I found some old logbooks on the 13th floor in the basement, quite interesting to read them. I think Ill just tell you the story how I found them.

Since I went down there yesterday to find a present for Neko, I managed to get to the 13th floor, wich is my current record. Damn those traps, I disabled most of them now, but when you realize you just stepped on one......
Its either, dodge this or that, or run like hell or fight some tough monsters.

But I as I said I managed to get trough all of those traps to the 13th floor of the basement. I found a safe chamber there with some of the old logbooks of the inn. In those logbooks I made out that the inn was sinking slowly throughout the ages, straight through the ground.
Some sort of orb was placed down there to prevent it from sinking further,
and to prevent people to take the orb they trapped nearly every inch of these old parts. The orb was placed in the balroom back then, the room with large doors wich was also on the 13th floor.

Later on, they noticed that all kinds of creatures started to roam these parts and sealed it off. And thats why only the owner is allowed to know th entrace offically. But since I see no danger in the fact to allow others in it as long as they leave the orb and such alone.
I took my own precautions to protect the orb.
