When did needing help become shameful?
When did people begin to ignore the needy one?
When did the wounded realize that it’s safer to heal in shadow?
When people quit caring
They can hurt with impunity
When people don’t stop to think about their words
They can destroy a life
When a child cries they are helped
When a grown-up cries they are pitied
When a teen cries, they are ridiculed and pushed into shadow
I know the shadow
It is where I live
Sometimes being ignored is good
But sometimes others reach in with a sword & hurt you worse
Will someone come into the shadow willingly
To coax out the frightened?
To heal the wounded?
To free the chained?
To give Hope?
Jesus did once, will His chosen not do the same??
When will people wake up
Will the wounded be helped by the people who wounded them?
Will the damage be amended for?
Tell me when
Then I will come out of the shadow.
