-
There are veins within me,
Pressing my skin outwards,
Dorsal to my palm.
And I have ridges,
Sketched on my hands plane.
I love them like my bones.
They remind me,
I am real.
Like star,
And sun,
I'm free!
I'm real!

- Title: Veins
- Artist: PiperDollie
- Description: I wrote this quick poem after having a breakthrough with my struggle with an eating disorder. I was finally learning to love myself. I used to think my veins were ugly and made me look old, but it was like one day I woke up, and I was thankful for them.
