Monday, August 11th, 2008, I left my house for Sauble Falls Provincial Park for my 2008 Camping Trip. Packing was a lot worse than it had ever been in the previous years, rather than having just me, my brother, and my dad; we had invited my Aunt along with us. So we had four people crammed into one little car, enough clothing to last a week, for each of these four people, and enough food to last a week for these four people. Me and my Aunt ended up getting squished together in the back seat, however it was slightly comfortable, aside from bashing my head off the roof of the car every time we hit a large bump.
Weather wise, it was awesome. The water was a little cold for me, but my brother swam quite a bit. It was nice and sunny all week, giving us awesome opportunities to go hiking, go to the beach, do whatever we felt like doing. Normally we get rained out at least once out of the course of the days we're camping for. Anyways, The eight of us: Me, my brother, my dad, my Aunt, her boyfriend, my other Aunt and her husband and son, and his friend; had a blast. The only thing I didn't like about the camp site, was that it was in the Radio Free zone, so we weren't allowed to play Music, Sing, or anything. We got into enough trouble sitting around the camp fire till 1 in the morning talking, lol.
Now, Friday, August 15th, 2008, we've returned from this years camping trip, and I would have to say, it was the best so far, aside from being squished more than normally on the car ride down there and on the ride back home.
On other news, I've progressed through yet another of Dean R. Koontz's books:
The Door to December, which I would have to say, along with
Whispers, another book I read by him a few weeks ago, is the best book I've ever read. I have now started
Fear Nothing which is another of Dean's books, as interesting as the storyline may be, I can't seem to get into the book. I'm sure if I could get into it, I'd love it just as much as I love the other two books I've finished by him, but I can't seem to get that into this one, sorry Dean, you're still my favourite Author though, lol. I've still got the
Odd Thomas series to read,
Darkfall,
From The Corner of his Eye, and
City of Night/Frankenstein before I progress onto any more of his books, lol.
I'm also attempting to get my hands on Stephanie Meyer's 4 book series
Twilight as well as
The Host her newest novel to hit the shelves, but she's proving to be harder to get my hands on than Harry Potter was when they first hit the shelves, lol. Aside from not having read any of the
Twilight series, I'm kind of excited about the movie that Summit Films is planning on Producing of the first book, that is due November 21st. At least that's what her
website says.
For those of you that know about my attempts to enter this world with people like Dean Koontz and Stephenie Meyer's as rivals, you'll be pleased to know that I've finished
Half Blood, my second project that I finally decided upon a name for, and have started my third project
The Missing, and have posted the first two chapters of that. For those of you that have no idea what I'm talking about, I'll inform you a tiny bit: Recently, I've gotten back into the habit of writing my own novels again, they may be short, 6 Chapter, 30 some odd pages, stories, but they're novels none the less, short stories I guess would be the proper term for them. Anyways, I've been posting these
Short Stories on my
website for anyone who has the time to read them. I've been told by a few of my readers that I've got what it takes to become an Author of Short Stories, and you'll be pleased to know that as soon as I finish
The Missing, which I hope will be a lot better than my previous projects, I am going to attempt and get it out and published in a magazine, or even to a Publishing Company and get it onto Paper Back.
I'm leaving my readers to decide the other project I send out along with
The Missing, but I have a feeling that most of them will pick
Half Blood.
So hopefully that goes well, would be a dream come true to have a chance at becoming an Author, even if I only produce Short Stories, to have them being published for everyone to read, would be a dream come true. On the 25th of August, I have a meeting with my school, so I can choose the courses for next year, I decided I'd return for half a semester to get the two credits I failed to get last year, so I can get my diploma and get out into the working world, get some experience with a job, get some references, making it a little easier to get into what I really want to do, which is being an Author.
So wish me luck (I'll need it).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Give Up The Grudge by GobDon't make me listen to the stupid broken record again
The needle's skippin' and repeatin' never reaching the end
You know you're bitching and complaining like you've got it so tough
We're sick of all your crying will you ever shut up?
So keep bleeding your fake blood 'till no one even sees it
If that's the best you can make up at least act like you mean it
[Chorus]
Give up the grudge
[Clean:] Better shut your mouth
[Explicit:] Shut your ******** mouth
why you gotta judge everybody but yourself
Take a look around you
There ain't nobody home
I may be a loser
But at least I'm not alone
Your mercedes won't start
Yeah that's a crying shame
I guess 90K a year buys nothing but complaints
The people in my neighborhood think that I'm a threat
While the boss gets richer they get deeper in debt!
So keep bleeding your fake blood 'till no one even sees it
If that's the best you can make up at least act like you mean it
[Repeat Chorus 6X]
Until next time, talk to you guys later.
