• Part 2

Chikane later woke up to a hard bump the limo came across. She looked up and out her window, while rubbing her head in pain. Tree’s lined up in a perfect row, all seeming to challenge one another on who can reach the sky first. This two lane pass was too long for Chikane’s taste. “Hurry up! I want to see more then these bloody trees!” The driver ignored the commands of the girl in the back seat; rolling up the dark tinted window that separated them both. “Hey! What do you-” The window closed before she got the chance to finish. “I’ll be sure Daddy fires your a** when you return back…p***k!” She folds her arms across her chest in anger as she sat, forced, to watch the stupid trees whisk by.

    *Kimiko’s home*

Kimiko swings her frog backpack around her; throwing her arms through the straps. She picks up her luggage, seeing the red city bus nearing the stop. Excitement sent butterflies to her tummy, as she pulled out her pass from her jacket pocket. The bus came to a screeching hault in front of her. The bus driver, being a man of heavy weight, smiled at the beauty of his new passenger. “Good morning sir!” Kimiko politely acknowledged his presence and showed the man her pass. His smile grew; faint blush marks quickly spread across his face as he replied back with a welcoming greeting. With the doors closing, Kimiko turned to face the crowded bus hoping to find a spot to sit. Unable to acquire one, she grabs the pole nearest her. A familiar little boy looked up at her, smiling. Showing off his missing tooth in pride as he smiled; hoping she’d notice. Kimiko noticed the little boy and returned a warm smile back; commenting on his missing tooth. Having nothing to give him, she hands him a paper frog she had made earlier this morning. The mother of the child noticed her son and snatched the paper frog out of her child’s hand. Crumpling it onto the floor and getting up to leave. “Come on Jiriya. Let’s go. You know better than to accept things from people.” The boy nearly broke out into tears as he glanced at the crumpled frog. He looked up at Kimiko hoping for something else. But she herself in shock only managed to crouch on her knees telling the boy that everything would be alright. She’ll make another one for him again. The boy smiled quickly hugging Kimiko while his mother wasn’t looking, and dashed off after her. Kimiko smiled and pulled the line, as it rung its tune to let the bus driver know her stop was shortly next.

The door finally opened for Chikane. She jumped out excited to be free from that stupid box on wheels; happily stretching. “It’s about time we arrived! I was beginning to think we were lost!” She turns around glaring at her driver, still not forgiving him for closing the window on her. “I’m not lost Chikane. You are.” “What?” Her eyes widened astonished. “How are we lost? Tell me!” He quietly continued unpacking her things from the trunk; dropping them upon the ground. “Hey? What do you think you’re doing with my barring's? Put them back this instant!” The driver ignored her, getting back into the limo and driving off. “Enjoy your schooling brat!” Was all he yelled out as he drove
off with the biggest grin in the universe “What strange and stupid people daddy hires. Just wait till he hears about this one now!” She pulls out her phone and punches in her father’s number. “The number you have dialled is currently unavailable. Please hang up, and try your call again.” “What?” She cancelled the call, glancing at her phone. “That figures! There’s no reception in this ******** area!” She growls upset and begins to grab her things; lugging it up the rocky road. Each step she took, she murmured hateful things about her life. A bag fell and caught her off guard. She dashed for it; later catching it at the bottom of the hill. Turning around, she went to return to the rest of the luggage but instead sees her other baggage plummeting towards her. “Ah! This just isn’t my day!” Tears flew out her eyes in streams; dashing to keep out of its way. She tripped covering her face, embracing for impact.

“. . . .” Chikane felt a warm hand on her back. “Is everything alright? That’s a nasty cut.” She uncovered her face, glancing eye to eye with the boy whom just saved her from a horrible fate. “Yes!” She snapped quickly, jumping up and dusting herself off. “I’m completely fine! I had it all under control!” The boy looked at this girl with soft shimmering eyes that reflected the ocean’s great beauty. “Are you sure now? Well in that case, where are you headed then Miss?” He helped Chikane pick up her scattered bags. “School…” She replied glancing at the boy every few seconds. “Academy High I presume? It’s the only school around this area. Well, in the forest I should say.” Chikane’s eyes widened surprised. She liked this boy. Coughing, she glanced away hiding her feelings so he wouldn’t know. “Why does it matter to you anyways? Not like you’re a teacher or anything!” The boy smiled bringing her luggage to the car. “Actually…I am. You’re Kobayashi, Chikane. Everyone is eagerly awaiting your presence” “Huh!? H-how’d you…” She was too stunned for words. The thought of this young boy being a teacher and already knowing her, left her completely speechless. “I know everything.” He smiled warmly, slamming the trunk of his old beat up car. “Aren’t you coming?” Chikane rushed to his car and jumped in the passenger side. Something she was never allowed to do at her residence.

Kimiko smiled, standing out in front of the large school. She finally made it. As a small celebration, she waited patiently on the oversized stairs for her brothers’ arrival. “So, where are you from Kobayashi-san?” Chikane tried her best not to look at this man she had a bit of a crush on. Who knows; that might just be her teacher. “Well you’re a teacher. You claim to know everything; guess!” “Well, judging by that attitude, I’d say you’re not from Tokyo. Am I right?” He glanced over at Chikane with another one of his heart-warming smiles. Chikane refused to answer his question. “I’ll take your silence as a yes then.” “Are we there yet?” She turned her head to look at him now. Giving into her need to see him; breaking her glance from the window. “Why yes, as a matter of fact, we are.” Kimiko saw that old familiar junked up car and stood up with an excited smile. The boy pulled over and got out of the car. “Brother!” Kimiko screeched blushing; running into his arms. “I have missed you dearly big brother! See! I told you I’d get in!” Her brother kissed his sister’s forehead congratulating her. *SLAM* “God! How old is this damn car? It squeals more than my goddamn brothers!” Chikane looked up noticing a smaller, fragile, looking girl. “Oh. Pardon me. I didn’t realize you were in a reunion with your girlfriend!” She looked away and opened the trunk the rest of the way, pulling her stuff out. “Who’s that brother?” The girl looked at the trunk lid curiously. Hoping the new bringer would peek out again or something. “That dear sister, is a freshman. Just like you.” She slowly let’s go of her brother and cautiously walks over to greet the newcomer; or at least see their face. Chikane sighed heavily. “Alright! Now to lug this s**t up the stairs!” The girl stopped; feeling frozen inside as Chikane’s emotionless, sharp eyes glanced at her. “What are you looking at?” Chikane stopped; now coldly squinting, her eyes in hatred for running into her crush’s arms. The girl blushed deeply
embarrassed, bringing her hand up to her mouth; her long sleeve shirt covered most of her small fist. “Well now, we can do more introductions later! We need to get you both into your Dorm Rooms.” The guy smiled getting a head start up the stairs. “Humph!” Chikane grabbed her stuff, and began to lug it over her shoulder. The small girl poked her index finger’s together and quietly approached Chikane on the stairs. “You…need any help…?” The girls’ voice was soft and meek, but Chikane just simply ignored her, “Oh. Ok then.” The girl quietly run up ahead and linked arms with her brother; smiling up at him.
