I've had my share of troubles.
I can't escape my past.
There's no sure-fire way
That anything can last.
I stare outside my window
As clear drops fall onto glass.
Yet as the surroundings glisten
They shine without contrast.
I open the window wide
Letting rain flow on my palm,
My face, the feel of wetness
Rushing in, a touch of calm.
I don't know when storms end.
I don't know where they begin.
All I know is that I'm praying
That there's one that I'm not in.
I simply sit down and wait
For the raining to subside
Pleading for light to appear
And waiting for it's comply.
Just remind yourself that when
Your outlook glimmers 'Plain'
You can't ever have a rainbow
Without a little bit of rain.
