Xero: Chapter 1:
Darkness, that's all that surrounded our hero, Xero Tenjin. He wandered about in the darkness, when suddenly he heard a growling noise. He looked arround him, all over the place, but could see nothing. The growling became louder and louder with each step he took into the dark. Suddenly, a shadowy wolf pounced at him and he recoiled in fear when suddenly "Xero! Hey Xero! Wake up!" called his father, Dremora. Xero awoke from his bed, relieved that the images he had just seen was just a dream. "You're going to be late for school if you don't hurry up." said Dremora. "Alright dad" Said Xero as he hurried down stairs. Later Xero headed off to school where he was greeted by one of his only friends. Xero did not have any real friends at all really, because Xero was different. He did not enjoy doing many of the activities that the others enjoyed. Instead, he normally just sat in a shady corner, observing everyone arround him mocking him. "You ever going to just get up and do something?" Said Ramiel, his only real friend at school. "I'm fine, just leave me be. I'm used to this treatment.." said Xero, urging Ramiel to continue what he was doing. Just then the bell rang and it was time for class. After a long day in school, Xero returned home, retireing to his room where he would sit for a while.
Xero: Chapter 2:
Later that day Xero decided to go out for a walk. His father saw him off and off he went. While out walking, he met up with Ramiel, who he then started speaking to while they walked through town. "Y'know, I worry about you sometimes Xero. Everyone makes fun of you at school, and you just take it like it's nothing." said Ramiel. "I'm used to it, really. I'm just different from everyone else, I don't like doing alot of the things they enjoy doing." Said Xero. "I understand that Xero, but why don't you at least try acting normal? Maybe then people will start to respect you." Replied Ramiel. After a walk through town, Xero returned home, waveing goodbye to his friend Ramiel. It was late in the evening, and Xero decided to retire to bed for the night. The next day he went off to school, continueing his usual routine of being mocked and just sitting there. After school, one of the people from his school decided to start pushing him arround and bully him. Xero, since he didn't know any better, just
stood there and took the pain while the others laughed. Ramiel tried to help Xero, but there were too many people to go through. Finally, a young girl approached the crowd and urged them to stop the fighting "Stop this right now!" she yelled. "Well look here, a girl wants us to stop!" mocked one of the bullies, the others laughed on. "What're you gonna do about it?" mocked another. "Well, I warned you." said the girl. The girl immediately grabbed the apparent head bully and threw him accross the yard. The others stared in awe, then cleared the area. Xero then looked at the girl, her appearence was like that of an angel. "...Thanks." said Xero as he looked at the girl. "No problem." said the girl "By the way, my name's Himakio. Well, seeya arround!" She smiled and walked off. While she walked off, Xero watched her, then headed off himself back to home..
Xero: Chapter 3:
When Xero arrived at home, he was greeted by Dremora, who has noticed the scrapes and partially torn clothing on him. "What happened to you?" said Dremora. "It was nothing dad..Just a small incodent at school." said Xero. "Well what happened? Can't you tell your own father?" said Dremora. "Some of the people at my school were pushing me arround and bullying me..." said Xero as he frowned and looked away. "Well that won't do at all! You've got to learn how to fight and defend yourself! You make me worry more and more about you every day Xero." said Dremora. "Here" he continued "I'll send you to a martial arts academy, I know the teacher, he's a good man. You'll learn well from him." Dremora then hurried him off to the academy and Xero went off. When Xero walked through the doors, he noticed the others hard at work on their excercises. "Why hello there!" yelled the Sensei. Xero looked at the sensei and addressed him. "I've come here to learn from you. My father sent me.". "Very well then." said the Sensei "And who might your father be?" he asked. "My father is Dremora." said Xero. "Ah! Dremora finally sent you here did he?" said the Sensei. "Alright then, line up with the others and get to work." said the Sensei. Xero headed to the lineup, where he was greeted by one of the students in the line. "Hey." said the student. "My name's William. Welcome to the Shinbukan Academy.". "Thanks" said Xero. Xero then turned his head, and got to work on the excercises.
Xero: Chapter 4:
Xero was already hard at work, doing every excercise that was handed to him.
Just then Sensei stopped the excercise and had everyone line up. "Everyone, as we all know, new students are to aquaint themselves with their inner animal. To do so, we must first find out which animal the person has. Xero, if you don't mind." he called him foreward and placed his hand on Xero's forehead, focusing his energy. He then realized Xero's abilities and jolted back. "Sensei are you alright?!" exclaimed one student from the group. "I'm fine" said Sensei "Well Xero, your abilities are very strange indeed, unique even. Yours is a power that has not been seen in several hundreds of years.". Xero looked somewhat surprised, then stepped back into the line. "Alright everyone, at this point I'm going to instruct you all to find your parters. Everyone split into groups." Just then Xero was approached by William who then addressed him "I'll be your partner, Xero." Xero nodded and stood next to William. "Alright everyone, get to work on your excercises!" yelled the Sensei, and they all went right to work. Xero immediately started to move quickly, and his attacks seemed stronger every time he sent a blow at William. William, however, would not give up, and managed to hold his own with Xero at this time. "That's enough!" yelled Sensei "You are all dismissed for today." Xero bowed to Sensei and headed out. While Xero was heading back home, he met up with William again, who addressed him. "You did pretty good back there for your first time, Xero. Sensei was right, you are pretty unique. Well anyways, I'll see you tomorrow Xero." With that said, William headed off, and Xero continued on back home.
Xero: Chapter 5:
The next day Xero quickly headed downstairs and got through with his morning routine and then headed off to school. When he arrived there, he caught sight of Himakio and decided to address her. "Hey! Himakio!" he waved and beckoned to her. "Oh hey, how's it goin'?" She smiled and walked up to him. "I never really got a chance to thank you for helping me out the other day. You maybe want to hang out some time?" he said to her with a somewhat shy look on his face. "Sure, why not?" she smiled at him "How about we do something tomorrow?". "Sounds great" said Xero "We'll meet up after school tomorrow and maybe hang out across town.". With that said, Xero, with an accomplished look on his face, headed off to class. After school, he met up with his friend Ramiel, who then addressed him about what went on before school. "Hey, who was that you were talking to back there?" said Ramiel. "Oh that was Himakio, she's the girl who helped me out in that tussle the other day." Xero's words sounded happy to be talking about her at this time. "Oh, well alright Xero, I'll catch you later man." Said Ramiel as he waved him off. After that, Xero headed off the the Dojo for some more training with William. When he had arrived, Sensei had a special plan for Xero that day, he wanted to get Xero right into the fighting. "Xero, today we're going to have you do some special practice with William. I want you two to spar each other to test how your skills compare." said Sensei as he called Xero and William foreward. Xero stepped foreward, and took his spot in the ring while William took his. "Ready? Begin!" yelled Sensei, and the fight begun. William, being quick-tempered, quickly rushed Xero with a foreward punch aimed at his face. Xero countered by grabbing William's hand out of a natural reflex, twisted it, then kicked william away from him. William got right back up and charged Xero again, this time fakeing him out with another high punch, then landing a kick on Xero's midsection. Xero held his midsection, then stumbled up and jumped at William, sending a strong dropkick from above at him. William, not seeing this coming, was hit straight on the top of the head, and fell to the ground. "That's enough." said Sensei. "Impressive, Xero." said Sensei while clapping. "You are very gifted indeed. Alright everyone, you are dismissed." After the fight, william got back up, somewhat irritated by his loss, but still smiled and shook Xero's hand. "Good fight, Xero." said William with a smile on his face. "I hope we can spar again soon.". With that, Xero and William exited and headed back to their houses. Unknown to Xero, he was being observed while he was walking home by a mysterious figure on a rooftop. "So....This is the legendary Wolf..." said the figure with a smirk on his face.
Xero: Chapter 6:
The next day after school Xero went out looking for Himakio. He would find her standing in the schoolyard in a patch of grass. Xero walked up to her with a smile on his face and waved her down. "Hey! Himakio!" he called to her. "Oh, heya!" she smiled back as they greeted each other. "So, ready to get going?" said Himakio looking to him. "Sure." said Xero. "I was thinking of maybe a nice walk arround town, how's that?". "Sounds fun" said Himakio "Let's get going then!" she said as she grabbed Xero's hand and headed out along the walkway. They walked arround all over town, shareing conversation, laughing with each other, and finally came to a stop in the town square. There was a loud crash coming from one of the open public areas. Screaming and mass chaos could be heard. Finally, a cry was heard "Where is he?! Where is that boy!?". Xero, hearing the events, went rushing to the scene. When he turned to see the chaos going on, he spotted a figure amungst the smoke. The figure turned to Xero, calling out "I FOUND YOU!". He wildly charged Xero and slammed his midsection with a punch. Xero was launched back, coughing up some blood and struggled to his feet. "Who the hell are you?" he questioned as he stood back up. "Just call me Hawk for now, kid. It's the last name you'll ever hear!" he charged at Xero again, faster than before and with more ferocity. As Xero was about to be hit, a figure rushed in front of him and blocked the strike. The figure revealed itself to be William, clothed in his Gi. He took a defensive stance and urged Xero to stay back. "Stay back Xero! I'll handle this freak!" he charged at Hawk and leaped in the air with a spinning tornado kick. Hawk just stepped out of the way and grabbed william's leg, then simply throws him off behind him. William crashed into the wall, but got right back up and charged at him again.William faked Hawk out with a punch to his midsection, then flashed above him and sent a dropkick at his head. The dropkick was blocked, but William followed up with a roundhouse kick to Hawk's side. He landed the blow, and hawk flew towards the wall. He crashed into the wall, and emerged from the rubbel with an insane look on his face, laughing at William as he said "You think that hurt at all? It'll take alot more than that to hurt me kid! You're starting to annoy me by getting in my way...Time for you to die!" he held his arm out and concentrated a beam of energy in his palm, then released it at William. William braced himself, but it wasn't enough to block the beam. William then crashed into a wall, burried in the rubble. Xero, seeing all that was going on let out a yell "NO!" he said as he got back into the scene "William!!" he shouted. "You....You b*****d! You said you came to fight me right? That you wanted to take me out? Well then come and get me!!!!!" he shouted as he took a defensive stance. "That's more like it kid!" said Hawk "I like my prey when it goes down fighting!" he rushed at Xero with another punch at his midsection. Xero, acting off of sudden instinct, stepped to the side and grabbed Hawk's arm and threw him off. Hawk crashed to the ground, then got back up. "Is that all you got kid?" laughed Hawk. "I'm gonna take you down nice and slow." he charged Xero again, this time warping behind him then sending a punch at Xero's back. Xero turned arround and sent a knee at hawk as he approached. The knee hit hawk in his midsection and caused him to fall. As Hawk got back up to send another blow at Xero, Xero grabbed hawk and held him by the neck. "You idiot....You didn't come here to fight that kid at all, did you? No, I'll bet you didnt...You came to fight ME!" said a mysterious voice as Hawk was punched in his midsection then thrown into the air. Hawk came crashing down, slightly shaken by the blow. "Damnit....What happened to you?" he said as he struggled up. "Oh don't you worry about me, I'd be worrying about yourself if I were you." said the voice which seemed to take over Xero's body as he smirked. "I am Teichi, the wolf of shadows!"
Xero: Chapter 7:
Xero, now posessed by Teichi the shadow wolf, stood before Hawk, half of his face had the outline of a wolf. He had a devilish smirk on his face as he turned to face Hawk. "Alright, let's get the real fight going!" said Xero as he crouched onto all fours and leapt towards Hawk fiercely. Hawk attempted to counter the attack by sending a beam of energy straight at Xero, but Xero was too fast for it. Xero warped behind Hawk and sent a swipe at his back. Hawk took the swipe and was sent hurling to the ground. He crashed into the ground, making a crater from the impact. He got back up, and looked at Xero, now bleeding down his back from the scratch. "Damn..you!" hawk jumped back up at Xero, warping above him and attempting to dropkick Xero to the ground. Xero looked above him, grabbed Hawk's leg, then flung him back down. Hawk landed on both feet, then realized that it was time to get serious. "Alright.." said Hawk. "Time I stopped messing arround. Time I showed you my true power!" hawk stood in a special stance, fanning out his arms, energy started surrounding him in a shell. When he emerged from the shell, he now had wings and razor sharp energy feathers on his arms. "Heh, bring it on.." said Xero with a smirk on his face. Hawk jumped at Xero, now even faster than before, and quickly swiped at Xero with one of his wings. Xero quickly spun arround and parried the swipe, sending another slash at Hawk. Hawk, who was obviously too quick in the air, dodged the blow, and grabbed Xero with his talons. Xero struggled to get free, but couldn't. Hawk laughed insanely and plummited to the ground feet first in an attempt to ram Xero into the ground. Xero quickly flipped over, ripping out of the talon hold and now stood on top of hawk, slamming him downward into the ground. Hawk was slammed into the ground. Another crater formed from the impact. Xero got back on all fours on the ground and smirked. "That all you got?" he laughed. Hawk got back up from the crater and stood. "Not even close...Allow me to show you my greatest technique!" Hawk jumped into the air and flew as high as he could. He then concentrated a powerful beam form his mouth, then two more from his talons. He kept his arms out as he merged all three beams into one. Finally, he released all of his razor sharp feathers. The feathers all flew at Xero as Hawk unleashed his beam of energy straight for Xero. As the feathers flew at him, he tried dodging them, but the powerful beam was heading right at him at the same time. Xero braced for the beam, still on all fours in a protective stance. The feathers and the beam slammed Xero all at the same time. He attempted to hold back against the beam, pushing back hard, then sending one powerful swipe at the beam, breaking it in half. Hawk, who couldn't see past the cloud of smoke, thought that Xero had been finished off and started laughing. However, Xero leapt emirged from the cloud, looking right at Hawk. "So much for your ultimate technique, eh?" he smirked as he leapt at Hawk with one powerful shadow swipe. He slashed Hawk down to the ground. Hawk, now knocked out, went hurling to the ground with a slam. Xero landed on the ground on all fours. "Heh...That was interesting kid..." said the voice controling Xero. As Xero fainted from exaustion, the black aura disappeared, and Xero fell to the ground. Himakio, whom was watching this all along, looked somewhat frightened from all that had happened, and ran off. Xero awoke some time later to find William standing over him. "Oh good you're awake!" said William. "You took quite a few cuts back there. I don't know what happened, but it must've been good. That Hawk guy disappeared after I found you, so don't worry about him for now." william helped Xero up, and they headed off.
Xero: Chapter 8:
The next day while in one of the school hallways Xero was approached by one of the bullies ffrom the other day who then started insulting him "Hey loser, come back for another beating?" he mocked. "No.." said Xero "Just leave me be this time, and you won't get hurt..." Xero turned away and started walking off when he was blocked off by another of the bullies "where do ya think you're goin'?" said the bully. "Alright fine.." said Xero "Have it your way..." as a group of the bullies surrounded Xero, he immediately grabbed one of them and threw him at one of the others. The bully crashed into a group of the others,and Xero went for the head bully now. He sent a sweep kick at the bully to knock him off his feet, then threw him across the hallway. After seeing this, the others cleard out and ran off. "Well well" said a mysterious figure. "You did good out there...What's your name kid?" Xero looked at where the voice was coming from. A tall dark black cloaked man was standing in the hallway. "My name is Xero....Xero Tenjin. Who wants to know?" said Xero, looking at the man. "Nobody in particular." said the man "I was just wondering if you would like to speak with me for a moment in private." he beckoned to Xero. "Well..Alright." said Xero. The two then went to a darkened spot in the hall and began speaking. "You have quite a bit of talent there kid, how's about you join my little 'organization'?" said the man. "Before anything" said Xero "I want your name." he looked at the man. "Call me Asid, Asid Mjolnir." said the man. "Well, Asid. Keep going. I'm listening." said Xero. "Very well" said Asid "My organization deals with certain people and issues involving others' wrongdoings. We exist to correct whatever wrongdoing has been committed, and dispose of the wrongdoer." he then looked to Xero "So, are you in?". "Alright.." said Xero. "Good, good." said Asid. "I'm heading out now, you can contact me any time using this." he handed Xero a communicator of some sort. Xero slipped it in his pocket "Alright...I'll be seeing you then.." said Asid as he walked off into the darkness. Xero then exited the halls after the schoolbell rang, and headed out.
Xero: Chapter 9:
After Xero had walked out on Asid, refuseing to give up Himakio, he headed to train some more with William. Today was a special occasion, Sensei wanted to train Xero personally this time, to teach him a technique to help bring out a partial element of the wolf. "Listen closely" said Sensei "Today I'm going to teach you how to do a partial transformation, in order to raise your strength level.". "Alright" said Xero "What do I have to do?". "All you have to do is follow my program and do exactly as I do." said Sensei. Sensei looked at Xero and took a backwards defensive stance and crossed his arms. "Hold this position, and focus your energy to your hands and feet" said Sensei. Xero did exactly that, and a black aura started covering his hands, and then his feet. "Impressive" said Sensei "You're catching on quickly.". "Thanks" said Xero "So now what do I gotta do?" he looked at sensei, almost seeming confused. "Well" said Sensei "In order to test your newly aquired skill, I'm going to have you do another spar with William." with that said, he called William foreward to take a side in the ring. William stood in the ring, and Xero took the other side. William took a special stance, and with that an orange aura surrounded him. William charged Xero, this time faster than before, and appeared right behind Xero. Xero turned, grabbed william's arm, and threw him behind him. William got back up, charged at Xero again and started circleing him. Xero, barely following William, was caught by surprise and hit from behind in the back. Xero then dashed at William and at just the right moment hit william, sending him falling to the ground. William, who was knocked down, surrendered with Xero standing over him. His orange aura disappeared and he got back up. "Good, Xero. Excellent work." said Sensei. "Alright, you two are both dismissed." and they both hurried off. Xero, while on the way home, spotted Himakio speaking with someone along the sidewalk, but didn't pay any mind to it, since he thought it was just a friendly conversation, and off he went.
Xero: Chapter 10:
The next day, Xero arrived at school. He went through another hard day, and then headed out, while he was going through town, he ran into Himakio, who then walked up to him, looking him straight in the eye as she said to him "I....I can't be arround you anyomore.." then walked off. Xero followed her silently, to see what was going on. When he had followed her trail to the end, she met up with the man he had seen her with the previous day. Xero took some time to observe the two of them, as he heard the man saying "Well, did you do it? Is he out of the picture?". Himakio replied with a faint "..Yes." as she looked him in the eye. "Good." said the man "Now we can be together uninterrupted.". Xero, seeing this, was incredibly angered and charged out of his hideing place. "You! You b*****d!" he looked at the man standing next to Himakio. "So, you decided to show follow her here? No matter, I'll dispose of you quickly and get this over with." the man looked straight at Xero. "You b*****d! I'll kill you!" said Xero as he took a stance and the black aura appeared arround him. "Funny" said the man as he laughed and charged at Xero. Xero tried defending himself with his claw hands, but it had no effect. Xero was knocked clear accross the field. The man persued Xero and immediately pinned him down, and looked him in the eye again. "Ah, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Daiben, Daiben Haikibutsu.". Xero grabbed Daiben's leg and said "It doesn't matter to me what your name is....I'm gonna kill you!" he tried pulling Daiben down while lifting himself up, but was grabbed by the neck instead. Daiben laughed at him and mocked him. "You actually think you can beat me? You're just a pathetic kid who barely makes it through his own school. You'll never beat me." Daiben began delivering punches to Xero's face rapidly. Xero was taking the punches hard, an agonized look was on his face. Daiben then kicked Xero in his midsection, then jumped up and threw him to the ground. Xero was coughing up blood on the ground, barely concious, looking to Himakio, yelling to her for help. Himakio just watched, with no expression of emotion on her face, then turned away from Xero. Daiben then approached Xero again, laughing. "You're pathetic kid, she's with me now, live with it." With that said, he walked off with Himakio, feeling betrayed and beaten. Before Daiben had walked off, Xero struggled back up, looking furious, and sent ine final slash at Daiben. "Black fang slash!" Daiben turned arround, and was hit, leaving a scar on his face. Daiben just turned away and walked off as Xero collapsed to the ground.
Xero: Chapter 11:
After the fight, several hours later, Xero woke up in the field, laying there. Xero felt betrayed, angered, and saddened at this point, but he got back up and walked out of it in one piece, torn and beaten, but he was still alive. Xero had decided that it was time to get serious, he vowed for revenge no matter what it takes, so he decided to pay Asid a visit. When Xero had arrived, the door to a strange chamber opened to him. "I've been expecting you.." said Asid as he emerged from the darkness. Xero then turned to face Asid. "How did you know?" said Xero, looking confused at Asid. "Let's just say I knew you'd end up coming here one way or another." said Asid. "...Alright." said Xero "I came to ask you to help me master my powers.". "I know" said Asid "And we should get to that as soon as we can now shouldn't we?" Asid had a grin on his face. "Alright" said Xero "So what do I have to do?". "We're going to teach you 'full transformation'." said Asid "And this won't be easy. It could take several years. Are you willing to take the training?" Asid looked seriously at Xero. "I'll do it." said Xero "I'll do anything to get stronger.". "So be it..." said Asid. "We will begin immediately, but first, allow me to introduce you to my assistants." he beckoned for a few people to come foreward. "These are Rachel, Sharon, and Sarah. They are my primary assistants my 'right hand' if you will." The three of them nodded to Xero "They will also be assisting you in your training" said Asid. "Alright" said Xero "Let's get this started already.". "Oh but it's not that simple." said Rachel "In order to unlock your true potential, you must first look inside your own soul so that you may form a pact with the spirit within. To do this, you'll be placed under a special seal, but you are also at risk at this point. While you are in your mind, your body may convert to its wolf state at any time." "That's where we come in" said Sharon "We're here to make sure you don't go out of control while you're in there." said Sarah. "Alright" said Xero "I'll do it. Let's just get this over with..". "Very well" said Asid "Rachel, prepare the seal." he motioned for Rachel to approach Xero. "Yes sir." said Rachel as she readed a special scroll. After writing on the scroll, Rachel placed it on Xero's back. Xero felt a sudden jolt, then fainted, sitting down. Xero was now inside of his own mind. The inside of Xero's mind was exactly like the nightmare he had had the other day. Nothing but darkness all arround him, and growling. Just like in the dream, the growling became louder and louder, until finally, the wolf leapt at Xero. Xero recoiled and stepped sideways, dodging the beast. "So...You've come at last to form a pact with me, have you?" said the wolf. "Yes" said Xero. "Very well" said the wolf. "My name is Teichi, and if you can defeat me in battle, I will submit to you." he growled at Xero. Xero had a terrified look on his face, but took a defensive stance anyways, and engaged the wolf in combat. The wolf charged Xero. Xero grabbed the wolf as he jumped at him, but the wolf warped behind him and slashed Xero off his feet. "You'll have to do better than that boy." said Teichi. Meanwhile in the real world, Sarah and Sharon were having some problems of their own. Xero had converted into his wolf form, and was wildly charging them both. Barely holding their own against Xero's wolf state, but seeming to know all about its moves and combat style, they fought on. Xero, on the other hand, was barely holding out against Teichi. Finally, in a move of despiration, Xero decided to negociate with Teichi. "Hear me out! I know what you desire, and you know what I desire. So if I were to surrender myself to you, will you grant me the power I desire?". said Xero, worn out from fighting. "Sounds interesting.." said Teichi. "Very well boy, I will grant you my power at the cost of your soul.." with that Teichi faded away, and Xero awoke from his mental state. The black aura still surrounded Xero, and he still had a wolf-like appearence, but he stood up, keeping his balance, instead of standing on all fours. "Excellent.." said Asid "Now train with us, and we will help you master that power.." he beckoned to Xero. "I don't think so.." said Xero, with the aura still surrounding him. "I'm off to go train with myself...I no longer require you.." Xero then leapt into the air, charged up a beam and sent an extremely powerful ball of dark energy at the building, leaving it in complete rubbel and destroying everything inside. After that, Xero flew off without even looking back. This was the last you will see of our hero for now, but we'll see how things turn out in the next chapter...
Xero: Chapter 12:
When we last left Xero Tenjin, he had just formed a deal with Teichi, the wolf spirit of shadows within him. Nothing but wasteland on a trail surrounded Xero as he was walking down the path. Wearing a black cloak, appearing to have medium long black hair, and carrying a sword on his back, Xero had been walking for days, searching for power, wherever it may be. Along the trail, he spotted a man with a small kart of merchendise, and approached them. When Xero had approached the man with the kart, he was jumped by a young boy, appearing to be no older than the age of thirteen. Xero tore off his cloak, grabbed the boy by the arm, and threw him into the kart. The other man unsheathed a sword and engaged Xero. Xero pulled out his own sword and blocked every blow sent at him. Finally, the man was foolish enough to try to sneak up on Xero from behind, Xero immediately thrust his sword behind him, and ran the man through with his sword. When he pulled his sword out, the man fell to the ground. The boy, who was watching the whole thing was terrified, he rushed Xero with a small knife, hopeing to land a hit. Xero simply stepped sideways and tripped the boy, then held his sword to the boy's neck. "What do you want boy?" said Xero in a very cold and forbidding voice. "P..Please don't hurt me! My father and I are very poor and we began making a living robbing travelers along this trail. Forgive me!" the boy begged Xero. Xero then sheathed his sword and pulled the boy up. "What is your name, boy?" he looked at him. "D..Damia Funatowa sir." said the still shaken up boy. "Well, Damia Funatowa, come join me along the road, and I will spare your life." he turned and faced the road again. "Thank you! I will serve you for as long as I live!". "Very well.." said Xero, and the two continued along the road....
Xero: Chapter 13:
While walking along the road, Xero was getting weary, and stopped along the trail. Damia looked up to him and asked "What's wrong?". "We've been walking in this desert wasteland for days, we should stop here and camp." said Xero. "Well, my home village of Shengu isn't too far from here, we could rest there." said Damia. "Very well." said Xero "Lead the way.." and they walked on. When they reached the village entrance, it appeared to be a poor town of poverty in the middle of a desert wasteland. "Alright" said Damia "Here we are. Shengu Village.". Xero looked upon the place, almost disgusted, but still walked towards into the village. "We can stay at my house." said Damia. "Where might that be?" said Xero. "It's just down the road over there. Follow me." and on they went. While they were walking along the road in the village, the villagers couldn't help but stare at Xero as he walked by. They had never seen such a strange person as Xero. Amung the chatter were rumors that perhaps Xero was a member of the imfamous Shengu clan. A group of people who had been terrorizing their Village for years now. Others just claimed that he was a random stranger and that nobody should bother with him. Xero couldn't help but hear the comments, and immediately asked Damia "What is this 'Shengu Clan' the people speak of?" Damia looked arround then quickly beckoned Xero into his home, afraid of anyone who may be listening. "The Shengu Clan is a gang of thugs who have been terrorizing our village for many years. They're the reason why this village is so poor." said Damia. "I see.." said Xero. "Well maybe there is something I can do to help. Who might I ask is their gang leader? Do you know?". "I don't know much" replied Damia "All I know is that he goes by the name Scythe.". "Alright" said Xero "I'll see what I can do about this 'Scythe' character." just then a crowd of panicing people went running down the streets yelling "They're here! They're here! Everybody hide!". Xero immediately went outside, ordering Damia to stay at the house in case anything were to happen. When Xero had gotten outside, he was greeted by a group of thugs "Well look who we got here boys!" they all laughed and pulled out their weapons. Xero, who was just stareing at them, unsheathed his sword and faced the group. He then swiftly charged the group, made a single slash, and one of them fell. The others wee inraged, and charged Xero again. Xero Blocked every blow sent at him, then made a swift spin of his sword, and the thugs all fell to the ground. Xero sheathed his sword, and the amazed villagers then ran at him thanking him. "This man is the answer to our prayers!" cried one. Xero looked upon this almost annoyed, and cleared the crowd off and retired to hte house. The crowd chattered on then cleared away from the building. "That was amazing!" said Damia with enthusiasm. "It was nothing special..Those were only small time thugs, I could tell. The real battle is comming, I can sense it..."
Xero: Chapter 14:
The next day Xero woke Damia up early and took him outside for a quick training session. "Alright Damia, you're going to show me your worth today. I am going to determine the power you posess." . "Alright..." said Damia with a nervous look on his face. Xero unsheathed his sword and faced Damia. Damia ran frantically at Xero. Xero took a defensive stance, and determined Damia's fighting style to be that of the Monkey. Knowing his fighting style and how to train it, Xero moved quickly arround Damia, and gave Damia the chance to experience his power firsthand. After a few hours of training, Xero addressed Damia. "It's time you and I headed back to the village.". Damia nodded and they headed back. When they arrived back at the village, it was under attack again! Damia ran towards the burning Village, and Xero followed behind. When they arrived in the village, a tall authoritative figure was standing in the village center. "A patrol group we sent to collect the money didn't return. What happened to it?!" the leader yelled at the people. Xero stepped in and interrupted "I think I can answer that. -I- Happened to them." said Xero as he looked the leader right in the face. The leader, who was infuriated by the comment Xero had made ordered all his men to attack Xero. Xero drew his sword and faced the group. As the 30 men approached Xero, Xero dashed off quickly into the crowd of the men. Almost instantly a large portion of them fell to the ground. The others tried to keep track of him, but he was too quick. After a few clashing swords, the crowd surrounding Xero had fallen to the ground, leaving only Xero in sight. Xero then faced the leader and called out to him "Is that all you can send at me? Petty thugs?" Xero grinned. The leader of the group, who was obviously incredibly mad at this point, addressed Xero. "You....Alright, if you want me to fight you, so be it..." the leader pulled out a large scythe and faced Xero. "Alright, it's time to show you what I can really do." he charged Xero with his large scythe at hand, he made one swipe at Xero. However, Xero was too quick, he had already flashed right behind the leader and slashed his sword at the leader's back. The leader was slashed, but wasn't going to give up yet. He turned arround and faced Xero again "So...You must be Scythe, right?" said Xero. "Correct, I am Scythe." replied the gang leader. "So that means if I take you down then this town is safe..Then I will not lose." Xero brought his sword up again and rushed Scythe quicker than he could react. Scythe was slashed again, but he still got back up. "My turn..." said Scythe as he focused energy into his scythe's tip and fired it at Xero. Xero dodged the attack and stood in front of Scythe. "That's an interesting little attack you have there...Funny thing is I have one exactly like it." Xero grinned and focused a large ammount of energy through his sword's blade, and then released it at Scythe in a single slash. The energy hit Scythe, leaving a trail of rubble behind on impact. Scythe struggled to get up, barely standing after that blow. Xero immediately warped behind Scythe and sent a final slash from behind him. Scythe was hit, and fell. "Damn...You..." he uttered as he fell dead on the ground. Xero returned to the group of villagers in the village center, and sheathed his sword. The villages all cheered and shouted as Xero returned victorious. The village elder approached Xero and addressed him "Oh thank you. Thank you very much. Is there anything we can do to assist you at all?" Xero then asked the elder "Well, there is one thing. Have you at all seen a tall black haired man with a long blonde haired woman come through here?" asked Xero. The elder replied to him "Well, yes. As a matter of fact I seem to remember two people fitting your description comming through here some time ago. They headed east from here. Beyond that I'm not sure.". "Thank you. We'll be heading off now.." said Xero, bowing to the elder. Damia bowed as well as they waved goodbye to the crowd and headed east.
Xero: Chapter 15:
After a few weeks of walking along the east road, Xero and Damia came upon a small eastern town. This town seemed more civilized than shouya. This amazed Damia, seeing how much cleaner and more populated it was than shouya. Xero immediately began walking arround, asking whoever he could about Himakio and Daiben, and where he could possibly find them. Xero didn't have much luck, and so he went to the elder to see if perhaps he knew anything. The elder had seen figures looking like Himakio and Daiben, but unfortunatly did not remember which dirrection they headed in. Dismayed, Xero decided to set out from their current position and make camp in the wilderness. While they were leaving the village,Damia said with a worried tone to Xero "Xero, we've been at this search for weeks, months even,but still nothing. I think you should just give up and focus on other things.". Xero then looked at Damia with a very fierce and irritated look and said to him "I don't care what you or anyone else says. I will NOT stop searching until I find her, and take my revenge. Even if it takes the rest of my life, I will find her, and I will kill them both. There is NOTHING you or anyone else can say to make me think otherwise!" he shouted at Damia. After they had left town, they made a camp about 20 miles out, and settled down to rest. Later in the night, Damia awoke, feeling the need to train himself for a while. While out training, the most amazing thing happened to him. A figure bearing the appearence of an angel appeared before Damia and addressed him "Please...Do you at all know a person by the name of Xero..?" she sounded worried and afraid while she spoke to Damia. Damia replied to her "Well...Yes. Xero and I are traveling through the wilderness, drifting from town to town.". The figure then asked him "Well..Can you tell me exactly why? I knew him..Very well actually.." Damia looked curiously at the figure and then finally asked "Well then, may I ask your name?". The figure replied "My name is Himakio.." Damia looked very surprised as he gazed at her presence. "So you're the one he's been looking for all this time...All these years.". Himakio looked at Damia curiously and said "He's been looking for me..? Why?". "Well" said Damia "He wishes to search for you, and kill you..". Himakio looked saddened "Why would he want to kill me..? What have I done to him..?". Damia couldn't help but feel sad as well after looking at her face. "He never really told me.." said Damia. "Well..." said Himakio "My time here is short, I cannot stay much longer...Tell Xero that I miss him...and that I love him..." Himakio began fadeing away. Damia, feeling strange after speaking to the person who Xero desired to kill so much, wondering why he would want to kill someone so beautiful as Himakio. He thought for a while, then retired to his tent. The next morning Xero and Damia woke up, and got out of their tents. After tearing down camp, they were on their way. Along the trail, Damia remembered his encounter from the previous night and then addressed Xero "Xero. I have something that I know you'll want to hear.". Xero looked to him and then said "Well, let's hear it. What do you find so important as to address me like that?". "You'll never believe who I spoke with last night.." said Damia. "And who exactly did you speak with, Damia?" asked Xero. "I spoke with Himakio last night, Xero..." said Damia, nervously. "Well you were right about one thing.." said Xero "I DON'T Believe you.". "But I'm telling the truth Xero! I know what I saw last night! It was her!". "Bullshit!" said Xero with a furious tone, looking furious at Damia. "Don't you EVER lie to me about something like that Damia!" yelled Xero. "But Xero! You have to believe me! Why would I lie to you about this?! I'm telling the truth!". Xero looked even more angry and grabbed Damia by the throat and held him up "Hear me, Damia. If you continue this lie any longer, or utter her name once more, I will strike you down where you stand." Xero's eyes were glowing red and a slight black aura could be seen ellumenating from Xero. Damia gulped then said "Y...Yes Sir..." and Xero put Damia down. Xero went into deep thought while they continued down the trail, wondering how Damia would know Himakio's appearence,or why he would lie to him about Himakio. Damia too was in deep thought, now too nervous to even say a word, and they both carried on.

Xero: Chapter 16
In the last chapter where we left off, Damia and Xero were continueing down the road after Damia had an amazing encounter with Himakio. We join them now in the heat of an intense training session with Damia. Clash! "Damia! You have to block quicker!" yelled Xero as he sent another blow at Damia. Slam! Damia repelled the attack this time, quicker than before. "Good, good. You're progressing well, Damia." said Xero with a smirk. The clashing and clanging continued for several hours. After the session was completed, Xero decided that it was time to pay his old hometown a visit, since they were close by. When they had reached the gate, Damia surveyed the scenary of Xero's hometown with amazement. When they walked in, Xero headed towards his old dojo in hopes of finding his old comrades. When he entered the dojo, the whole class stared at him as he walked in. The first person to rush over to him was William. "Xero! It's been over three years since I last saw you! Where've you been?" he looked excited to finally see Xero again. "Well.." said Xero "I've been away, wandering. Nothing more." Xero looked away. "So you'll come back to join us again?" asked William. "No..." said Xero "I didn't come here to waste my time with memories of the past.." Xero walked away. William followed behind him, wanting to know where he was headed. When Xero had come to a stop, he spoke out "Alright William, you can stop hideing now..." William immediately came out of hideing and approached Xero again. "But Xero! You have to stay! It's been too long! We all missed you!" yelled William. "These things no longer matter to me, William. All I seek is revenge.." William was outraged at this answer "But what about your friends!? What about us?! Do we matter to you anymore!?" Shouted William. "None of it matters anymore, William. You must understand." said Xero to William. "Understand what? That you're willing to throw away your friends and everything else you hold dear for whatever it is you're doing now?! I don't believe you Xero! I'll smack the sense into you if I have to!" he was ready to attack Xero. "Indeed you will try, but you shall fail.." Xero stood ready to defend. William raged at Xero, a strong aura surrounding him. Xero warped behind William and smacked him into a wall. William sprung back up, angrier than before. Xero simply looked at William with disappointment. "If you truely wish to defeat me here, then come at me with everything you have, you will need it." William was enraged now more than ever and stood faing Xero then shouted "Alright! You want to see everything I have?! Then here I come!" William gathered all his energy together to form a strong orange aura arround him, summoning the powers of the tiger demon within him. With the aura complete, William exploded energy from his palms and sent it at Xero. Xero held out his hand to block the energy wave as it reached him. When it reached him, he pushed back, but could not push it back with just one hand alone, he brought out both hands and tried harder to push the wave back. William pushed more on the wave and finally Xero was overcome by it. He was thrown back into a wall and the wall crumbled on top of him. William, now exausted and thinking it was over, took a deep breath and turned away. "Well then..." said Xero, getting up from the rubble. "Was that really all you had..?" he looked at William. William looked back at Xero, now frightened. "It appears as though it was....How unfortunate..." Xero held out his palm at William and concentrated a large beam then sent it at William. William was overtaken by the beam and sent flying. Xero chased behind him, then appeared in front of him and smacked him away again. William went crashing into the ground, then struggled back up. "It's over, William. You haven't improved at all as I anticipated...A pity." he looked away from William. Xero then walked away and went to find Damia. William let out a yell "DAMN YOU!HOW COULD YOU DO THIS?! WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE WORTH DOING THIS?! WHAT'S HAPPENED TO YOU? YOU'VE GONE COMPLETELY INSANE!". Xero just looked back for a moment, then walked away.

Xero: Chapter 17:
After Xero had found Damia, he ordered "Damia, it's time for us to leave, I've wasted enough time here already..." Damia nodded, then followed Xero out of the town. When they left, William followed behind from a distance, keeping an eye on them. After watching them he headed out after them. "Well Xero, looks like you've completely lost your mind, but whatever it is you're dong, I'll help you in whatever ways I can. That's why I'm coming with you!" William uttered to himself as he set off after them. As they walked on, Xero clenched something in his fist that he had picked up from his old hometown, and walked on. Later that day, after a long while of walking, Xero stopped and set up a camp with Damia. Damia set out to train, while Xero stood watching the campsite. Later on in the night, Xero did not rest, even for a moment, He just couldn't stop clenching the object in his fist, looking out into the distance. As the hours went by, Xero began seeing a faint light appearing in front of him. He had just thought it was a dream, but then realized that he didn't fall asleep at all that night. The light got brighter, and the figure appeared in front of him. Xero stared at the figure until he could see exactly who it was. It was Himakio! Xero turned away. Himakio spoke out to him "Xero! Oh Xero I finally found you!" she grabbed him and embraced him. Xero threw her off of him. "You've got alot of nerve showing your face to me again after what you did to me...Even coming up to me like this." said Xero, turning to face her. She looked at Xero, afraid "Xero...What's wrong? What did I do?.." Xero grabbed her by the neck and threw her again. "What the hell do you mean 'what did I do'? You ruined my life!" Himakio looked even more frightened at Xero now, she started to tear up. "Xero....You're hurting me..." Xero simply looked her in the eye and replied "Good. Maybe now you'll know what you put me through, what I had to endure, how badly I felt to be betrayed by you!". "But I didn't do any of that...It was all his doing...." she looked at him. "His doing?" said Xero "What do you mean 'his doing'...?" Xero stopped and looked curiously. "I never meant any of this to happen..." said Himakio "He made me go with him, he told me it was either me or he would kill you..You have to understand, me looking away like that wasn't me at all...It was just him, he was useing you, playing with your mind...Making you hate me..." It was at that moment that Xero had changed entirely. "Are you sure you're not lying..?" Xero looked curiously at Himakio again. "Yes." said Himakio "I swear to you that this is the truth...Please Xero...You have to help me...". Xero looked at her, then looked away and responded "I will...I will save you Himakio. I promise you I will not allow anything to happen to you. I swear this on my life..." "Good.." replied Himakio "Because my time with you here is short...I'm fadeing..." Xero stopped her and asked "Wait! If you're not really here, then where -are- you? Can you tell me?" Himakio replied with the last few moments she had "I'm in a small town in the far east. Please help me.." with that, she faded away into the air. Xero immediately turned his head to the east, clenched his fist and said "Don't you worry Himakio...I will save you. I won't let anything happen to you!"

Xero: Chapter 18:
After many weeks of walking down old roads and passing form town to town, Xero and Damia finally reached their destination. A small town full of the worst criminals you could think of. Xero headed into town ready for anything that might come at him. He entered through the gate wearing a black cloak and hat to conceal his identity in case something should happen. When he had reached a tavern, he ordered Damia to stay outside since this would be too risky for him to enter such a dangerous area. Xero asked arround for any clues that might lead him to exactly where Daiben and Himakio were. The crowd looked at him, some roughed him arround, others just stared. "Hey buddy, who the hell do you think you are?" laughed one of them. Finally one of the thugs got up from his table and approached Xero. "You think you're some kinda tough guy don't you? Well c'mon then, prove it." he put up his fists and slipped a knife from his sleeve. Xero got up, faced him, grabbed his arm and twisted the knife out of his grip then threw the man out the window. As soon as this had happened the entire tavern rose and started chargeing Xero from every angle. Xero blocked every attack that came at him, and by the time he was finished the entire bar was trashed and in ruins. Damia was hearing the whole thing, and when Xero walked out of the bar, Damia stared in awe. "Come on Damia, we won't find our answers here.." and he kept going through the town. Finally they reached the center of the town, where everyone gathered. Xero pushed through the crowd until finally he saw them. Xero immediately charged at Daiben with his sword and made a swipe at him from behind. Daiben simply stopped it with his own hand, then turned arround and addressed Xero. "I had a feeling you'd show up here...So you've finally come for me to finish you off?" he smirked at Xero. Xero replied "No...I came here to kill you." then tossed off his hat. "Where is she?" said Xero "Where is Himakio?" he looked angry at Daiben. "Ooh, you mean her?" Daiben smirked and flashed up to a figure who was standing on top of a rooftop. "You want her? Alright, come get her." he smirked and picked her up then threw her into the crowd at Xero. Xero quickly caught Himakio, stared her in the eyes as she smiled at him. He then handed her off to Damia and ordered him "Damia, protect Himakio, keep her safe no matter what happens, understand?" Damia nodded and went off to a safe place. Xero stood stareing Daiben down as they squared off in the town center. "Well? Make your move." said Daiben, almost mocking him. "I intend to..." said Xero. Xero got into a stance and charged up all the energy he had "I'm not going to waste any time with this fight Daiben! It ends here!" yelled Xero. Daiben laughed mockingly "Talk is cheap kid, lemme see what you got." Xero pulled out his sword and charged Daiben swiftly and as quickly as he could. Daiben stopped the sword with a single hand, then broke it with that hand. "Impressive kid, but did you really think you could beat me with that little toy?". Xero stopped for a moment, then got knocked back into a building. The building came crashing down on Xero, but he emerged from the rubble still bursting with power. "My turn.." said Xero as he took a stance then exploded with every ounce of energy he had. A dark black aura surrounded him, his hair grew longer, his teeth formed into fangs, and his hands and feet into claws. Xero then let out a loud growl and send a large dark beam at Daiben. Daiben was overwhelmed by the massive energy being sent at him and was engulfed by the large wave and knocked through several buildings. Daiben got up, but Xero appeared right behind him and kicked him back again. Daiben went flying into more and more piles of rubble. He got up again and faced Xero. "What the hell did you do to yourself damnit! This is insane.." Xero appeared behind Daiben and smacked him back again. "What's the matter Daiben?! Afraid that someone as 'pathetic' as me is outclassing you now?!" yelled Xero mockingly. Daiben started laughing, then his laugh grew into an insane laughter. "Well well, looks like you ARE much better now...I'll never beat you in my current state, so I guess it's time to show you my true power." Daiben suddenly exploded with energy and flahsed right in front of Xero then send a punch straight for Xero. Xero was hit hard by the punch and smacked straight to the ground. The impact formed a large crater in the middle of the town. Xero got back up and rushed Daiben again furiously. He sent a massive energy slash at Daiben. Daiben blocked, and the impact made a large explosion of energy as they colided. Xero then appeared behind Daiben and sent a blow right at his back, Daiben turned arround and blocked then smacked Xero away. Xero quickly regained control and sent a massive energy blast straight for Daiben. Daiben blocked the energy beam, but Xero appeared right over him and sent a dropkick which sent daiben falling to the ground leaving another large crater. Daiben got up, smirked, then sent a beam straight at Himakio and Damia. Xero, knowing that Damia couldn't hope to block a beam of that size, jumped in the way of the beam and took it full blast. Xero struggled back up, looking to Himakio then facing Daiben again. Xero was starting to feel weak, and thought to himself "I can't keep this up much longer...If I do, 'He' will take control...". Regardless, Xero again lept up and charged Daiben with another clashing blow. Another explosion was seen, followed by several others. The fight raged on and on and seemed like it would never end. Xero again charged Daiben ferociously, forming a whip out of the shadow energy and wrapped it arround Daiben. He threw Daiben down to the ground then pulled him back up. As Daiben reached Xero, he countered the punch that Xero was about to send with a kick to his side. Xero was hit, then Daiben grabbed a hold of him and wrapped his arms arround him, constricting him from behind. Daiben laughed insanely and shot himself towards the ground quickly, carrying Xero with him. The two smashed into the ground, and Xero struggled back up. Daiben jumped back into the air then addressed Xero "I'm growing tired of all this damn fighting. I think it's time to end this once and for all. Once I kill you, Himakio will be next, then I'll take you ALL down!" He laughed insanely as he charged a massive ammount of energy to his arm. The energy enveloped Daiben's arm, and his entire arm turned into a massive blade. "Zennou Kireme, my most powerful technique. I figured I'd give you the pleasure of witnessing it before you die." Said Daiben as he pointed the blade at Xero. Xero faced the slash and did all he could to block it as Daiben thrusted the blade straight at him. Despite his efforts, Xero could not block this attack, Xero was impaled! Xero grunted after being impaled straight through his chest by Daiben's blade, and grabbed the blade. "No...I refuse...To let this end here...! I will not let you harm Himakio!" he gripped the blade "I came here to save Himakio...And to kill you Daiben! I.....I REFUSE TO DIE HERE!" He let out a burst of shadow energy that climbed up the blade towards Daiben. Xero pulled the blade from his chest and rushed towards Daiben as the shadow moved up the blade. "N..No! I-Impossible!" cried Daiben as Xero went flying toward him. Xero molded the shadow arround him into a blade and grasped it as he flew towards Daiben "I CAN'T AFFORD TO DIE HERE DAIBEN!" Shouted Xero as he arrived in front of Daiben, He let out a slash and sliced Daiben's blade arm off and the bladed shattered, sending his arm falling to the ground. Daiben stood there in utter shock as the blood gushed from his side. Xero immediately sent another slash at Daiben's chest, slicing him further, Xero then drove his blade straight through Daiben's heart. Daiben let out a grunt then spoke out to Xero his last words. "Damn...You...You piece of s**t...!" with that, Daiben fell and Xero just stood and watched him fall. Suddenly Xero looked at Himakio and smiled devilishly. He chuckled then flashed in front of her. "So now it's just down to us...." spoke out a voice, not sounding like Xero's. Himakio stared for a moment, then realized that it wasn't Xero who was speaking to her. "Wh..Who are you?" asked Himakio. "Who am I?" laughed the voice "I am the reason Xero became so strong...I am Teichi the Demon Wolf." he laughed insanely. Xero struggled within his mind to stop the takeover, we go now to the inside of Xero's mind. Xero stood before Teichi "What is this?! What are you doing?!" shouted Xero. Teichi laughed insanely "Why Xero, I'm doing exactly what you WANTED me to do, I'm going to ellimenate her! The one you swore to kill, remember?" he laughed more. "No!" shouted Xero "I don't wish that on her anymore! Stop!" Xero ran towards Teichi. "It's too late now." said Teichi laughing. "I'm about to kill her!" Xero ran and tackled Teichi over, but was thrown off. "Xero you fool...If you bring any harm to me, you will harm yourself as well!" said Teichi with a devilish smirk on his face. "What the hell do you mean?" asked Xero, getting back up and facing Teichi. "Don't you get it Xero? You were born with me! I -AM- You!" Xero stared in shock for a moment, then looked down and realized something. "No...You're not me....You're only half of me, and I can become the dominant half and control you if I wish! This is my mind! My world! I control you! YOU DO NOT CONTROL ME ANY LONGER!!!" Shouted Xero as he charged Teichi. "It's over for you Teichi!!" Xero collided with Teichi, and the two of them merged into one. Xero emerged from the mess as the dominant personality, and all was well. Meanwhile back in the real world, Xero awoke, and the aura arround him disappeared. He faced Himakio, then smiled at her and hugged her. "It's over now...Let's go home..." Himakio smiled and hugged him back, and Xero brought Damia home with them. Xero and Himakio headed out from the now completely destroyed village, and headed back west, back to home.....
