~~~Episode Ten~~~
Yuri looked up, yawning a little as she stepped out of Naruto's apartment. She turned, fixing her pack strap. "Come on, hurry up slowpoke." she said. Haku grumbled, standing. "Peh, like you can even dream of bossing me around." he said. Naruto yawned, "Well, shes right. Your really slow...maybe you shouldn't have had all of that ramen last night..."
Haku shoved past them into the hall, "I'm fine! It was you two idiots who kept me awake anyway!" he said. Yuri smiled, "Someone woke up on the wrong side of the floor." she said.
Haku twitched as she and Naruto laughed.
"Haha, your hilarious...anyway, lets get moving."
Naruto beamed, "Now I can give you a tour of the village! I cant believe you dont know your way around, but the village has changed. Hey, maybe I can introduce you to some of the other genin too!"
"Joy." Haku mumbled.
A scream suddenly cut through the morning air, and the three whipped around.
"What the?!" Naruto said, stunned. Haku tensed, "It came from over there! Come on!" he said before running down the hall. Yuri and Naruto quickly followed.
A jet black shadow was creeping across the ground, dark storm clouds covering the early morning sky. Naruto jumped down, coming to the street before Haku and Yuri came up beside him. "Whats with that shadow?" Naruto asked, narrowing his eyes. Haku unsheathed his katana, "Heartless." he said.
"Naruto!"
They turned as a girl with short, pink hair ran up. She blinked, glancing from Haku to Yuri, then to Naruto. "Naruto, Kakashi wants us immediatly! All the shinobi are gathering to figure out whats going on!" Sakura said. Naruto shook his head, "A meeting?! No, the heartless are coming! We have to fight!"
Shouts rang out, and they turned as neoshadows rose up out of the ground, along with dark samurai and several large bodies. Haku glared, "All of these people need to get out of here!" he said. Crowds were hurrying away, knocking into eachother as the heartless army moved forward into the village. "This is crazy! People are going to get trampled!" Sakura said, stepping tight against a building beside them.
"Yuri, put up a firewall, now! Give the villagers a change to escape!" Haku ordered. Yuri nodded, "Right! Firaga Wall!" she yelled, thrusting her hands forward. Flames screamed to life, leaping up from the ground and high up into the air.
"Good, now hold it for as long as you can! Naruto, if you want to help, keep up!" Haku said before running along the wall. Naruto followed,
"Naruto! Wait!" Sakura yelled, but he kept running. The crowd was gone, except for a few stunned or hurt people. Haku leapt up and over the fire, blades flashing in the heat as he cut into heartless. Naruto followed, landing in a cloud of white smoke as he made a handsign. "Shadow Clone Jutsu!" he shouted. Several Naruto leapt from the smoke, punching and kicking into the swarm. Yuri coughed, her energy diminishing. She dropped her hands, the fire wall falling as well.
"Are you ok?" Sakura asked. Yuri smiled, standing. "Yep! Just fine! Go get some help please, these heartless were told to attack here, so I'm sure more will be here shortly." she said. She ran to help, leaving Sakura. Haku punched dark samurai in the face with the handle of his katana, turning as Yuri came into the fight. She snapped her fingers, and sent lightning crashing down all around, missing Naruto and Haku amazingly.
"Need help?" she asked. Naruto ducked, kicking a neoshadow back with a quick twist. "You bet! This is ridiculous!"
More shouts could be heard as the heartless continued to multiply, and swarm into the city.
"Why are they attacking us?!" Naruto asked, breathing heavily as he jumped, landing back to back with Haku. Haku cursed a little, "Someone planned this, and they have to be hiding somewhere." he said before blocking a neoshadow. Suddenly, a vibration made them both turn. A large body was charging towards them, its girth knocking heartless out of the way. Haku and Naruto's eyes widened, and they quickly turned to run. Flames suddenly bursted to life, streaming down onto the large body. It veered off course, crashing recklessly into other heartless.
"Thanks Yuri!" Naruto said, turning. Yuri blinked as she blasted an blizzard into the crowd. "I didn't do that!" she said.
"I did." They looked up to see Sasuke standing on the top of a building. Several others were beside him, including Kakashi and Sakura.
Naruto smiled, "About time!" he said. A group leapt down into the fight, and the odds quickly turned. Dozens of ninja were fighting, and Yuri was amazed by the abilities they possesed. Soon, the heartless died off, leaving only a few straglers. Yuri wiped blood from her cheek, her arm hurt as well as she stood.
"What the hell was that about? Was it seriously that easy to win?" a boy said, a puppy sitting on his head. Haku glared, "No way. That was a diversion." he said. Naruto blinked, "A diversion?'
"It means it was just to keep us occupied! All the villagers are safe, but whomever planned this may still be in the village." Sakura said. Kakashi turned, "Okay, I believe your story kid. Now, we need to-" he tensed as an explosion sounded. They all turned, seeing smoke rise from the other side of the village.
"It was a diversion! Everyone, go!" Another jounin shouted. They darted off, leaping up across building tops. Naruto turned, "This wasn't how I was planning on starting my day." he said. Sakura shook her head, "Like we were, not lets move!" she said before leaving as well.
Yuri looked at Haku, who was still.
"Haku?" she asked, wondering if he was hurt.
Haku glared, "I can sense it..."
"Sense what?" Yuri asked.
Haku sheathed his blades,
"This is just another attack, like the one on 2nd Earth. This invasion is just to give them time to find this world's heart." he turned to Naruto, "Naruto, where is the highest point in the village?"
Naruto blinked, "Wha? Oh, there a few high places-"
"Good, lets go then." Haku said. Withthat, he ran off, leaping up onto a rooftop. Yuri and Naruto scrambled to follow him.
"Shouldn't we be following the others?!" Naruto asked.
"No! These heartless are being controlled by someone, and like they said before, its just a diversion! We have to find the boss!"
