Well, working on Datascention right now, for almost 7 weeks now. It's kinda cool, if it weren't for the lazy a** idiots that we have to call.
My job?
Surveys, or rather, ask people about their opinions and answer the surveys with their opinions, their unique points of view, etc. Americans and Canadians are very opinionated, but also very ignorant, as I have come to discover in these few weeks. Gawd! You'd think that we evil foossball-bedeviled survey takers are gonna steal their souls, their cash or anything else.
We only look for opinions and what they think about a lot of stuff. I love it when I finish a survey and the person gave me lots of input like "I hate that show" or "I love the way a commercial looks like". It's really satisfying, because stuff like that really helps improve the quality of services (like banks and grocery stores) and products (toothpaste, credit cards, cat food, anything you can imagine) of the country.
Some peeps just go "I don't do surveys over the phone" JEEZ~!!! It only takes around 5 minutes to provide input that will greatly enhance your lifestyle! "I'm not interested" So? Go ahead and take it! Or better yet, if you are such a lazy bum, ask anyone in the house to do it! The worst kind of deafness is the one when a person refuses to listen.
I understand that people think that all phone calls are either from known people or telemarketeers. WRONG! Telemarketeers try to sell you stuff. We don't and we will never try to. We even give out prizes to people who join up special studies like quality projects and commercial/tv show studies.
I'm planning to have a talk with the heads of the company soon. We have to let people know that surveys and polls are very important! Heck, they even pay attention to CNN and USAToday (as examples) when these media powerplayers put out pie charts, bar graphs and whatnot! Where do you think they got that info from, mmmh~?
While I leave you to consider the answer, I'll just have to say one thing: Take a frikkin' survey. It's only a bit of time on the phone (which I know you can actually spend 5~10 minutes instead of staring into space or boring yourself to tears), you're not paying for anything (we are paying for the call in the place), and your opinions really make a difference (and no, we're not paying you for them, after all, by giving companies and governments a piece of your mind, you're helping them know what should stay the same, what should be bettered and in the long run, it's in your benefit).
