When Gaia Fishing just came out, I had recently been asigned the night shift for work. Specifically, 4:00 to Midnight, or 1600 to 0000. This left me with insomnia. Barely coherent enough to drive home on the empty roads, but too restless to sleep, I tried the first Gaia Mini-Game. Well, it seemed quite simple. But I wasn't looking for something deep, and mindless gold earning was a good way to unwind. I was consistantly in the top 1000 fishers, according to Logan. I remember people trying to start a cartel on fish, when the price was dropping as the market tends to when items flood it. I thought it was silly to ask a user over 10x what Logan paid for a biter, myself. Said so in their thread. Wasn't flamed, but was ignored.
I got all the medium helms fast enough, and then worked on getting a distance rod + to get bigger ones. When the trash items came out, I eventually sold my cans and tires, when I got enough boots, I was surprised I could manage to quest that much. I've since gotten all the large fish helms, and all the random fish parts. I've run out of Gaia 'quests.' I've gotten donation items far back enough that questing for what I don't have is crazy, as crazy as questing for the Rare fish masks. I've resorted to saving for fairy wings, just to have a goal. I wish there was an expensive store item I liked that wasn't fantasy ish.
All this reminiscing about fishing was brought on by Teh Mog, who I stalk, having a new journal entry. Teh Mog has a cooler avatar than I.
