The Game of Kings
Friends all around you
Different on the scale
Some may succeed
And some may fail
You need to move quick
Though time is on your side
And watch for the rules
Which you must abide
Send out the Pawns
To claim what is yours
It just takes a move
And so starts these wars
White takes the center
Black sneaks around
He hunts in his pattern
Moves without sound
But he landed in a trap
Stuck, still, and bound
The Bishop charges forward
And the Knight is cut down
A flawless kill
The Bishop had said
But then out of nowhere
He's bashed in the head
The Pawn moves diagonally
To take his place
All happy and content
With a grin on his face
The White King yells orders
You here, now there
Black's Queen is on the loose
And hes very aware
The Queen finds a good spot
She burrows in deep
She's spotted her prey
Soon the King she will reap
The Bishop interposes
Between his King, and their Queen
She must make a decision
Based on the scene
The Queen calls her Rook
To fight by her side
White surely would kill her
But the rules have him tied
If he finishes her now
White's kingdom will fall
If he stays, Black advances
Backing King 'gainst the wall
He's forced to stay
His Knight couldn't make it
Black's Queen rushes forward
Sees the Bishop, will take it
She stares down the King
There will be no hate
It was played oh so fairly
White's now in check mate
