In loving Memory.
Always there… it’s hard to imagine life without you in it.
I remember when we were both so young.
Whether we were outside catching grasshoppers or curled up inside, wishing we could play in the newly fallen snow, you were always there with me, letting me know you cared.
I still remember your first snow. You were so cute. So small were you yet you had no fear. Head long into the snow drift you plunged only to disappear in the sparkling stuff. Waiting, we watched for you wondering if you were all right and to our surprise you hopped right back out only to plunge in again. Soon we all grew cold and headed back inside but you didn’t seem to notice. By the front door we waited and called for you. I couldn’t help but laugh. Snow was matted in your hair but you could see a smile shining through your knowing brown eyes.
Through the years you stayed faithful, proving that men weren’t the only ones who needed best friends. And as your vision went and you became cranky, we all loved you still. Such a character you were that you’ll always be around. Maybe not so much on this physical plane but dwelling in our memories and most importantly, our hearts.
We’ll miss you Abigail.
