Yeah, not my favorite day of the year.. but I did get to drive to my grandmother's home and back with my family. twisted It was great. I also had to drive through the parish cemetary so we could put flowers on my mother's grave. And driving through cemetaries is really difficult. I was so afraid I'd make one poor dead person or another roll in their grave.. quite litrally. eek
Anyway...... Friday was fun. Because we had to wait for the three choirs to finish before the band could go on, we ended up hanging out in the bandroom for a good hour and fifteen minutes or so. Now I love my bandos but after a while I got soooooo bored. So Suze and I went out into the hallway, were sliding down it. Then, as Ralphy came out of the band room, she decided she needed to go to the bathroom to wash her hands or something so we started to head for a bathroom. She was going to go into the boys bathroom but because Ralphy was there, we steered into the girls side and pounded greetings on the wall, to which he replied.
He had told us that things in the bandroom were rather drab so Suze and I decided to go in there and dance to get out our pre-concert jitters. We drafted Cara to help us remember the electric slide and we had so much fun.
After loads of sliding, both electric and down the halls around the bandroom, I decided to take a break and chat with Trina... who was chatting with Mike at the time. So yeah, I learned who he's going to prom with. Man, there aren't words to describe it. I mean, sure, Trina said that he's not exactly thrilled about who he's going with but I saw him with her that night, when we were waiting to go onto the stage. I honestly don't know what to think... but hey, atleast the two of them won't be at band camp, so I can basically drop this right here. 3nodding sweatdrop domokun
Oh god.. not the domo.
*le sigh*
Anyway... the concert was pretty good. We didn't suck a**. In fact, we actually did better than I thought that we'd do. And Voo-Doo was fun. It gave me the much needed chance to scream out my frustrations and helped me survive the rest of the night.
We stayed there until 9:20ish and were one of the few families left there. I hung out with dano, eric, liz p., suze, and ralphy. It was great. Suze and I started elecrtic sliding again ((once you start, you just can't stop)) and eric and ralphy did their own version of it. Man, our little group made me laugh so hard. At one point, Mrs. Portnoff asked us in we'd finish off the punch so Ralphy rushed over to it and took up the huge-a** bowl with his tiny little arms. God, that kid makes me laugh.
Then there was the competition yesterday. That was great fun.. as always. I won't get into my mixed feelings about robotics because I've already blabbed about all of my other mixed feelings toward other things. Anyway, we did awesome... placing second with a rookie floor team. I got to dance the electric slide again and cotton eye joe and I got to meet (and dance around) some pretty cool guys. They really helped me get my mind off things.
Oooh and today, at walmart, I was trying on cowboy hats because I really want one for bandcamp. So anyway I was standing there modeling cowboy hats for my sister and these three guys walked by. I didn't notice them until the one said, "Hey. Nice hat cowgirl." I turned around and he winked and continued walking... and god, he and his one friend were hott.. the other friend was more cute than hott. I almost bought that hat... but figured I look around for a style that didn't just match the khaki and pastel of my church clothes.
Well, anyway.. that was my weekend...
EDIT: I took out most of the unhappy and/or depressing bits of this entry... but then again, I usually do.... xp
