What is Happiness? This emotion which brings us together. How are you sure what you feel is true? Could one really find true Happiness? How is it that those that are happy outside are welcomed by others warmly while the ones with the Sorrowful faces are, in a sense, shunned. Happiness. In all its simplicity I find it hard to think how this emotion works. What is it in our minds that triggers feelings of Joy? How do we seperate Happy from Sad? I think there is some sort of Standard set as each of us emerges into the World. This Standard... is what we find Happy Sorrowful to another? There can be two sides of a story.
For example; A young deer is drinking from a stream. As it eats the plants nearby, it is suddenly attacked viciously be a fox. It is killed, then eaten. The deer hardly had time to even live before its life was taken by the fox. From hearing this you would pity the deer, am I right?
Well, now let's see the fox's half of the story; This fox had been searching for its food for so long it had forgotten how long it had been since its last meal. In fact, it needed food for its young as well. Weak from starvation, it passes a young, harmless deer by a stream. Joyous from its find, the fox kills the deer and eats. Then it brings the remaining food to it's young. Here you would cheer for the fox, would you not?
So what is this Happiness? What is the Standard to be Judged by? Does the Standard change when situation demands it? Does that mean the slightest detail could change a nation?
I am not to say that I do not feel Happiness at times. I am not saying that you should question the Strength or Meaning of emotions. I am merely rambling about my wonders of the World.
