I just got back from taking Adrian home with my dad. And on the way back, I saw something. It reminded of what my friend, Rose, had said, but I want to state my opinion on it.
I saw someone truly smile. I know, you're thinking "yeah right, no one does that anymore!" But I actually saw it. I think I've seen him somewhere before, and I think he has a mental disorder. And now some of you are thinking, "oh... well that doesn't count. He's retarded!!" That is beside the point, and I will go into that in a minute.
I had seen him and a girl holding hands walking together, like she was leading him. And on the way back, I saw the girl clapping her hands and cheering something on. When we drove up a little farther, I saw him running with the football towards her. I also saw something astonoshing. He was beaming. A look of nothing but the bliss of joy smacked onto his face. It made me smile. His eyes were squinted and he was laughing. He looked like he had never been emotionally pained in his life.
After I saw that, I remembered what Rose had blogged about. It was about how no one can issue an honest smile anymore. I think I'll point this man out to her if I ever get the chance.
I also thought, "why can't we do that?" It doesn't matter if he's stupid, retarded, heartless, or his emotions are easily triggerd. He has the ability to ignore everything bad in his life and have fun. I can't forget the look he had on his face. It was priceless. Everyone within the previous 8 generations hasn't been able to really smile. "Society is currupt." Even parents, who always try to smile in front of their kids (no matter of their childrens' age), really don't smile at all. My mom is one of those exceptions. The world has gotten to the point where everything is hopeless. No one can really acheive their goals, because society has made it damn near impossible. Everything is worth so much less than it used to be, and yet, prices still go up. People are hadrly ever truly happy anymore.
Now, I'm not blaming it only on society (because that's hardly the issue I'm talking about now).
My point is, it doesn't matter who are or what's going on in your life. No one is actually happy anymore. That man I saw today has something that only 20% or less of the world has: The power to have unlimited and unconditional happiness.
I'm not trying to say that you should be happy, no matter what's going on. But you could at least give it a try. The people that care about don't want to see you upset, and it certainly doesn't feel good to be upset. If you're an attention whore, or have your own issues with people around, please don't explain them to me. I most likely won't be able to help (on occasion not care), or I'll ignore you comepletely.
