This is the first unenergetic post of my dislikes, and what I would like to think I'm not like. I don't have enough strength of conviction to really say anything. Also, if you would be offended by this, please don't read it. I don't want to flame you. :3
First off. The really absurdly rabid "Yaoi" fangirls. You know them. They're everywhere. I'd say I see slightly more of them regularly than most, due to being a member of a BL, slash and Yaoi guild. They call everything yaoi if it contains M/M. Heck, the person reading this might be a fangirl, who knows? But I'm not calling all the fans that. Just the very vocal minority of them who seem to be present to most. I call most things slash, because I don't really read anything in which there are canon pairings. So, my definition of slash is "A pairing which contains two characters who don't actually like each other within canon." I'd say SasuNaru is slash, not yaoi. Even if you've found the best ever ship manefesto to prove how real it is. I'd also say Aziraphale and Crowley (a lesser know pairing from a novel) is slash. Because, well, although I'd really like it to be canon, and even one of the characters in the book itself thought they were an item, and the "South Downs thing", they're just really good friends. I pity Neil Gaiman, co-writer of Good Omens immensely, as he has a look at the fan-created things for what he creates every couple of months, or so I've heard. And in his blog he said that he finds the idea of Good Omens slash fairly mind-boggling. I've read that entry. The creators deserve pity, in my opinion. Without being condescending. Non-condescending pity, because they can write/draw much better than I.
I don't like the way rabid fans shove what they like in other people's faces. One of my friends on Gaia, well, her best friend happens to be an Elricest fangirl. *Shivers with fear* She tries to convince her to like it. rolleyes I'm not innocent of doing such a thing, but if I do, it certainly won't be anything like Elricest, and my approach is much less in-your-face, and more hint-at-things-so-if-the-person-would-like-to-follow-it-up-they-can. It's slightly nasty, but slightly fun, too. rolleyes Although when my friend, her sister and I are in the same place, we tend to become a triangle of slashy terror for anyone we think would get used to it. sweatdrop
I guess I should apologise for my random icon generator in my signature. I do try my best to not thoughtlessly add every single icon I come across, but occasionally I do end up adding at least one slash-related icon to it. I'm aware that I'm deluded, so I try my best. I also, due to the fact that my skills are slightly limited, merely lurk on livejournal, fanfiction.net or devianart or whatever. sweatdrop The only livejournal comm I actually contribute to is CLAMP_CAPSLOCK, and that's because it's the random weird humour that's important, not the quality of it. It's a very fun community. Then again, at least I can spell and use punctuation. Usually.
I'm a member of a very particular guild on Gaia. It's one where I get to act like a fangirl and not care about other people, so I can try not to get on anyone else's nerves for the rest of the time. It's not the one I mentioned earlier, either, and I'm not about to tell anyone how to get there. It's fangirling without the rabid ones. I'd like to keep it that way.
I guess I have to finish this up, because it's way too insulting already, and my hands are sore from holding planks of wood upright for my brother to hammer nails into to make a new fence. sweatdrop Live happily! mrgreen This has been Lady Gyrfalcon ranting like a flamer in the semi-privacy of her own journal, which is fun, as no-one ever reads it anyway, so no-one will be insulted, and she gets to engage in an activity that makes her feel calmer for the rest of the day. X3
