CHAPTER 1
"I can't believe this!" I yelled after finding out the 'news'
"oh you think im happy?" james said in a monotone voice
"well you aren't mad about it? explain that one, no wait. i don't need an explanation." and with that, i left my friends house, james immediately got up from his chair and ran to me, trying to catch up with me. angry tears rolling off of my cheeks., as I heard him calling my name.
I finally got home, and ran to my room.
"Rin! will you at least stop and talk?!" James said as he put an open palm on my shoulder.
"leave me alone!" I yelled smacking his hand, moving it off. I stopped and looked into his eyes.
-why does he always have to do this, using those eyes.- I thought as my breathing got softer.
"im sorry, rin its not that i don't care, its that..." james paused, not sure of what to say next.
"well, its what?" i asked, my impatience over coming me.
"im going to count down from five, if you don't answer by then im leaving." i said.
"okay, i guess I’ve always...liked you more than a friend, so when i found out about this i guess i found, relived." he told me, tears came to my eyes. my knees buckled, and of coarse i fell into his arms. causing me to gasp, and james to look at me oddly.
"its not what you think, its my knees again." i said looking down trying not to show him i was blushing like crazy
CHAPTER 2

~she fell into my arms at just the right time, it was like it was on purpose.~ i thought as i walked over to rin.
"look, im sorry. its not like it was me who planned it." i said, trying too comfort her,

i sighed as i heard him say something. i had zoned out so i don't exactly know what he was saying, but i knew it was stupid.
"if you don't mind i would just like to be left alone to think."
"okay, bye..." james said as he left my room.
i sighed again, deciding to flip through my TV, finding nothing on.
"i guess i have to just...get ready for my wedding to a VAMPIRE, BUT MY BEST FRIEND" i yelled as i flopped back on my bed, staring at my ceiling.
“wow sis, james huh?” my sister asked me in a surpassed tone.
“SHUT UP AND LEAVE ALEXIS!” i screamed at her, using my powers to slam the door in her face, i have always loved that power. ~she is SO rude, i wish i was an only child~
“fine! i wont tell you what i asked and got the answer from james, its very nice...” she said in a snappy tone.
i sighed, tired of her tricks. when she had something, there was always a trade.
“what is it?” i said turning my head to her.
“your cell phone for the week.” she said smirking at me.
~friend or phone...i guess I’ll have to go with...~
“deal” i said as i chucked my phone at her
“he’s liked you ever since you met...” she said to me as she walked away.
“wow, I have to apologise!” I said as I picked up the house phone, and quickly dialled his number.
I heard a sad sigh before hearing his voice.
“what do you want.”
suddenly I felt nervous, what was I going to say.
“i’m...sorry for what I said, please forgive me...?” I asked him as the phone went off, he had hung up on me, and he appeared in front of me. pulling me into a tight embrace, saying nothing. but I knew he forgave me. but what was to come, he’s a vampire, we can’t just live normally. I guessed it was tim for him to leave, because he let go of me, and i saw his eyes were...different.
“i have to go...vampire things.” he said, looking at me.
“okay, but come back when your done?” i asked him, pleading eyes. i really hoped he could stay, and just talk like normal friends. we were always having to treat each other like we weren't friends. his parents hated me, so it was ‘natural’ for him to hate me too. but his mother was nice, just so.....vampire.
CHAPTER 3

as i left i felt rins feelings. the same as mine. i should be happy, right? three weeks and i’ll be married to someone that I’ve always had a crush on.
i walked into a dark alleyway, where i always find my prey. soon enough an old man walked by
“sis i’ll let you take that one” i whispered to my sister. she hasn’t fed in weeks, and i fed last night. she deserves it.

“alexis, can you come here.” i asked my big sister, i knew she would come because i had money. which she needed.
i heard a sigh as my sister walked in.
“what is it,” she asked as i held a bundle of money.
“of you can find out when my wedding is i’ll give you 100 bucks.” i said with a smirk.
she’ll do anything for money.
she sighed again as she walked over, and grabbed the wad of money out of my hand, counting it, and giving it back to me.
“really? easy enough.” she mumbled as she walked out of my room. she was going to do it, i still had the money.
~A Few Hours Later~
“did you find out?” i asked my sister as she returned to my room.
“no, but can i st--”
“nope.” i interrupted her.
it was now night, i figured james wasn’t coming back so i fell asleep.
~The Next Day~
i woke up, with my window open, and a note on my alarm clock.

meet me at my house at 9:00, i have something for you.

it was 8:30, and his house was a 20 minute walk, so i took a quick shower and got new clothes on, and left. when i got there i saw him in his room, and walked up to the door. i rang the bell, then looked back up to his room. he was at the door already.
“hi rin, come in.” he said very politely, as i smiled and walked in. he lead me to his room, when i saw a beautiful ring on his bedside table.
“i see you saw my present.” he said with a slight laugh as he grabbed it, and brought it over.
“well how couldn--”
“its for you.” he inturupted me as he looked into my eyes, seeing my feelings to this whole ‘arranged marriage’ thing. we both thought it was crazy! or i thought he did too.
CHAPTER 4
“james... how could you afford this?!” rin asked, the diamond was HUGE!
“i saved up.” he said, not breaking the gaze from my eyes. i was getting nervous, what was i going to do? kiss him. i was so confused.
“for me...?” i asked as i started to blush like mad. and he obviously noticed. i saw his hand rise up, and he gently placed it on my cheek.
“yeah, we have to get married any ways so... why not.” he said with his smile, it could make ANYONE fall for him. i always wondered why he didn’t use it to get a girlfriend, it could get him one. but thoughts were inturupted as i heard his mom coming to the door, what was i going to do? she was nice, but she gets all... weird when she finds out he has a girlfriend, and i don’t want someone I’ve known ever since i was six to be all baby talk with me. james obviously knew, but he wasn’t doing anything. on the outside, i was fine, but on the inside i was freaking out! he wasn’t moving! what was i possibly going to do, should i break away and hurt james’ feelings? i guessed i was just going to have to deal with the baby talk, forever..., when i snapped out of my thoughts, james was looking at me, was he using his mind reading powers? CRAP! if he was, then i would be screwed, not to mention what james would have felt if he heard all that!
“james, please tell me you weren't reading my mind just then!” i said in a hushed tone.
he laughed a bit and said, “don’t worry, i learned that lesson the hard way last year.”
i smiled as i felt his hand move off my cheek, just in time. she had just walked in.
“oh, rin your still here?” she asked as i turned on my heel, looking at her. wow, for a vampire she wears a lot of pink stuff.
“well, you kids should be getting to school.” she said smiling that ‘goodytwoshoes’ smile of hers.
“uh mom, its a saturday...” james said closing his eyes and crossing his arms, but not anywhere. but around my waist, like we were dating or something. but for some reason i didn’t struggle, it felt...nice. but when she saw that, i saw it. the baby talk any second now!
“oh... well i’ll drive you to the mall...?” she said with that dumbfounded smile. thank god, NO BABY TALK!
“um, sure,” i said taking a glance at james, who smiled politely while he unwrapped his arms from my waist. we all walked out, and packed into her car. a red mercadese, good for the mall. but bad for a...date i guess.
CHAPTER 5
((this chapter is a little short, but its kind of a prologue to the halloween special coming up son!))
When we got into the mall, james knew exactly where to go. its like he read my mind, because he brought us to my fave store, hot topic.
“your a mind reader, james.” i said as we walked into the store.
“well, I’ve known you for a long time, its your favourite store.” he said, looking at all the peircings. then i realised something, he loves buying me jewellery, but why? first all the stuff for my birthdays, and the ring. but i couldn’t say something. it would be rude. all those thoughts ran through my head as i looked at all the clothing racks. before i walked over to james, he had bought a few things, but he wouldn’t tell me what they were, it was KILLING me.

after hot topic, we went to a bunch of other stores. most of them we just looked, and just for laughs, we actually got ourselves into ambercombie and fitch, and acted all emo to scare the people in there. of coarse, we got kicked out of the mall like we usually do.
now he just dropped me off at my house, and guess what?
NOTHING HAPPENED! ha! i fooled you, you were going to think we kissed or something. right? im still not into that stuff.
i started dialling my best friends number, and she picked up.
“rin, what happened with james, i heard you went on a date,” she yelled into a phone, as i sighed.
“nothing, it wasn’t a date. we just meant to the mall like any other day.” i said, tired of people thinking we were dating.
CHAPTER 6
Of coarse, i fell asleep reading. i do that too much. i woke up to my cell phone ringing, it was james.
“what? its early,” i said as i answered it.
“look out your balcony, trust me you’ll like this” he said with a hint of excitement in his voice, curiosity overcame me and i looked out.
“How did you afford that?!” i yelled as i ended the call. there was a car in my driveway, i know he couldn’t afford that! not trying to be rude.
“let me in and i’ll tell you,” he said as he walked up to the door. i flicked my finger and it unlocked, so i waited on the balcony. he came up and walked towards me, but today felt weird. too much tension, if you ask me. he walked really close to me, and i was getting nervous. this was too close for comfort.
“rin,” he asked, his voice back to that monotone, that he knew i hated.
“y-yes?” i stuttered out, i blew it! he could tell i was nervous, what do i do? I’ve honestly never been in this position before. he brought my face up with his hand, exposing my slight blush.
“are you okay, you’ve never acted like this around...anyone,” he said trying not to look at my eyes, but why?
“i’m fine, at least i think im fine.” i answered him, seeing him smile, oh god i love that smile.
“good, you’ve been acting different for a while,” he said after letting go of my face and moving both of them around my waist.
“james, why are you doing that?” i asked as he laughed.
“don’t worry, its nothing.” he assured me, but i wasn’t convinced. it was acward, we have been friends forever. i wasn’t sure about it, but we kept talking.
~two (long) hours later~
we had finished talking, and i suggested the skate park, and he agreed.
“i’ll be right back, could you get the skateboards?” i asked him, and he nodded and left my room. as i took the time as an advantage to get into my other clothes, and brush through my hair. when he came back i had finished everything i had to do, and i swore he blushed when he saw me. but i ignored it, that's his business.
when we got there, just walking in, we scared three kids. a new record. we started skating, and we drew a crowed. i guess a few tricks were interesting.
~7:00, Halloween night~
we got back from the skate park, and put our stuff in the garage, and i looked at the house. it was transformed into a haunted house. have i ever said that i LOVE magic? well i did now. we saw a bunch of kids coming up to the house, i grabbed james’ hand and we ran into the house. i love scaring kids.
we got into our places in the hallway, where we grabbed kids shoulders to make them scream.
~10:00~
we walked up to my room, where we watched a movie, we fell asleep beside each other. almost, my mom saw and freaked out.
“What is this!” she screamed, making me flinch, and wake up james.
“what, i was sleeping,” i asked as i rubbed my eyes, realising the position i was in. his arm around me, and my head on his chest.
“james, wake up!” i whispered, elbowing him in the stomach.
“ouch!” he said as he looked at my mom, then at the floor.
“uh, hi ms.H” he said as he tried not to make eye contact with her, we both knew we were in huge trouble.
CHAPTER 7
“mom, this isn’t what it looks li--” “that's rubbish! you two were sleeping with each other!” she cut me off in mid sentence. “Ms.H, we do it all the time, we fell asleep, you never cared before the marriage was announced,” he said, trying to calm her down. it didn’t work, more yelling. and she said something about calling his mother to cancel the wedding, my eyes went wide. she couldn’t! i was just getting...dare i say it, exited about this wedding. i mean james is perfect for me!
~THE NEXT DAY~
“Mom, how could you do this?!” i screamed at her as streams of tears fell down my face. after i fell asleep she called the wedding off, and banned james from my house! “Easy honey, i just used a spell, now eat your breakfast before it gets cold.” she said calmly. did she forget the rash she was in last night? i guessed so, because she was fine... it was time for school so i got my cloths, and makeup on. trying to wash away all the tears before.
I got to school, and i saw james. the moment i almost broke down crying. he could tell, because he immediately grabbed my hand, and looked into my eyes. he always made me feel better by doing that, but it wasn’t working. “rin, what's wrong? you seem sad,” he asked, and we started walking to first class. “i hate my mom, she banned you from my house, and...never mind, that's all.” i said, looking down and tried to hide my expression. he laughed, and i looked up at him. why would he be laughing?! “your not telling me everything, are you?” he asked, looking down at me. i hate being short. “she went out with it,” i said, knowing he would know what i meant.
“you have to be kidding’ me!” he said with a noticeable hint of worry in his voice, making me laugh a bit. “yeah, sucks huh?” i said, looking down again, then noticing all the stares, why? then i remembered, we were still holding hands, oops! james noticed it too, but he only let my hand go when we got to class, which was my favourite one by the way, it was necromancy.
~LUNCH~
we got our food, and quickly. and we decided to take a walk, we had about 20 minutes to kill. we walked and sat on the fountain side, talking. but then he asked something weird. “marry me?” told yeah it was weird. “WHAT???” i said, almost fainting from shock. “sorry, it slipped out, never mind.” he said, blushing slightly. i could tell it was an accident. “yes.” i said, bringing his head up to look into his eyes. it was my turn to shock him. i laughed as his huge blush/shocked face, it was priceless! “...i....didn’t know you would say--” “Yes?” i asked, cutting him off. “yeah, but incase you did, i got you this.” he said, pulling out a....neclace. it was beautiful! black, purple, and red. “james, its gorgeous!” i exclaimed, looking up at him, then the necklace again. he smiled and signalled me to turn around, which i did. he brought his arm around me to put the necklace on me, and as son as it touched my chest i gently touched it and turned around. he smiled and looked at me.
~after school~
we walked to my house, and we went our separate ways. i walked into the door and almost fainted on the spot, i slid down and leaned up against the door. “where were you?” my mom yelled, i was 10 minutes late! how could she be mad. “mom, i was just walking home, why are you so mad?” i asked her, looking at her strangely. “WHERE did you get that necklace from???” she asked, well...more like screamed at me... “i got it from my friend kelsy, why?” i said, lying to her, she always bought my lies. “kelsy, huh?” she asked, kneeling down and looking at it. “a bit expensive for a late birthday present, don’t you think?” she asked, and i shrugged and got up. i nudged her aside and walked up to my room and called kelsy, so she was in on the plan.i dialled her number, and i told her everything. “WHAT??? james pro-pro-proposed to you, WHY, WHEN??!?!?” she yelled through the phone. “SHHHH!! my mom might be listening!” i told her. she reassured me she wouldn’t tell anyone and i hung up, i had a date. yes, it was with james.
~around 7:00 PM~
i got in a dress, he said it was formal and to dress nicely. my dress was more of a kimono, but that's a dress for me. it was black with a red dragon embodied on it from my grandma. and i loved it. i got to the park, where we would meet and i saw him. he was wearing a black tux, and he was...HOT!!!!! “you clean up good,” i said as i smiled. “you too, come on its this way.” he said and gently grabbed my arm. he opened the door to a limo, and i got in and he followed.
we got to a beautiful restaurant, where i saw there were other magical beings in there. we walked in to a big table, where there was james’ family and a few of my family members. my grandparents, my aunts and uncles, and cousins. “james, why is my family here?” i asked him, looking around. “i invited them, why?” he asked back, i rolled my eyes and we took our seats. “just wondering, do they know about the wedding?” i asked again, and he laughed. “you ask too many questions, and no. they don’t know. where telling them after dinner.” he said s her mother made a toast, and dinner blessings towards the many, many gods we warship.
i looked at james, and he smiled. the blessings were finished and we were able to eat, i wasn’t very hungry so i didn’t take much. me and james mostly talked. at the end of dinner, everybody quieted down for the news. “everybody,” his mother started, and looked at me with her smile. “rin and james are to be married.” she said as she nudged us to stand up, as everybody applaud. james took my hand in his and gently stroked it, making me blush slightly.

james took me outside onto a balcony, where we talked more. about different things, then my grandma came out. i haven’t seen her since she gave me dress! she stayed and asked us questions, llike when he asked and stuff like that. we mostly answered with three words or less. it was time to go after this song. so he asked me to dance, i swore i’de kill him! but i did anyways. by the end of the night,(was lyke 5 minuets) we danced intill my feet hurt. real cinderalle like, right?
CHAPTER 8
I got home, and as soon as i closed the door.....SMACK!
"Where the hell were you?! And with WHO?" my mother screamed, backhanding me. "i was... out with some friends." i said, feeling my cheek. did she just hit me? "LAIR!" she screamed, smacking me again and throwing me to the ground. "ow," i whimpered, covering my head and leaning against the door. "Listen to me!" she said, grabbing me by the shoulder. Then i smelled it, she had been drinking...And by the smell of it, a lot of liquor. "I...went out with grandma to a ball. she suggested this dress because it was formal...you've been drinking, havent you?" i asked, lying through my teeth and trying not to smack her back just as hard.

We just dropped off rin, when i heard something and got out of the car. I heard screaming, and i couldn't open the door. "Rin! are you okay?" i yelled through the door, finally being able to open it. i peeked through the door, and saw rin and her mother standing through there. "Ms.H, let go of her." i said calmly, closing the door. she fell to her knees, letting rin go. Rin grabbed her shoulder, and looked at her hand. "I'm going to get washed up, too much for me being around...that" she mumbeld, and i noticed a reasonable amount of blood on her hand.

I walked up to the bathroom next to my room, and changed into my PJ's. I now was able to see the marks where her nails dug into my shoulder. I looked at the bruise on my cheek. "Hey james." i said, opening the bathroom door. "hey," he said, looking at his feet. "lets go to my room, warmer in there," i said, walking into my room. We walked into my room, and i sat on my bed. "i can't move my shoulder..." i said, looking up at james. he walked over to me and sat beside me, looking at my shoulder. "you sure your going to be okay?" he asked, lifting his hand, touching my hurt shoulder gently. I smiled at him, reassuring him before i spoke. "i'll be fine, i just don't want to be near...her anymore" i said, closing my eyes and grabbing his hand. "you could stay at my house, my mom likes you a lot. she would be happy to let you stay with us," he offered. i smiled and opened my eyes. "okay, but i have a question.""shoot""why did you come?" i asked him, sitting straight after slouching down. "i heard something, t-thats all." he said, looking down immediately

“oh, rin your still here?” she asked as i turned on my heel, looking at her. wow, for a vampire she wears a lot of pink stuff.
“well, you kids should be getting to school.” she said smiling that ‘goodytwoshoes’ smile of hers.
“uh mom, its a saturday...” james said closing his eyes and crossing his arms, but not anywhere. but around my waist, like we were dating or something. but for some reason i didn’t struggle, it felt...nice. but when she saw that, i saw it. the baby talk any second now!
“oh... well i’ll drive you to the mall...?” she said with that dumbfounded smile. thank god, NO BABY TALK!
“um, sure,” i said taking a glance at james, who smiled politely while he unwrapped his arms from my waist. we all walked out, and packed into her car. a red mercadese, good for the mall. but bad for a...date i guess.
CHAPTER 5
((this chapter is a little short, but its kind of a prologue to the halloween special coming up son!))
When we got into the mall, james knew exactly where to go. its like he read my mind, because he brought us to my fave store, hot topic.
“your a mind reader, james.” i said as we walked into the store.
“well, I’ve known you for a long time, its your favourite store.” he said, looking at all the peircings. then i realised something, he loves buying me jewellery, but why? first all the stuff for my birthdays, and the ring. but i couldn’t say something. it would be rude. all those thoughts ran through my head as i looked at all the clothing racks. before i walked over to james, he had bought a few things, but he wouldn’t tell me what they were, it was KILLING me.

after hot topic, we went to a bunch of other stores. most of them we just looked, and just for laughs, we actually got ourselves into ambercombie and fitch, and acted all emo to scare the people in there. of coarse, we got kicked out of the mall like we usually do.
now he just dropped me off at my house, and guess what?
NOTHING HAPPENED! ha! i fooled you, you were going to think we kissed or something. right? im still not into that stuff.
i started dialling my best friends number, and she picked up.
“rin, what happened with james, i heard you went on a date,” she yelled into a phone, as i sighed.
“nothing, it wasn’t a date. we just meant to the mall like any other day.” i said, tired of people thinking we were dating.
CHAPTER 6
Of coarse, i fell asleep reading. i do that too much. i woke up to my cell phone ringing, it was james.
“what? its early,” i said as i answered it.
“look out your balcony, trust me you’ll like this” he said with a hint of excitement in his voice, curiosity overcame me and i looked out.
“How did you afford that?!” i yelled as i ended the call. there was a car in my driveway, i know he couldn’t afford that! not trying to be rude.
“let me in and i’ll tell you,” he said as he walked up to the door. i flicked my finger and it unlocked, so i waited on the balcony. he came up and walked towards me, but today felt weird. too much tension, if you ask me. he walked really close to me, and i was getting nervous. this was too close for comfort.
“rin,” he asked, his voice back to that monotone, that he knew i hated.
“y-yes?” i stuttered out, i blew it! he could tell i was nervous, what do i do? I’ve honestly never been in this position before. he brought my face up with his hand, exposing my slight blush.
“are you okay, you’ve never acted like this around...anyone,” he said trying not to look at my eyes, but why?
“i’m fine, at least i think im fine.” i answered him, seeing him smile, oh god i love that smile.
“good, you’ve been acting different for a while,” he said after letting go of my face and moving both of them around my waist.
“james, why are you doing that?” i asked as he laughed.
“don’t worry, its nothing.” he assured me, but i wasn’t convinced. it was acward, we have been friends forever. i wasn’t sure about it, but we kept talking.
~two (long) hours later~
we had finished talking, and i suggested the skate park, and he agreed.
“i’ll be right back, could you get the skateboards?” i asked him, and he nodded and left my room. as i took the time as an advantage to get into my other clothes, and brush through my hair. when he came back i had finished everything i had to do, and i swore he blushed when he saw me. but i ignored it, that's his business.
when we got there, just walking in, we scared three kids. a new record. we started skating, and we drew a crowed. i guess a few tricks were interesting.
~7:00, Halloween night~
we got back from the skate park, and put our stuff in the garage, and i looked at the house. it was transformed into a haunted house. have i ever said that i LOVE magic? well i did now. we saw a bunch of kids coming up to the house, i grabbed james’ hand and we ran into the house. i love scaring kids.
we got into our places in the hallway, where we grabbed kids shoulders to make them scream.
~10:00~
we walked up to my room, where we watched a movie, we fell asleep beside each other. almost, my mom saw and freaked out.
“What is this!” she screamed, making me flinch, and wake up james.
“what, i was sleeping,” i asked as i rubbed my eyes, realising the position i was in. his arm around me, and my head on his chest.
“james, wake up!” i whispered, elbowing him in the stomach.
“ouch!” he said as he looked at my mom, then at the floor.
“uh, hi ms.H” he said as he tried not to make eye contact with her, we both knew we were in huge trouble.
CHAPTER 7
“mom, this isn’t what it looks li--” “that's rubbish! you two were sleeping with each other!” she cut me off in mid sentence. “Ms.H, we do it all the time, we fell asleep, you never cared before the marriage was announced,” he said, trying to calm her down. it didn’t work, more yelling. and she said something about calling his mother to cancel the wedding, my eyes went wide. she couldn’t! i was just getting...dare i say it, exited about this wedding. i mean james is perfect for me!
~THE NEXT DAY~
“Mom, how could you do this?!” i screamed at her as streams of tears fell down my face. after i fell asleep she called the wedding off, and banned james from my house! “Easy honey, i just used a spell, now eat your breakfast before it gets cold.” she said calmly. did she forget the rash she was in last night? i guessed so, because she was fine... it was time for school so i got my cloths, and makeup on. trying to wash away all the tears before.
I got to school, and i saw james. the moment i almost broke down crying. he could tell, because he immediately grabbed my hand, and looked into my eyes. he always made me feel better by doing that, but it wasn’t working. “rin, what's wrong? you seem sad,” he asked, and we started walking to first class. “i hate my mom, she banned you from my house, and...never mind, that's all.” i said, looking down and tried to hide my expression. he laughed, and i looked up at him. why would he be laughing?! “your not telling me everything, are you?” he asked, looking down at me. i hate being short. “she went out with it,” i said, knowing he would know what i meant.
“you have to be kidding’ me!” he said with a noticeable hint of worry in his voice, making me laugh a bit. “yeah, sucks huh?” i said, looking down again, then noticing all the stares, why? then i remembered, we were still holding hands, oops! james noticed it too, but he only let my hand go when we got to class, which was my favourite one by the way, it was necromancy.
~LUNCH~
we got our food, and quickly. and we decided to take a walk, we had about 20 minutes to kill. we walked and sat on the fountain side, talking. but then he asked something weird. “marry me?” told yeah it was weird. “WHAT???” i said, almost fainting from shock. “sorry, it slipped out, never mind.” he said, blushing slightly. i could tell it was an accident. “yes.” i said, bringing his head up to look into his eyes. it was my turn to shock him. i laughed as his huge blush/shocked face, it was priceless! “...i....didn’t know you would say--” “Yes?” i asked, cutting him off. “yeah, but incase you did, i got you this.” he said, pulling out a....neclace. it was beautiful! black, purple, and red. “james, its gorgeous!” i exclaimed, looking up at him, then the necklace again. he smiled and signalled me to turn around, which i did. he brought his arm around me to put the necklace on me, and as son as it touched my chest i gently touched it and turned around. he smiled and looked at me.
~after school~
we walked to my house, and we went our separate ways. i walked into the door and almost fainted on the spot, i slid down and leaned up against the door. “where were you?” my mom yelled, i was 10 minutes late! how could she be mad. “mom, i was just walking home, why are you so mad?” i asked her, looking at her strangely. “WHERE did you get that necklace from???” she asked, well...more like screamed at me... “i got it from my friend kelsy, why?” i said, lying to her, she always bought my lies. “kelsy, huh?” she asked, kneeling down and looking at it. “a bit expensive for a late birthday present, don’t you think?” she asked, and i shrugged and got up. i nudged her aside and walked up to my room and called kelsy, so she was in on the plan.i dialled her number, and i told her everything. “WHAT??? james pro-pro-proposed to you, WHY, WHEN??!?!?” she yelled through the phone. “SHHHH!! my mom might be listening!” i told her. she reassured me she wouldn’t tell anyone and i hung up, i had a date. yes, it was with james.
~around 7:00 PM~
i got in a dress, he said it was formal and to dress nicely. my dress was more of a kimono, but that's a dress for me. it was black with a red dragon embodied on it from my grandma. and i loved it. i got to the park, where we would meet and i saw him. he was wearing a black tux, and he was...HOT!!!!! “you clean up good,” i said as i smiled. “you too, come on its this way.” he said and gently grabbed my arm. he opened the door to a limo, and i got in and he followed.
we got to a beautiful restaurant, where i saw there were other magical beings in there. we walked in to a big table, where there was james’ family and a few of my family members. my grandparents, my aunts and uncles, and cousins. “james, why is my family here?” i asked him, looking around. “i invited them, why?” he asked back, i rolled my eyes and we took our seats. “just wondering, do they know about the wedding?” i asked again, and he laughed. “you ask too many questions, and no. they don’t know. where telling them after dinner.” he said s her mother made a toast, and dinner blessings towards the many, many gods we warship.
i looked at james, and he smiled. the blessings were finished and we were able to eat, i wasn’t very hungry so i didn’t take much. me and james mostly talked. at the end of dinner, everybody quieted down for the news. “everybody,” his mother started, and looked at me with her smile. “rin and james are to be married.” she said as she nudged us to stand up, as everybody applaud. james took my hand in his and gently stroked it, making me blush slightly.
~Later~
james took me outside onto a balcony, where we talked more. about different things, then my grandma came out. i haven’t seen her since she gave me dress! she stayed and asked us questions, llike when he asked and stuff like that. we mostly answered with three words or less. it was time to go after this song. so he asked me to dance, i swore i’de kill him! but i did anyways. by the end of the night,(was lyke 5 minuets) we danced intill my feet hurt. real cinderalle like, right?
CHAPTER 8
I got home, and as soon as i closed the door.....SMACK!
"Where the hell were you?! And with WHO?" my mother screamed, backhanding me. "i was... out with some friends." i said, feeling my cheek. did she just hit me? "LAIR!" she screamed, smacking me again and throwing me to the ground. "ow," i whimpered, covering my head and leaning against the door. "Listen to me!" she said, grabbing me by the shoulder. Then i smelled it, she had been drinking...And by the smell of it, a lot of liquor. "I...went out with grandma to a ball. she suggested this dress because it was formal...you've been drinking, havent you?" i asked, lying through my teeth and trying not to smack her back just as hard.

We just dropped off rin, when i heard something and got out of the car. I heard screaming, and i couldn't open the door. "Rin! are you okay?" i yelled through the door, finally being able to open it. i peeked through the door, and saw rin and her mother standing through there. "Ms.H, let go of her." i said calmly, closing the door. she fell to her knees, letting rin go. Rin grabbed her shoulder, and looked at her hand. "I'm going to get washed up, too much for me being around...that" she mumbeld, and i noticed a reasonable amount of blood on her hand.

I walked up to the bathroom next to my room, and changed into my PJ's. I now was able to see the marks where her nails dug into my shoulder. I looked at the bruise on my cheek. "Hey james." i said, opening the bathroom door. "hey," he said, looking at his feet. "lets go to my room, warmer in there," i said, walking into my room. We walked into my room, and i sat on my bed. "i can't move my shoulder..." i said, looking up at james. he walked over to me and sat beside me, looking at my shoulder. "you sure your going to be okay?" he asked, lifting his hand, touching my hurt shoulder gently. I smiled at him, reassuring him before i spoke. "i'll be fine, i just don't want to be near...her anymore" i said, closing my eyes and grabbing his hand. "you could stay at my house, my mom likes you a lot. she would be happy to let you stay with us," he offered. i smiled and opened my eyes. "okay, but i have a question.""shoot""why did you come?" i asked him, sitting straight after slouching down. "i heard something, t-thats all." he said, looking down immediately
