Chapter 1 Opposition
Three figures moved silently through the shadows, dim lights from the neighborhood lit their path. The three knew their jobs well, one would the guards, a second would aim for the power grid and take it down, while the third killed them. As they approached the mansion of William Darko, their plan was completely formulated. Derrick , the second in command of the assassins, would show proof of his sniper skills. Ashlen walked up to the main gates, likewise two body guards stood, armed with small fire arms. She started a small conversation, with them, allowing Derrick his time to get to his spot, while Eric took out the cameras, and power.
“Good evening,” She started, as the guards stood still, keeping their eyes on her. “I was wondering if you knew where the Carol Bar was?” She asked innocently. One of the guards stepped forth, and looked down at her, his massive size would be intimidating to her, if she didn’t have her knife hidden in her long sleeved shirt.
“Its about three miles down the rode, and the seventh building on the left.” He told her, his voice was deep and dry.
“Thank you” she replied, turning around, and scanned the area for her partners. she could see Richard started his way toward the power cables on the left, and Derrick was beginning to assemble his rifle right. She knew she had to keep them busy for about another minute or two. “I’m really bad with directions, would you mind showing me the way please?” she begged skillfully.
“Rich I think something’s up.” The other guard said, drawing his firearm. He pointed it at the girls head, ready to pull the trigger, as he started his next question, the sound of a small pop cut through the air, and he fell over dead.
“What the…” Started the one called Rich, just before a silver cased bullet based through the right side of his head.
“And you said that my sniper skills were nothing to brag about.” Derrick called over his free hand communicator, watching for anything in the windows, or the doors.
Ashlen pressed the on switch to her communicator, on her waist. “Still not much to brag about against weak minded opponents.” she shot back, then began her infiltration of the mansion, sticking to the shadows. She waited for Eric to scramble the systems, before taking the risk of further infiltration.
“Eric how’s the scrambling going?” she called.
“ Better put in those night vision contacts of yours cause the lights are about to go.” He replied comically.
She retched into a small pouch on her hip, and brought out a small slender case. She opened it and two small pieces of glass laid on a cushion. The contacts looked normal, but when she placed them on. She saw everything in a greenish tint, partially blinded by the lights, the only down side was the contacts took five minutes to adjust. When the contacts were in the lights went out..
“Okay I’m practically blind at the moment Derrick, allow no one in here.” She commanded, hearing his annoying voice shoot back with an annoying groan. “Eric start the mission timer in about three minutes.” She told the other.
“Gotcha” he said, looking at the small computer screen which covered his left eye. “Remember the objective is to assassinate the target before morning, leave no witnesses. Failure will result in the death of all team members.” Eric warned calmly. As he said that, he was already hacking into the satellite imaging network, and getting the layouts of the area. The layout, included the building blueprints, and all local enforcements. The closest law enforcement group was forty miles away. “Remember Ash take out all the guards if you leave even one alive, it may jeopardize our mission.”
“Yeah yeah,” she said annoyed, stealthily moving through, collecting what she liked to call reliable assets, with was more less taking anything valuable she could find. As she cleared through the first floor, making sure there was no guards. She started to ascend to the second floor.
Derrick kept his sights around the mansion. From what he could see there was no snipers, or any other guards. Usually there were more then just gate keepers. This William guy was either stupid, or vary confident in himself, he thought as he kept a watchful eye on the place. He knew where a few body guards were, there was more. He was always looking over everything, and judging the difficulty of the mission. He checked his ammo box, making sure he had enough for at least eighty people. His eyes stayed fixed through his night vision scope, as he looked around the area.
Ashlen made her way through the mansion, searching for the main office, or master bedroom. Her eyes, and heart filled with determination of her ambitious dream. A dream she never talked about, the death of a certain assassin. Her own ambition was to use Chrono for their resources, in doing so she had became an elite assassin for them. A small price to pay for vengeance, and life that was exchanged for her survival. Chrono, the secret group that controls the black arms, also providing weapons to the government, She often thought of how money, and power corrupted the hearts of many good people.
“Eric, is there anything on the scanner?” he called quietly, almost inaudible.
“Northing yet.” He replied, “But its strange, for a mansion this size there should be at least eight or twelve guards inside.”
“I know, but if it is a trap they won’t be able to do much in the dark.” She assured him.
She finished her way toward the master bedroom, standing beside the door. She took a deep breath, counting to ten, then released the breath. She skillfully opened the door, making not even a faint creek, as she opened the door. Mission accomplished, She thought striding slowly inside. As she did, her luck went from good to bad. A loud alarm began to sound, she had broken the inferred tripwires, set through out the room.
