You spend your days searching, but can you see the light?
The one sent to help guide you, but we know it's not so bright.
It's the darkest hour that lasts though it is no longer night.
The caged bird still sings, hoping soon to take flight.
Rest assured, even on those broken wings, you can fly endlessly and they shall take you to higher heights.
Soaring freely without pain, regret, guilt, though they were the driving force that first led you to the sky.
As the seasons change, so shall he, so shall she, so shall you and so shall I.
Each new day brings new wounds, though they heal with time,
the scars still remain, in the form of memories resting in your heart and mind.
The shackles broken, the caged bird spreads its wings, cries of freedom ring through as it takes flight,
though still wounded the bird now sees truth, in the warmth of the light.
Now take off, little bird, with that sparkle in your eyes,
never let any cage hold you, let all see how brightly you can shine.
Maybe one day another bird will join you, up there in the sky,
but that all shall be decided, if you just give it time.
For now, allow the sun to warm those wings of yours, let that warmth take darkness from your sight,
because that warmth is what will guide you towards the future, a future eternally shining bright.

- Title: Flight on Broken Wings
- Artist: J_Wesley_1995
- Description: A poem I wrote for a friend about a month or two ago, hoping to help her through some problems she was going through. It's meant to be kind of a reminder that though you feel damaged or broken, you can still keep going.
