As I sat there in front of my house waiting for the taxi cab that was to take me to the Phoenix International Airport I sighed knowing I might not come home for a long time. I replayed the fight I had with my parents just a few days ago in my head over and over trying to make sense of it. By the time I was starting to get something out of it my cab pulled up and the driver honked the horn noisily. I opened the back door and threw my few bags in and shut the door to look back at my house and at my parents who were happily sending me off to a boarding school somewhere in Alaska. I glared at them before opening the passenger door and stepping in hopping to never see their faces again.
My cab driver made record time despise the traffic and I payed him the fee plus a nice tip before opening the door and stepping out then getting my bags out of the back. I walked into the airport and welcomed the hustle and bustle of tourists and business people as I walked to the automatic ticket check in booth. Once I had my ticket printed out and I had sent my bags through the baggage check I made my way to the second floor where the terminals and security were located. I made my way through the security check easily sense I didn't pack anything metal in my carry on luggage and I had put everything extra I needed in my bag beforehand. That finished I walked down the hall towards the terminal that the plane would pick me up at and take me to a whole new life...
I yawned as the plane touched down at the Anchorage International Airport. The flight captain announced that it was 5:00 pm and the weather was too be rainy Just great rain I frowned and got up out of my seat and grabbed my bag from the above luggage bin before making my way off the plane. I got downstairs to the luggage claim and waited for my bags to come around until I had all three. I watched and laughed at some peoples baggage that had holes in it or were close to exploding after being checked. Once with my bags and satisfied that I was lucky enough not to have exploding baggage I made my way outside to where my new boarding school bus was to pick me and some of the other kids up. I looked around until I saw where i was to wait and saw a group of five teens about my same age, three were boys and two were girls, I smiled at them as I walked up surprised to see that all but one of them backed away a bit. I frowned wondering what was wrong, Do I have food on my face? Does my breath smell bad? Oh well he seems nice at least I thought looking at the one boy who didn't back away. Just at that time the bus pulled up and a teacher instructed us to load our bags in the back then take our seats inside the bus and we would begin the four hour drive to the school.
I finished putting my bags up last and hurriedly ran to the bus door as the rain began to pour down on us like a monsoon. I looked around the bus for a seat but saw that the only seat left was by the boy. I smiled as I sat down next to him and introduced myself. "Hi my names Isabella but you can call me Bella, Whats yours?"I asked as he looked at me sideways. "Nice to meet you"he muttered under his breath"My names Edward"at that he turned completely away from me and stared out of the rain and mud splatted window. "Nice to meet you too"I muttered as I looked down at my lap and pulled out my cell phone. I wanted so badly to call one of my friends but they were probably enjoying the last few days of summer and I didn't want to bore them with my talk of planes and cold weather so i reluctantly put my phone away. I glanced sideways at Edward and wondered how old he was and If we were in the same grade If we were then he would have to talk to me some way or another. As I thought about the many random things that popped into my head, most of them concerning school, I slowly fell asleep for the second time that day.
I was woken by Edward gently shaking me"Um....Bella we're at the school"he said nervously as I opened my eyes. "Oh um thanks"I said as I got up and exited the bus and got my luggage like every one else. We were met by a male teacher who told us that all the boys were to come with him and all the girls to go with Mrs. Harrison. So that's what her name is I thought to myself looking at the female teacher who had been on the bus with us. Both teachers split up and led their separate groups across the school grounds towards two large buildings. "The girls dormitory"Mrs. Harrison announced once we got there. "You are to find your dorm room which should be labeled on your class schedule that you should have gotten in the mail. If you have any questions you may ask me or one of the full time students who should be around the grounds". I smiled and took off up a flight of stairs to my dorm room, I already knew where it was located since I had found a map of the school layout and studied it until I had it memorized. I knocked on the door waiting for an answer but not receiving on i opened the door and found that it was vacant, but not for long for i knew that there were too many people to let any of them have their own rooms. I quickly grabbed the bed that was closest to the window and began unpacking my things wounder who would be my room mate when the door cracked open. "Hello"I said seeing one of the girls that was with Edward"My names Isabelle but you can call me Bella"I said smiling at her. "Er Hi Bella I'm Alice"came a short reply as she took the bed next to the door and began unpacking herself.
After what seemed like forever the head of the school ,Mr. Vincent, Came onto the intercom. "I would like to welcome all of the new students here to Seward Private Bording Acadamy and so to begin this school year we would like all of the students to meet in the dining hall for a late dinner. We shall be closing the doors in thirty minuets so don't be late."with that the intercom clicked off. "Well I guess we better get going so we don't miss dinner don't ya think Alice."I said trying to start a conversation. "Mhm sure"she said placing her pillow on her bed as she finised unpacking. "You might as go without me I need to meet up with my family"she said turning and walking out the door. I sighed and made my way out of our room closing the door behind me. The halls seemed quiet and I wounderd if every one had already gone. I ran down the hall knowing I would be in trouble if I was caught. I slowed to a walk at the bottom of the stairs and came out of the dorm I noticed everyone was outside, talking and making new friends, unlike me. I began to walk towrds the main buliding to the dinning hall when I tripped and fell into somebody "Oh I'm so sorry"I said ballencing myself and I was shocked to see when I looked up it was Edward. "Oh..um thats all right Bella"He said not turning to look at me and I noticed he was with Alice and all of the others from earlier. So this is his family I thought.
