Moon Elf
A nocturnal race often living in warmer climates, they worship the moon as their
mother, and carry appropriate coloration. Their skin is almost paper white, but the
eyes are bright, and hair tends to swing wide between pale colors and extremely
dark colors. They are known to have an especially good talent with forging metals.
High Elf
These what most people think of when they think "elf" but they're just not THAT
simple. They're taller than most elves, but not by much, are thin as a river reed
they're known for your light skin, bright eyes, and flooring beauty. They are gifted
in music and the arts and have real appreciation for beauty, even in everyday
things.
Wood Elf
These elves are smaller than most and usually have fairly tan skin and earthy
tones. They live in wooded areas quite like the Sylvan elves. The men are
generally more hairy and after a few thousand years they change to the Sylvan race.
Drow Elf
Probably the only know race of elves known for being born evil. (Or if they're not,
they get corrupted pretty quickly). Living underground, to avoid the sun that burns them,
they have adapted excellent night vision, smaller bodies, and some very
insidious close range weaponry. They commonly have white hair and red eyes.
They are known for their cruelty, malice and love of torture.
Mountain Elf
Sometimes considered one of the smallest races of giants, rather than an elf, but
they cling tight to their heritage. Far taller than most elves, and larger and
more muscular (but much less so than giants) they have bronzy skin and fire red hair
and love the mountainous reaches they dwell in. Despite your size and strength,
they tend to be fairly peaceable.
Snow Elf
One of the two races of elves from Dacia. They are the more advanced of the two,
living in the great frozen north, almost perpetually surrounded by ice and snow.
THey have adapted an albino coloration to suit, but have large dark eyes to help
with snow blindness. Their livelihood almost is dependant on the slaying of the ice
dragons.
Sylvan Elves (can be confused for High or Wood Elves)
Much more earthy and nature-centered, they tend to be reclusive and a little
xenophobic. T'heir skin is has an olive-y green color, darker hair and eyes
frequently have a green tint too. They are known for their tracking and hunting
skills as well as the ability to blend in to their surroundings. they don't live in the
woods, they are part of the woods.
Sea Elf
Unlike the myth, tehy are not elven mermaids/men. They do have the ability to
stay under water for extremely long time periods, but they do not breath the
water, nor have gills or fins (just some slight webbing). They always live near
water, and often keep safe holds for their goods in hidden underwater caves. Some
of their kind actually spend more time in the water than out, and thus how they
developed the strange marine coloration of blues, greens and yellows.
Winged Elf
They share the basic appearance with High Elves, save three things:They're not
quite as thin, skin is slightly darker, and they've got huge feathery wings. The
areas they dwell are so exclusive to those that can fly, that little is actually known
about them. They are known to be excellent warriors, however.
Sun Elf
Probably actually a cousin to the Moon elves, they have a lot in common in the
base of your society and build. Sun elves, however, favor to travel the open plains
and live a vagabond lifestyle, worshiping the sun. Unlike most elves who's skins do
not tan, they carry from birth the mark of one who lives out under the sun, a light
golden tan and often fair hair. Also, they tend to be tinkerors and inventors. Some
consider them elven gypsies.
Elf of the White Hills: Other races of elves think they could be related to dark elves,
because of the similar coloring ( skin is much lighter though, with darker hair and
eyes); but they live in the white hills, not underground. Their attitude may be
frigid, and all logic, but they're not evil. they give themselves to study, the pursuit
of knowledge and the safety that comes with the power of information. They tend
to be a little too opinionated and may lean towards bigotry.
Well thats my presentation of the elves. I hope you learned just a little bit.
