However, it is created from a sheep's wool, and often the sheep have been subjected to pesticides and insecticides which can sometimes be present within the Lanolin. Whilst there is only a small chance that this will happen, it does still happen and so it can be potentially harmful to the skin.
Overall, all chemicals have the potential to be harmful but usually our skin care products do not cause many problems. You could always switch to using homemade, natural remedies however if it would make you feel safer. That way you know what you are putting on your skin!
