Uhh... Bored?
A story.
Dusk stlled on the inhabitants of Dryrock, a small town by the sea. As night began ti close in, streelights flickered and ignited, lighting the strrts and sidewalks, bathing perfectly trimmed laws in shadow. Birds of the day silenced as nightingales began thir song. The town of Dryrock could be called perfection. Kevin Landers hated it.
Kevin was a black-haired green-eyed man of 18. He was dressed, as usual, in black from head to toe. He sighed and laid back on his bed. Nothing interesting ever happened here. Always the same thing day and night. Up until recently the only think that gave him any repreive was school, the chance to get away from the mundane world and have new experiences every day. He burst into laughter. "I thought school was a chance to get away from the mundane? I must be losing it."
He heard a knock on his door and his father's voice telling him to come downstairs. He sighed and left his room, walking down the steps into the kitchen, where his father stood holding a small box. His father looked up at him, his face aglow with barely contained excitement. "Kevin, come here," his father said, practically hopping up and down. Kevin complied, making his way to the table through the boxes piled chest high troughout the kitchen. "What?" Kevin asked when he got there. His father handed him the box and told him to open it. The box was so rusted Kevin had to strain to push the lid open. Inside, laying on a practically disintegrated velvet cushion, was a small ring. The band was worked with silver and black diamonds, and in the center sat a huge emerald. Kevin looked at it, eyes growing wider every second. "Wh-where did you get this?" he gasped. "I bought it at a small shop in the mall for fifty bucks. Apparently the owner didn't know what was inside. Some shop called 'The Menagerie'." He looked at Kevin. "It's yours now." Kevin looked up at him in shock. "Are you serious? It's mine?" His father nodded and he slipped it on his finger. "It's amazing." Sudenly Kevin remembered he was supposed to go to the store tonight and get some food. "Oh, crap. Dad, I forget to go to the store. I'll be right back." "Be careful," his father called after him as he stepped outside into the fresh air. He walked rather quickly, as the store was two miles away and he wanted to be home soon. He was in such a hurry he didn't notice as the streetlights began to dim around him. They slowly grew darker and darker until Kevin was left in total darkness. Kevin stopped and looked around. The houses had power so what was wrong with the lights. He shrugged it off and continued the walk to the store, bought some milk, eggs, bread and peanut butter, and started the long walk back home. After he had walked thirty minutes, he saw a dim light begin to form in the middle of the street. Good, he thought, The lights are coming back on. After a moment, though, he realzed the light was only appearing in one place, right in the center of the street. He froze, the bag falling from his hadn ad he watched the light take the form of a man. It billowed and flowed, forming hair, a face, arms and legs. The light began to turn from white to red, as te figure became more menacing. Horns erupted from the sides of it's head, large wings burst from it's back. It took a step towards Kevin, the another, reaching out for the ring. Kevin came to his senses and ran, running toward his home. The figure vanished, but still Kevin ran. He finally made it to his house and burst through the door. "Dad, this ring it's..." He began. When he stepped into the kithen, he turned and vomited on the floor. His father lay upon the table, his chest ripped open and his organs spread over the walls. Blood covered every inch of the room, staining everything red. His father's heart lay in a plate of half eaten oatmeal. He backed out the door and ran to the police station. He burst through the door screaming that someone had killed his dad. He was taken to a desk and filled out a report as someone was sent to investigate. The police asked him to sit down in the lobby, which he did. While he was sitting there he slipped the ring of his finger and handed it to a little boy, standing with his parents. "Hey kid, you want a ring?"

No!! Don't take it kid! Poor Kevin sad But he shouldn't be trying to fork the ring off. Build on this... smile It began great. Although, some of the wording needs to be looked over. Keep grammar and over-use of adjectives in mind. i heart this story
