So, I was talking to my dad. And he asked, "what do you want for your birthday?" "I want a dog." "No." "Yes, I do." "You're not getting a dog." So, I decided to ignore him and just tell him the breeds I was thinking about: Great Dane, German Shepard, and Pit Bull. The first thing he said, "Well, defintly not a pit bull."
And that it was of my passions. I've seen puppies get put to sleep for being pit bulls, a great dog sit in an animal shelter for two years because of his breed. And it really irks me.
So, I asked. "Why not?" "Because my girlfriend has her grandchildren around." I was like >:0
I grew up with a pit bull. He let me climb all over Choas. And he never had a problem then. I have concluded that this is his girlfriend's position. Because she got bit by one. I got bit by a lab and that's the kind of dog my dad would prefer.
And the problem isn't all dogs. It's teaching little children to not pull on a dog's tail or a dog's ears, to not bother the dog all the time. When I got nipped by a dog my mom told me "that's what you get, don't pull his tail." ( and it wasn't Choas, it was this lab-husky mix we had)
Anyways, I can't help but not...like a person who would take this position of ignorence. So, my dad and I have been arguing about this for three days. sweatdrop
