Well it sounds pretty pathetic and small, thinking about it and writing it down, but I just did something amazing! at least to me....
I was supposed to be doing homework for my class tomorow and the day after, but instead I of course sat down with my laptop and started to surf......*sigh* I dont remember why, but I suddenly had a thought, 'why am I doing this now, instead of waiting unitl lafter I finish my homework? then I wouldn't be so worried and jumpy everytime someone came down the stairs, and seeing hte clock approach 6pm so quickly would cause panic.' So I immediately, amazingly enough, closed my laptop, but it down, and picked up the book for Tuesday's class. And actually did the homework right then and there without any more delaying!! I was absolutely shocked when I finished!!
And to help with further procrastination, I am going to try I am going to start using, well two methods now, I found in the book. 1: Remove 'try' and 'not' in your goals, asignments, lists and such. If your going to tell yourself to do something, no trying or nots. Not's are just bad NLP, and trying provides and easy way out of accomplishing it. 2: the second thnig im going to use, is called a Discovery and Intention Journal. When ever you notice yourself putting something off, or doing something to prevent you from doing your work, you write it down in a discovery entry. You write what you did, when, why, how you felt stuff like that. Then once your done you write a follow-up Intention entry. You write want you should/wanted to do, how and stuff, then you put down the book, and go do it! immediately! Its actually cycle thingy, cuz once you do it, your supposd to write another Discovery entry and so, and so forth.
I'm hoping to keep up with it and cure my procrastination myself without the help of mums therapy. I like fixing my own problems. Gives me a sense of accomplishing something. Anyways I'm now to write about it, cuz I forgot the stuff to put in my Discovery Journal I made. Well right now its still a LA comp book, but I'll change that as soon as I see a Sharpie! and a ruler......wonder if a pen would work instead since we've broken nearly all our rulers.....oh! right! just remembered I need to photo-copy my homework to turn in! Doing that now!
