Drifting through the solemn fields
A lone rose just left to wither
Alone and forgotten, carried by the breeze
The most beautiful colour, within the sea of grey
A sudden change of direction
Brings the rose to a field of despair
Abundance of thorns, far as they eye sees
The rose with beauty unrivalled
Settles next to a bramble of thorns
Encased by such a harsh exterior
Lies a rose within
A rose of such beauty
A beauty rivalling that of the solitary rose
Though withering, the rose of solitary origins
Resonated beauty with unfaultering power
The thorns now receeded
Revealed a rose of the deepest black
The roses of colours complimentary
An unlikely find in a world of grey
Once bleak, a life so temporary
Now filled with beauty and colour, to no dismay
Forever leaving a perfect, and beautiful display.
