-
I see you look in the mirror,
And frown.
Why do you frown?
Your eyes are dark,
Blacker than most.
But they shine with brilliant light
And dazzle me.
But I should say sorry,
I let love pour from my eyes but
Only when you look away.
Sorry,
When my words should be honey,
They are filled with venom.
But listen closely
The thorns in my words
Hide roses,
Thousands of roses that bloomed
One spring ago.
Sorry,
the words "I love you"
are locked in a box,
Buried miles under the soil,
Under mountains,
Under planets,
Under stars.
Sorry,
That I keep on playing this game,
Of lies and deceit.
Dishonesty.
And Greed.
When the truth of it all,
Is that when I see you smile,
You subdue me.
