As I stand in the fields of my dream
Nothing is as it may seem
I am trapped in this strange land
And I fear I don't understand
Why the light fades in the distance
And why nothing is making any sense
The shadows are surrounding me
I can no longer see
The darkness is everywhere
I can't breathe; I need air
My ears are plugged; I can not hear
I'm losing the memories I once held dear
I want, no, need to scream
Or even escape from this terrible dream
As I fall into the black pit, I feel a quake
Now I'm back in my bed and wide awake
I feel my heart beating fast
I hope this sensation will not last
Soaked in perspiration and tears
I know my mother will come and calm my fears
Nothing is as it may seem
I am trapped in this strange land
And I fear I don't understand
Why the light fades in the distance
And why nothing is making any sense
The shadows are surrounding me
I can no longer see
The darkness is everywhere
I can't breathe; I need air
My ears are plugged; I can not hear
I'm losing the memories I once held dear
I want, no, need to scream
Or even escape from this terrible dream
As I fall into the black pit, I feel a quake
Now I'm back in my bed and wide awake
I feel my heart beating fast
I hope this sensation will not last
Soaked in perspiration and tears
I know my mother will come and calm my fears
