Hailing from Germany, Johann Faust VIII is the eighth-generation descendant of the legendary Doctor Faustus. He was born on April 8, 1966 and his blood type is A. His ancestor is the main character of the renowned German tale, "The Tragedy of Doctor Faustus", as the man who was so consumed by lust for all the pleasures of the world, he made a deal with the devil to gain them. For with necromancy skills, the Devil also granted Faustus youth and riches. In the end, Faustus died a terrible death when Mephistopheles came to claim his soul at the end of the seven year contract.Faust is usually a very detailed and patient person who thinks scientifically unless the matter concerns his beloved Eliza. He does not tolerate interruptions while working (an example was having Eliza keep the X-Laws at bay, while he attempted to help Jeanne), and even less any criticism, insults or threats directed at Eliza.Faust is the embodiment of dedication; he has given up everything for his wife and is willing to do anything, no matter the costs to protect and take care of her. It is this single-mindedness and selflessness that gives him his great strength in the Shaman Fight. Beyond all the mental instability, emotional suffering and somewhat gothic moods, his greatest strength comes from his pure heart; pure because he knows that he only lives to love and protect his dear Eliza.Faust is an insane, but incredibly brilliant medical doctor who delights in saving lives. Naturally, his work reveals facets of his personality. He cures one of his opponents after their shaman fight, an illness that many doctors have given up on previously. Because Faust had devoted much of his time to seeking cures for illnesses, he is utterly devastated when he is unable to save Eliza and goes as far as attempting to resurrect her. When he treats Jeanne of the X-laws, he does so with zeal that nears madness. During the time in between matches, he is usually reading medical books, and feeds himself breakfast, lunch, and dinner through an I.V. line.In the manga it is implied that he is addicted to morphine, when he transplants his tibia and feels no pain.
He usually wears exaggerated 1970s fashion: white suits and dark shirts with oversized collars, cuffs and lapels, plus pointy shoes. His battle outfit consists of a vest-styled shirt that exposes his stomach and pants that occasionally puff out above the ankles. His crowning glory is a foot-long pompadour, which keeps getting lopped off by Yoh Asakura and others. Ryu's nickname comes from the fact he carries a wooden sword, or bokutō. In the English anime, he has a Hispanic accent.
Tao Jun (道 潤 Japanese: Tao Jun; Pinyin: Dào Rùn or Dao Run) Tao JunRen's older sister and a is a dao-shi, who can re-animate corpses. She is seventeen years old at the beginning of the manga, born October 10, 1981 and has the blood type A. Her jiāngshī (guardian zombie) is Lee Bailong (Lee Pai-Long), a famous movie star in Hong Kong who died seventeen years ago. She uses Jufu talismans to control her guardian ghost, but after she battles Yoh Asakura and Amidamaru and loses, she lets Bailong obey her commands only if he wishes to when she realizes that spirits have hearts too, and they just cannot be controlled. Later in the series, she and Tamao fight against Hana-gumi in order to defend Redseb and Seyrem until Mikihisa arrives. During the fight it is revealed that Bailong received an 'upgrade' of sorts after being defeated by En, in the form of a piston in his right arm which greatly increases his punching power. Additionally, in the manga, because of her knowledge in human anatomy, Jun becomes the apprentice of Sati and becomes able to revive people. In the manga and the original anime, Jun's father is named Tao Yúan (道円, also known as "Tao En" wink , and her mother is named Ran. In the English anime, her father is dead and En is her uncle. In the English anime, Len and Jun have British accents, implying an origin from Hong Kong.
Because they form a group of five, they realize that cannot all participate in the third round of the Shaman Tournament, which requires teams of three. Though they initially attempt to break their group up, Yoh, to ensure their safety, forces them to realize that they cannot compete effectively against opponents like Hao Asakura. The girls instead resolve to become famous as the ones who refused to back down there fight with Hao. Towards the anime's conclusion, they become staunch supporters of Yoh as he fights Hao. She acts somewhat like a French socialite and in the English dub, incorporates French phrases into her speech. She is with Lilly, conceives most of the group's plans to find Patch Village by manipulating Yoh or stealing the Oracle Bells of his friends. Before forming the Lily Five, Sharona had been rejected by a child she took care of. Her ambition is to become famous as Shaman Queen, which results in an argument with Anna Kyoyama, who has similar designs. Despite her bold mannerisms and somewhat calculating nature, she is good-hearted and actually quite clever. Her oversoul is Enra a smoke spirit that resembles a tiny woman that when called upon comes out of the smoke of Sharona's medium, like a genie. Enla can shapeshift into various objects upon Sharona's wish.
Lilly Seiyū: Yui Horie The genius of the group who wears a school girl outfit throughout the anime. When her shamanic powers emerged, she was rejected by her classmates. Lilly speaks little, but when she does, it is usually to make a joke comeback in response to Millie and Ellie. Her medium is her glasses that she usually uses to help navigate them through the group's travels, amongst other things. Her oversoul is a roborovski hamster named Jangurian, merges with Lilly's glasses become binoculars.
[edit] Millie Seiyū: Miyako Itou The smallest and youngest of the group who tends to interact with Yoh's group more than the others. Together, the two of them are the first of the Lily Five to appear before Yoh.She uses a slingshot as her medium. Her spirit is Onibi, who appears in a shape of a fireball with a face that resembles that of a fox, that when merges with the slingshot becomes a crossbow.

The pair frequently work together and Ellie is usually the first to come to Millie's aid.She is somewhat ditzy and seems to like shopping. Ellie comes across as superficial and shallow, but cares about her friends, especially Millie. When her shamanic powers emerged, Ellie was rejected by her boyfriend. Her medium is her manicured French nails and her oversoul is Kamaitachi, which is a weasel-like creature, she once merges with her nails, they become claws that can extend.
[edit] Sally Seiyū: Inuko Inuyama Tall redheaded Sally is the toughest and most impatient of the group. She was rejected by her work mates when her shamanic powers emerged. Fierce in battle, Sally has rather destructive tendencies and seemingly anger management issues because in a flashback she was seen in a headlock by a policeman.Sally is short-tempered and seems very outspoken and becomes enthusiastic whenever an opportunity to fight arises. She is also usually drives the Lily Five around in their car, though Sharona and occasionally Ellie have done so as well. Her medium is a giant mallet type weapon and her oversoul is Korogashi.
Amidamaru was training to be a samurai when he was still very young in order to drive away bandits and protect the orphans he was living with. He always used to break his sword (katana) when he was young, so his very good friend Mosuke would always make a new sword after scolding him for breaking another one of his swords as they were too poor to afford good strong steel. Amidamaru was an honorable samurai who refused to steal swords from the corpses and skeletons that were found scattered across the land at the time.Mosuke, being a very skilled swordsmith, was able to make a sword using his father's knife. The sword cut very well and Amidamaru was grateful for the sacrifice that Mosuke made, so touched in fact that he cried. Mosuke asked if he was crying, but Amidamaru pretends that some raindrops splashed on his face, therefore he names the katana "Harusame" (春雨), which means "Spring Rain"When both Amidamaru and Mosuke grew older, they were employed by a daimyo who was impressed with Amidamaru's skills as a samurai and Mosuke's skills as a swordsmith. They worked for him happily, but it did not last long. Amidamaru found out about their daimyo's greed when he asked him to kill Mosuke so that he wouldn't make a sword which would be better than Harusame. Amidamaru was at a dilemma because he owes unrequited loyalty to both the daimyo and his friend.Amidamaru and Mosuke met at the tree on Monument Hill where Amidamaru told Mosuke what the damiyo told him. At first Mosuke asked Amidamaru to just kill him because an order from a damiyo was an absolute order for a samurai. Amidamaru, being loyal to Mosuke, told him to run away and that he would accept the crime. Mosuke asked him to give him the Harusume so he could fix it up and give it to him later that night (the English anime changes this; Mosuke instead forged the finest sword he could create for Amidamaru, which was named the Sword of Light). Amidamaru agreed and he gave Mosuke his oath that he would wait for him at that very spot. Sadly, someone spied on their conversation and informed the damiyo who ordered his men to kill Mosuke (which was done after they went to the hill). The men then went up the hill hoping to kill Amidamaru, but Amidamaru killed them all. He died of exhaustion because he did not have the Harasume. Mosuke was killed not long after, arriving at the hill too late to present the sword because he had chosen to spend more time perfecting the blade.Amidamaru's numerous killing earned him a bad reputation which was carried all the way to the present time. In the English manga he is called a fiend for killing so many people.
Bason is the ghost of an ancient Chinese wujiang (a military class of ancient China) that served for the Tao family. According to both Shaman King data books, which were released only in Japan, information such as his date of birth and blood type are unknown. He carries a kwan dao. He is sworn to serve Tao Ren, and he will do so as much as he can to serve him. In his days as an ancient Chinese warrior, Bason rode into battle on a horse named Hei-Tao. The spirit of Hei-Tao can be integrated into another horse kept by Ren, named Bái-Feng, to perform the Perfect Re-enactment of the Vorpal Dance. He is capable of adding tremendous strength and speed to Ren's kwan dao, and even making it quite larger, but also uses his body in attacks such as the Golden Punch. In Giant Spirit Form, Bason appears as a gigantic robot capable of launching fireballs.Like Ren, Bason appears very cold and cruel at the beginning of the series, however, following interaction with Yoh Asakura, Bason, like his master, begins to soften up and develop a much more pleasant disposition. He feels an overwhelming sense of duty to his master, even breaking down in tears when Ren is imprisoned by his father. While Bason and Amidamaru are very hostile and competitive at first, they soon become friendly rivals. In the English manga, Bason calls Ren "Master Ren," while in the Japanese version he calls Ren "Bocchama," which means "Young Master."
