame was more of an annoyance than a pleasure. People constantly talking about you, following you, watching your every movement . . . Tight schedules and no time for what you want to do, only what they want you to do. It was completely taking over every aspect of his life and frankly, he hated it. So he quit and moved to the States. Unfortunately, his reputation followed him (there wasn't any escaping that), but it did give him a chance to . . . more or less, start over. No one knew him other than from what little was reported in the States and most of all, no one followed him. Not his family, not the fans, not the former members of the orchestra- no one.
He chose Faith Hart out of the thousands of other schools because it seemed to offer him most of what he needed. A secluded location away from everything, and a chance to keep playing the violin.
